A great spa and lovely hotel with beautiful area around. What we liked: - helpful and friendly staff. Especially reception and restaurant - modern design, a lot of wood and very stylish hotel - spa complex is huge, well maintained and clean. You can easily spend the whole day there. - dinner at Poterne restaurant was amazing: food presentation , service, atmosphere - all was great. We really enjoyed it. - breakfast is good including a small a la carte menu, but it’s the same every day, so after 2 days it will be difficult to eat the same things. Can be more veggies to be added like avocado, bell pepper etc. Coffee was very good. What we didn’t like: - there is no information in English or German, everything everywhere in Dutch only - the hotel room has a bit of smell, like it doesn’t dry properly, so it was the smell of dampness - they serve plastic straws, that’s not cool. It’s paper or metal straws almost everywhere these days. - Food in spa restaurant was not good, especially burger. Meat was from supermarket and cooked to well done :( - People were breaking rules in spa, for example with limitation of 2 ppl in jacuzzi, it will be 4 or in sauna it says 8, but will be 12 and nobody controls or checks it. So it’s disappointing. Also people were wearing flip flops inside sauna and even step on bench wearing them and again nobody checks and fixes such rules violation.

We loved it! The place was great, the service was good, the food was delicious and all facilities were operational. The reason why it's 4/5 stars is the limited amount of parking which forced us to park next to a nearby field. There's always room for improvement

We bought the romantic package to celebrate our wedding anniversary. And everything was fine until the nightfall. We decided to have a walk during the sunset and when we were walking by the fort wall a worker run and follow us yielding that we should be naked. Even in rules noted that we should wear at least towel during walk by the corridors and between locations. It was so rude! All impression was ruined in a second 😞

I really don't recommend this spa. Not enough parking spaces, staff is rude and unprofessional, spa is outdated.

Spa anyone? Awesome variety of facilities, sauna's, treatments, and more! Very worth a while to visit and even more to spend a weekend! We had the suite (it's HUGE) and the hotstone & Hammam treatments: the staff was über polite, professional, friendly, and fun! It will get pricey if you eat/drink here, however, it's worth the investment! Great food and selection! In general the majority of the visitors are about 35+, it can get busy at times but it doesn't dampen the experience. Will we return? YES!!!!

Wow! I’m sad to write this as the venue is stunning but the service and the GM communication is appalling. I’ve received a gift for a relaxing massage with my mother in-laws and the treatment was lacking of touch (so to say). I’ve asked for over five times to have a bit more pressure so I can feel relaxed though was left to feel in the pet shop at petting hour 😫 We’ve shared our experience with the GM and we’re shocked with the response received. “That’s what the therapist is capable of doing” and we should accept it. Needless to say, we won’t come back until new GM is placed!

Unfortunately not so good experience! The place looks amazing so we decided to go there with my friends for a massage! We all booked the service online but something went wrong with my booking and it was cancelled on their system but the money was not reimbursed to me! They couldn't solve the problem via phone so I told them that I am gonna go anyway with my friends and maybe we can find a solution! At the end they gave the money back in cash but they didn't have too much effort to make it up for me! I was the one who tried to find a solution.. at least they were flexible to agree to share one of the massage so I could have at least 25 min massage! There was no "sorry for the mistake" ... the massage was good, but I think they should be more customer-focused!

Literally the best spa we have been in our lives! From the indoor & outdoor facilities, to the massages and overall service. The hotel and restaurant are also great: big rooms and bathroom, cute terrace; breakfast, food & wine were incredible. A beautiful and charming location. Highly recommended for a relaxing time out of the city :)

Our first time here yesterday. Having been to several other saunas in the area I can say that this one is at the top of the list. Very clean, nice staff and relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed the way the place is laid out and the restaurant staff and food does not disappoint. We'll be returning soon to enjoy the decompression after a busy week.

Excellent spa with lots of saunas and 3 hot pools outdoors. The Wellness restaurant was very good and surprisingly decently priced.

The stuff nice but they stress us in the check out. The shock was in the spay. Because they don’t mention in the booking and in the google it’s naked spa. That’s why we cancel the spa but if we know that I would not come there.

Went for the wellness, was really good atmosphere. Loved the little Bali vibe, but felt that it was seriously missing resting spots to lie down inside, there were few water beds inside but all were full quickly. They had a lot of resting spots outside but it is too cold to lie outside in between saunas. But saunas were clean and well maintained. Also went for the organised sauna with rain of eucalyptus and herbs which was really good!

A great place to spend a day in saunas and regenerate. Very well done massages. Clean, great service and delicious dishes in the restaurant.

The spa is great, even though it was full of people it didn’t actually seem too crowded anywhere and the saunas were nice and quiet. We really enjoyed both the 4-course dinner and a delicious breakfast menu, and all together it felt like good value for money. We were a bit disappointed with the room though, and especially found it weird the toilet was just in the room with no door at all - if I go back I’d probably call to make sure to get a room where that’s not the case… The service is mixed, some staff are really nice and others kind of rude. In general not a place where they seem used to English-speaking guests.

Very nice spa. The ambiance is really cool in the Fort and everything is clean and tidy. Even though it was Christmas holiday it wasn't extremely busy. Specially during the morning it was still rather quiet. The floating bath is amazing. We couldn't make the infrared sauna work but might have been us. All other sauna's very warm and diversely. The little island on the other side is a very cool spot to go to as well and not many people go there it looked like. Definitely will come back and recommended to go to.

Lovely resort , nice creative areas. Jungle sauna was impressive and the entire little Bali island too. We enjoyed it it was not too crowded. Never had to squeeze with other people. What I missed was so scrub salt and body lotion. That’s why 4 stars

Fort Resort Beemster is one of the best spa and wellness / hotel destinations in The Netherlands. Impressive facilities for complete unwind and reset of body and mind. Complimented by a restaurant that serves gastronomic experiences. The rooms are comfortable and nicely designed. Fort Beemster used to be a bunker, which is also pretty cool, if you see what they've done with the place. I'm not a spa lover or anything but Fort Beemster changed my view on taking a sauna or hamam treatment every once in a while.

Great facilities. Can spend here all day quite happily. Would recommend highly for anyone looking for a spa in the local area and beyond.

Edit: we had some complaints on technical issues in the room which were handled as soon as possible. We also received extensive apologies, which is very appreciated. The wellness part was very nice. Be aware that a lot of pools and saunas are outside, some people like it, some not. Food in the wellness restaurant was mediocre. The menu looked pretty interesting but the 3 dishes we ordered were not tasty.

Pro's: average person is okay. No voyeurs, awkward peekers, or fools making stunts Con's: it still feels like a fort/bunker, so not exactly a relaxing sensation. Parking spaces are too few, so you may have to arrange a spot outside, close to a cliff. No English descriptions/signs

Beautiful spa, spacious and large sauna options. Lunch and dinner options also widely available. The only complaint I have is the dressing rooms. It is one space for men and women. The space is split in two with screens on bathing suit days, but as there is no door, it all feels very awkward and uncomfortable.

Amazing sauna and experience! Never felt more relaxed ever before, staff is really friendly and helpful with any questions. Rooms are clean and cozy, food was great at the restaurants. Overall 10/10 experience

We visit this Spa regularly. Location wise it is realy nice. We like this place since it is big enough to be able to provide high level services (treatments, restaurant and many sauna's) but small enough to keep it cosy. We realy like the atmosphere and easiness of the kind of people visiting this location. Other places tend to have a high "look at me" attitude. Whereas at Fort Beemster it is more respect and kindness, realy relaxing! They could do more explaining the visitors about the energy saving, water reussage and other environmental technics they implemented behind the scenes in order to provide this relaxing atmosphere. Especially nowadays it is nice to know that your footprint on such a relaxing day is even brought back to minimums....

Several saunas, the wellness department was excellent. The restaurant serves excellent food at a reasonable price and the staff are ever so kind. We had a sport massage as well as a hot stone massage. Excellent. We will be back next holiday.

My favorite sauna! If I could allow myself I would go there once a week.. the place is clean and relaxing. The restaurant have alot of options i am missing more badkleding dagen… a-lot of people are not comfortable being naked all day.

Pros: Friendly and polite staff, visitors well behaved, lovely environment. Cons: Far too busy. Was looking forward to this anniversary spa visit, yet it was kind of stressful due to the sheer amount of nude traffic. Also, because it was so busy, there was virtually no space to hang one's towel on wall hooks (anywhere - outside restaurant / outside saunas, etc). This gave the impression of lack of hygiene (one's towel would be touching next to - or on top of, or underneath other towels). Would have been a nicer experience if there would have been less crowded.
