It may seem another Mediterranean restaurant has opened in The Hague however Medi is anything but. The owners actually like to call it a lifestyle rather than a restaurant and I believe that, they are doing a pretty good job in bringing the Mediterranean lifestyle to The Hague. I may have been a bit skeptical before visiting this place, because what is a Mediterranean restaurant? Are they serving Greek tapas, French Pizzas, or a random mix of Mediterranean dishes? We visited Medi with a group of nine people to celebrate the 30th wedding anniversary of my parents. At the entrance of the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed by Dominque, “one of the two owners of Medi”. The restaurant has a robust yet warm ambiance, which made us feel welcome right away. Shortly after being seated at a nicely decorated table, we started off the evening with an appetizing glass of Cava. During this evening, we were served a great variety of mouthwatering dishes. The dishes are influenced by different Mediterranean cuisines which definitely complement each other, not to forget about the delicious pairing wines . Medi is a shared dining concept that is in itself an adventure for your taste buds. We got to taste so many different dishes which you wouldn’t order in a traditional restaurant. The quality of the ingredients was great, everything tasted fresh, the dishes looked stunning and the service was exceptional. Coming back to my initial doubts before visiting Medi, it is anything but a random mix of Mediterranean dishes. The owners have done an awesome job in developing this concept. Medi is the place to be if you have to celebrate something but it is also a great venue for a casual dinner for two. I highly recommend The Medi lifestyle to anyone who visits The Hague. Definitely a place to visit when in The Hague! Amazing food, great service and the best staff. We came as a group and enjoyed the whole menu from top to bottom. The intimate atmosphere and attention to detail in service and decoration created the perfect vibe for our dinner. Hats off to you!

Amazing food! I went there with a friend and a family member and we loved it. Very nice ambience, cute decor and extremely nice staff. The tables have been decorated with cute flowers and a nice light, which lightens the table perfectly. The food tasted amazing. I would highly recommend, the carrots, secreto iberico, pulpo and the best dessert: the brioche!! Highly recommend visiting this place!

Loving the living room!! Staff was super friendly and food was truly divine. We especially enjoyed the sea bass and the pulpo. I usually never order dessert but here we even ordered two and we were not disappointed. I would recommend to anyone visiting the Hague!

Food was ok, service also good, until the moment to pay. We ordered 5 dishes, but only got 4, which were fine for us since we were both full anyway. On the bill the one we didn't get (aubergine) was still on there so I pointed it out. I don't recall getting any apologies, but only remember being questioned as if I was lying to get free food... Eventually did get the updated bill, but was not a nice experience to be suspected like that. Update: the restaurant called and apologised just now, I do appreciate that. It doesn't change how i felt last night, but at least it shows they care and act upon their customers feedback. thats worth something. I'm sure mine is an exceptional case, since most others had 5 star experience there. So I would still recommend this restaurant. Whether it matches all the good reviews or not, you should go experience it yourself.

We had carrots in yoghurt, salmon tartare, roasted pulpo and artichokes. All of them were very tasty but the very light dill and fennel taste in salmon tartare and the touch of tahini in the sauce for the carrots were delightful! It’s not like any other Mediterranean place, Medi has a kind but very authentic touch of middle eastern and mediterranean kitchen. Amazing!

Very nice Mediterranean tapas restaurant! All the dishes were very tasty but quite small and expensive. The service was friendly and attentive! The atmosphere of the place could be better. The tables were placed were very close to each other and the lighting was really minimal for dining. The beef cheeks and the Medi mezze were very tasty!

It’s a fantastic place, I loved it so much!.. All food was very delicious and wines too, including those served by glasses. I’m planning to become a frequent visitor. Please, don’t change! 😁🙏🏻🌟

Stumbled upon this restaurant when browsing for dinner options. The mediterranean menu is innovative. We had the scallop ceviche and octopus to start with. Then the day special (T-bone steak 500gr) with roasted potatoes on the side. They also served the steak with sherry jus on the side which complemented it very well. Finished it off with ruby chocolate cake and some sorbet/gelato. Lovely atmosphere with dim lighting. Great service.

4.5/5 There are a lot of restaurants with a shared dining/tapas concept now and MEDI is so far my favorite. The dishes are really creative, super tasty and the owners have the cutest story ever. The place had a nice atmosphere and I imagine it'd be perfect for date nights. We were only 2 people, but luckily, we were hungry enough that we could try out a lot of the dishes from their menu. We had the green goddess aubergine, carciofi alla romana, carrots au yaourt, leek calcotada, sea bass and the bonless short ribs. My favorite was the aubergines: the roasted nuttiness of aubergines was brought out with the maple syrup dressing and the added pine nuts and pistacho provided extra salt and umami. Broccolini in the leek dish was still alive, not cooked to death (unlike what you get in most places). Sea bass was cooked really nicely as well, although I found the hummus to be a bit unnecessary. The ribs were soft and juicy and melted in your mouth, just as it should be. For dessert, we went for the Medi mezze plate because we couldn't choose between their dessert options. I liked their sourdough pita but the pickled tomato dip was a winner!! Really interesting flavor. I went for a Verdejo to wash down the food, to stick to the Mediterranean theme. It fits most of the dishes on their menu, I think. I wish they had more glass options though. Then it'd be a solid 5/5 place for me ;) My friend tried their cocktail Dos Hermanos, and that's how we found out about their story actually. Apparently, Medi is owned by 2 really close friends of Dutch and Chinese backgrounds who became inseparable, almost like brothers (Dos Hermanos) rest of their cocktail menu tells their story as they have families and see their kids grow. A final shotout to our lovely waiter Collin (spelling ?) Who had a Scottish background and an interest in Spanish language :) He was super attentive and kind, and patient enough to explain every single dish in a detailed way. Overall, we had a great time at MEDI and enjoyed our meal a lot. Will definitely come back again.

came here once as a group of 4 and loved it so much that we came back with more people later in the week as a group of 7. service was excellent both times. highly recommend the green goddess aubergine (we had to order more both times!) and the roast beef was amazing. also had amazing help from the staff with selection of a wine and didn’t fuss when we requested to split the bill. overall, the best meal(s) i had in the hague and would highly recommend!

Great waiters who were very helpful in selecting wine and dishes. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and very personal approach. We even got to speak to the head chef who explained a bit more about the menu and was excited to talk to us. Would definitely come back here!

The aubergine was delicious and worth trying, will go again to eat it for sure. The ribs were not flavorful and not recommended. The pulpo could have been more flavorful too. Seabass was delicious and the sauce next to it was tasty. The atmosphere was great except for the music, it was loud and did not have any theme. Random songs were played

This restaurant was exceptional! The food was amazing and the waitress was very nice as well. I suggest you try the aubergine (which was amazing), the ceviche or the sea bass, which are the ones that I remember the best, but every single dish we ordered was delicious. It's definitely worth a visit!

Very good experience! The duck and Guinea fowl was the absolute star of the show, super well balanced dish with incredible favours. Super helpful staff, knowledgeable and very kind. The bathroom is not accessible with a mobility assistance device, but it’s spectacularly clean and in the women’s bathroom there are tampons available (nice touch!). Our only down point was the chocolate cake - the lemon tart had run out, and that is l 100% ok, but offering a lava cake, which then turns out to be a regular, very chewy cocoa cake is not a great move. The berries sorbet was to die for and the pistacchios on top very generous!

Really delicious food and great hosts. If you only go to one restaurant in The Hague, make sure it is here. I will come back again and again. It's like going to visit good friends who are also unbelievable chefs. Couldn't recommend it more.

Good and friendly service, with a very attractive chef. We loved the mezze, specially the smoky aubergine hummus. The octopus and the aubergine dishes were very tasty. Well cooked octopus, with a buttery mash. We finished with the meat dishes, but I found those less exciting. Bavette needed more seasoning, and the lamp rolls needed a little more crunch. The portions could be slightly larger for the price, but for us it was just enough. We are definitely coming back again to try the other dishes.

I went here with my girlfriend for our anniversary dinner, the service was excellent and friendly. The food was absolutely amazing and the flavours were fresh and well balanced. Great ambience and atmosphere! Would recommend to anyone wanting a special dinner or nice evening with great food!

Great Mediterranean place in the center of The Hague. Love the atmosphere with the exposed bricks. Service was extremely welcoming and friendly. The mezze as a starter was delicious. Yummy breads, smokey eggplant dip and amazing charred peppers! Main courses included duck with çharred leek, an Israeli rice and yoghurt dish, super succulent beef and another dish which I forgot. Last, but not least had a lavender flavored creme brulé, which was the bomb!!! Loved the shared dining concept. One of my favourite places in The Hague.
