The food and the service both were excellent. From all the tiny little things, we can tell the team was doing their best to serve their customer. Their home made orange tea is very fresh. All the dishes were delicious, we especially like the French bread pudding with caramel. We saw many customers ordered it and we didn't regard to follow. The local fish was outside crispy and inside juice. The texture of the fish is like cod fish. The toilet was something that amazed us. It has hot tap water so we can wash hand warmheartedly. The usual water tap in public toilet were cold water which could make our hand freeze easily. Love this small restaurant full of surprises and nice retro decoration for people who are born in the 60s-80s.

I cannot say enough how highly I enjoyed our experience here. I had been five years ago and remembered little but the charm of our server and the interior of the restaurant. Seldom to be repeated is such a serendipitous visit as my first. But our visits this year were just as lovely, if not moreso. The service is thoughtful and superb, the food delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is at the same time boiserous, life-filled and cozy. We loved to linger over our wine (and coffee and dessert). I won’t attempt to name the items we ate but the plate for the Indecisive is always a win for a first time. There’s nothing I cannot recommend. Thank you, La Boîte aux Lettres! PS: we were able to walk-in once, but I recommend a reservation

Great energy and service from Regina! We headed to this restaurant after visiting the Basilica at the top of the hill. The restaurant is ~10 mins from the Basilica, which is a great option if you’re looking for a dining place after your visit. We were served by Regina, who patiently explained the menu in English since the menu’s in French. She also explained what was good and gave great recommendations. She was also observant enough to observe a problem we had with the steak, and promptly got this changed. Great job Regina!

Absolute gem of a place. To start with, the staff was super kind and fast with the food. We had a couple of starters and the chicken supreme. Portion size for the starters was good, taste and presentation super nice. Chiken supreme, the serving was a bit small for my taste, I would have preferred to eat more, the risotto was amazing. But the absolute showstopper was the French toast, I am unfortunately not able to call food perfect very often, but I am happy to say that this was absolutely perfect in my opinion, the right texture, the right temperature, the right amount of sweetness, my only criticism was the portion size, but only because I wanted to eat more.

Wow! What a dinner we had at La Boite aux Lettres. Def take advantage of making a reservation, as this tiny restaurant gets packed in the evening. Our dinner was fabulous. I had the steak dish with get most delicious sauce and mashed potatoes. I ate every bite and could have still had more. Def worth a trip to Montmontre to have dinner here. PS don't be in hurry, as this is a tiny restaurant with limited staff, but you'll be glad to wait once your food arrives.

The starters and the desserts are the best. The main course is okay and could have been better. The wine selection is very good and the service was also good.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this French restaurant, and it truly had the best location in the heart of Paris. The moment I stepped in, I was enveloped in a cozy and romantic atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the evening. The food was nothing short of delightful. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, and the flavors danced on my palate. The wine selection was excellent, enhancing the overall dining experience. What stood out just as much as the food and ambiance was the lovely service. The staff was attentive and made us feel truly special throughout the evening. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the bustling city of Paris, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a romantic, unforgettable dining experience. It's the perfect place to savor the essence of French cuisine and create beautiful memories.

This was the first resturant my family and I ate at since starting our holiday in France and it has set very high expectations for the rest of our trip. Everything was fantastic, the food, service and atmosphere. It's worth the extra 5 minute walk away from the prominent tourist areas to dine here.

This is a charming little restaurant with a very pleasant server and amazing food. My partner and I visited for lunch without a reservation right as they opened and were lucky to have a table. We went with the menu and had an entrée, main, and dessert. Everything we had was delicious - I especially enjoyed the foie gras sauce served with the beef course and the parsnip soup was perfect for a chilly day. I’d love to come back here again.

RECOMMENDED! (No baby friendly though and service depends on the waiter) The food: We ordered the foie gras de canard with chutney pomme/poire and the poireau sauce miso (entrées) and the Onglet de boeuf sauce foie gras (plats). For dessert we had the fondant au chocolat. Everything was delicious!! My husband loved the duck foie gras with the pear, apple and pepper chutney/jam. We also drank wine which was excellent. (!! The second time we went we ordered meat - asked for medium, brought medium rare -) The place: The place is nice and has outdoor seating. I suggest making a reservation. We showed up a little early so luckily we got a table. The staff was efficient and friendly the first time we went; second time a bit slow. -> I don’t think the place is baby friendly. There’s no changing table. I had to change a diaper and they let me do it in an unused area from the restaurant where there was an empty table. -> The bathroom is small but clean.

Love this place. I dined here two nights. Small, cozy, exceptional service, lovely food. The soup was inspiring and sauces tucked me into bed nicely.

What an excellent restaurant with such delicious food. It feels like I was eating in someone’s home. The staff were so friendly, service was great too. The sauce on the beef was mind blowing.

The best meal I had in Paris. Prices are right, service is friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. The menu changes, but every bite has such taste. Definitely recommend the pain perdu or "French toast" for dessert. I went to other "fancier" restaurants, but they did not even compare with this one. Reservations recommended.

We got very lucky to get a table and I'm so glad we did. This was the best meal we had while visiting Paris. The service was great and everyone was so friendly and took the time to explain the menu. Can't wait to come back.

Fantastic and authentic place in the heart of Montmartre which welcomes you with friendly people and really tasty french classics with some twist. Both in summer and winter the place is filled with people who enjoy good quality to price balance. Definitely will be back. ❤️

This little bistro being distant from the touristic Montmartre is always packed with locals and tourists. I had a dinner here second time around last week and enjoyed our dinner as much as I did my last time! It’s nice to receive the same quality of meal, efficient services and homely and relaxing atmosphere as last time which was a year ago. This is a kind of place I would like to go back like I am coming back home :)

Absolutely incredible. The steak is fantastic, the risotto is an excellent option for vegetarians, and the dessert sampler is some of the best food I've ever eaten. The staff was also very accomodating and friendly. This place is a must visit in Paris.

Best meal in Paris, hands down. We didn’t have a reservation, showed up at 10pm and it was completely packed with locals and tourists. A great vibe. We were very lucky to get seated. The staff are extremely busy and efficient, explained the menu, let us try the wines before pouring glasses. When our appetizer came out (“The indecisive” - chef’s selection of three appetizers: carrot veloute, terrine, beetroot hummus) they were very observant (without being obtrusive) so they knew exactly when to clear the table and fire the entrees. The star of the meal was the beef with fois gras and cognac sauce. Amazing. Enjoyed every bite, then was a bit sad/wistful when it was done. Didn’t have room for dessert, but others around us were quite audibly pleased. I have a feeling everything on the menu is top notch.

Only locals tell you about this place. Go and experience amazing Irish history. You will not be disappointed. So interesting and very close to Guiness.

We didn't have a reservation for lunch and arrived a little before 12 PM on Saturday. We were welcomed by very friendly staff which spoke perfect English. Our food came very quickly and it was delicious. The portion size was very fair for the price. Definitely would recommend if you are around the Sacre Coeur area.

The high reviews are well deserved. The service is fast. The waitress was very helpful. Loved the food! I don’t think pictures can capture how amazing the food is at this restaurant. I had the soup of the day. With pieces of bread, the soup was just so perfect. I had the chorizo risotto. Yummmm. I’m so tempted to come back, if only it was closer to my hotel.

Best meal we had in Paris! Can't reccomend it enough. Everything was perfect and the host was lovely. Risotto was 5stars and the fish with the carrot pure was incredible. Atmosphere was cosy and the SuperNintendo downstairs brought us so much nostalgia. I advise people to make a reservation prior, or to be here on opening hours (12a.m. i think). Merci, from Portugal 🇵🇹
