My wife and I took my mother here for her Birthday dinner and the Hungarian Rhapsody made us her favorites for the day. Relaxing "old school" Hungarian decor throughout the entire restaurant. Very pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient hostess and waitress tending perfectly to our needs. Never had to ask for more coffee or water. I had Beef Stroganoff over dumplings, my wife had the Julienne Salad with a Shrimp cocktail appetizer and my mother had the Chicken Paprikas with dumplings. Everything was amazing and tasty. We couldn't think of a single negative comment as our dining experience was quite positive.

Authentic Hungarian dining! The cucumber salad is almost as good as Grandma's! I love the chicken paprikas, stuffed cabbage, and their pork chops! So get the Hungarian combination plate and get all three! They have a main dining room, and two additional dining rooms for private parties.

Every time I come back from Arizona this is one of my food groups I have to go to. It never disappoints. The Chicken Paprikas is always wonderful.

The pork chop dinner was delicious. I got the breaded pork chops and dumplings, with a side of their cucumber salad. The pork chops were so good that I ordered another to go so my husband could try it.

This is easily the best wedding food I have ever had as a wedding photographer. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious! The bride and groom were thrilled, as well as all of the guests. If you are looking for a place to host a small reception, they have a great room in the back that accommodated us all (approximately 30 people). Highly recommend!! -Victoria Cerise (Mystical Rose Photography)

Time travel back to the 80's but in a nice way. Good food, knowledgeable server. Dated decor but reminds me of a place my grandparents would really like. Next time i will skip the soup, although it tastes good, there was not a shred of chicken in the chicken noodle soup and for that i paid about $6

The food was very good! It definitely takes a little longer than some places to get your food, but I think that's because they're making it fresh. They have bread set up on the table before you sit down, so you can start eating immediately if you're starving. They make their own Ranch and a sweet vinegar water dressing. The chicken paprikas was amazing, if you don't like bones in your chicken, don't get it. If you're fine with bones, the meat falls right off. They come around with a dessert platter at the end if you'd like. Definitely worth going to again

Try the Corn Chowder soup, it was excellent! We loved that this place still has that old-school, customer service, where they treat the customers as valued guests. There's a gentleman in a suit that comes around to the tables to greet you and to make sure you're having an enjoyable experience. This was our first time visiting here. Between the food, deserts, and that extra level of attention that made us feel appreciated and welcomed... we will make this a regular place. Thanks HR for making a great first impression.

UPDATE 2/26: Went with a group of 14 to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Service was stellar! Food was amazing as always! ------- Delicious, wonderful, tasty, fresh, soul warming food! I can't say enough good things about the food or the feeling of this restaurant. Don't know what to get? Try the chicken paprikash. It's mild, juicy and a very large helping. The spatzele in the sauce/gravy is fantastic. By the time you get to the bread and butter and a side salad you will be stuffed. Just remember you may want to save room for dessert! They also have a bar available. I did take out this time but just walking in to pick it up gave me such a peaceful feeling. I went to many dinners and events (yep, they have a banquet room too) here growing up. It isn't super fancy or stiff but the place settings are nice, the table cloths are fabric and there is an air of quiet dignity about the place. Children are welcomed but are expected to behave. (The adults are too 😉) Take a few minutes to explore the display of needlework and other cultural items. They are beautiful and worth the time.

My first time here I was invited by a friend. Don’t be fooled by the dated look. The food and service are amazing. I drive an hour to eat there and would gladly do it again.

Awesome food, it came highly recommended and it delivered beautifuly. Alexis, our server, was very courteous and polite, we definitely had a nice time. We had the chicken paprikas and the stuffed cabbage, they were both amazing and we stuffed ourselves. Dessert was amazing as well, we had the Hungarian kreme but any dessert would definitely hit the spot as well.

This place was great had the breaded pork chops and opted for two sides of dumplings versus the red skins or traditional mashed potatoes and veggies was a side offered but outta respect for just doing a high carb that was not an option I wanted. My fiancé did the chicken parizi with two sides of mashed potatoes it looked done to perfection way entree came with with a tossed salad which my fiancé upgraded to the cucumber salad which was delicious and you got bread that looked fresh and yummy. Her potatoes had gravy and so did my dumplings it was full of flavor and I enjoyed it. I was on a mission for us to sample a dessert I opted for the chocolate torte cake and she had the vanilla cake she said hers was decent but a tad dry mine was pretty good it came plated whip whip cream and chocolate sauce next time I plan on trying the apricot crepes. The service was outstanding young guy rl name Julia was our server and was very patient answering my many questions and always made sure everything was okay Top notch server and very polite with a good vocabulary did not say not a problem once. So I am by far a critic of Hungarian cuisine but one think I do know is that everything seemed to be made scratch which is what I crave the most but the food seemed simple and authentic just what I prefer I will return for a steak Budapest soon I would recommend this establishment who is searching for homemade comfort food ,huge portions and very reasonable prices.

What a bastion of culture. It’s very rare to find an old restaurant that has been kept so pristine. The art and decor or beautiful. The food is filling and unique. If you want to try something different definitely try this place when downriver,

I’ve been hearing about this place for a long time, and we decided to give it a shot. Good food, but slightly overrated. Certainly a homemade taste, but food was a little cold and seemed to be played and served. Food is always better when it is made to order, but still a great place to enjoy authentic cuisine.

This is the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. The food was delicious. It made me feel like I was back home with my grandmother and my father. I grew up on Hungarian food and they had all my favorite dishes. The deserts are excellent. You will not walk away hungry. Thank you .

True Hungarian cuisine, fabulous server (Kristina), large portions, fast service, phenomenal desserts, and a multitude of cultural artifacts displayed throughout the restaurant!!! Parking was sufficient and all employees we spoke with were welcoming, respectful and helpful! We definitely will return!!!

Amazing authentic food and amazing staff. Decided to visit for my belated birthday and couldn't be happier. Portions are insane, so we have plenty of leftovers for our stay!

The food is delicious! We went for Thanksgiving dinner, and for our table of 12 hungry adults, they would bring out 2 bowls of each dish. Our waiter did very well keeping up with us. In the end, they gave us 1 bill to be split up evenly between credit/debit cards so families with kids were paying the same as single people. Big mess!

This place was absolutely fantastic. The service was excellent and food was delicious. I got the combination platter because wanted to try as much new stuff as I could. The combination platter comes with a breaded pork chop, stuffed cabbage and paprika chicken. All were delicious. The other members of the party got the goulash which was also reported as very good. It’s not often for me where the food is so good I stuff myself to the brim but I did here and it was worth it. Highly recommend this place.

Best mushroom soup I've ate. Beet salad is excellent with layers of flavor. Stuffed cabbage and wiener schnitzel were outstanding. Decor is true to the 50-60's vibe, but clean and neat. The doll collection is worth a look.
