Affordable home style restaurant with an entree+plat+dessert costing €31. Yummy food; we got the escargots, the ouefs en merrette (a must), Poulet with ceps sauce with a delicious potato dauphinois and crepe Suzette. The service was great and it was bustling on the Friday night we went. Recommended (:

The restaurant is located centrally. It is near the market area called des halles.  The weather was good so we sat on the terrace which is a good size. There was a few choices when it came to the menu. First of all you have the a la carte menu which is on the table mat. You  have a choice of starters, meats, fish, cheese and deserts. There is also an extensive wine list but we were not drinking so cant comment but given the region it is likely they are very good.  You also have a choice of chef specials or recommended dishes. The Asparagus was very good.  I myself ordered the snails and followed with beef filet with a lovely sauce and a wonderful gratin. The chicken is highly recommended. You can also ordered a set menu of 2 courses or 3 if you are hungry. The price works out well if you do this. Finally the deserts are good and would recommend the tarte tatin. For two people our bill was 70 euros which was good value for the lovely food. Simple and delightful.

My wife and I went here on April 8, and arrived just before they opened at 7 pm. Good thing they were able to squeeze us in, as we did not have a reservation. The place was quickly packed. Food was absolutely amazing, and I highly recommend it. Very good quality French food!

Our dining experience at Chez Léon in Dijon, France was nothing short of magnificent. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance promised an evening of romance and exquisite dining. The hand-written wine list was a testament to the personal touch they imbue in every aspect of their service, offering a selection of delectable wines that perfectly complemented each course. The escargot was a dance of flavors, while the steak and chicken dishes were executed to perfection, showcasing the chef’s prowess in blending traditional and contemporary culinary arts. Every bite was a symphony of taste, elevating the dining experience to new heights. The staff at Chez Lyon exudes professionalism and warmth. Their proficiency in English ensured communication, enhancing our comfort and enjoyment throughout the evening. In the heart of Dijon, Chez Lyon stands as a beacon of fine dining, marrying impeccable service, a romantic atmosphere, and culinary masterpieces that promise an unforgettable experience. A must-try for anyone seeking to indulge in the epitome of French cuisine.

Every food was so delicious Staffs were very kind even they had to serve so many tables One woman staff seemed very stressful and she showed this stress to the guests. It would be nice with smile. Because people came and pay for the food with joy

The outdoor seating is very nice, no wind, heaters are on if needed. The dishes are quite good. The components of dishes are fresh. One waitress is nice, another one is very artificial. Good atmosphere. My personal opinion and again unfortunately, prices are not matching the experience. I will definitely not visit this place second time. Ratings are below (1 - worse, 5 - the best): The overall food is good - 3+/5. Service is medium - 3/5. Atmosphere is nice - 4/5. Prices of food and drinks are quite high - 2/5. Overall - medium experience.

This is review by a non French speaking visitor, this place is a friendly and exceptionally tasty family establishment run by 4th generation. It's very popular with locals, so booking is necessary. All dishes I saw around me looked (smell) great. We went for a perfect poached egg soaked in delicious red wine sauce and a foie Gras terrain as a starter. For the main, tartar and Cote de Veau Française. Needless to say, all left with clean plates. If we were staying longer in Dijon, I would love to go again to try other menu.

Great food and service, I had the escargots followed by the boeuf bourguignon. Both of which were fantastic, the beef was cooked perfectly. To finish, I enjoyed the fondant au chocolat which was equally enjoyable.

Warm and welcoming restaurant. Lovely wine list with options for all price points. Nice to have bottle or pitcher options too. Escargot and foie gras top notch. Steak and chicken so perfectly cooked and desserts worth feeling stuffed for. Would highly recommend and return.

The food was excellent, no faults at all. However, the waitress was unpleasant as originally we went to the restaurant the night before to book a table and when giving the waitress our contact information, she said "hurry up I'm busy" in a rude manner and seemed annoyed by our presence when we actually dined in the restaurant. Personally as someone who has previously worked in hospitality, I deem this an unacceptable approach to speak to customers who are ultimately providing business. It really ruined my mood on the night as a tourist visiting Dijon, with this my only unpleasant experience. It's a shame as the food was lovely, and if it wasn't for the attitude of the waitress, it would have been an overall amazing experience.

The food was tasty and very French, the place was packed and only two people serve, yet, they were efficient. We had two white wine, both good. The only comment is no English manual, but thanks to the pictures and the waitress understood us, Lol.

Delighted by this local gem! The dishes are rich in flavor and generously portioned, showcasing the best of local cuisine. Service is top-notch – friendly and efficient. It's wise to book in advance as this popular spot fills up quickly. Don't miss the desserts, each a delicious finale to an outstanding meal. Highly recommend for an authentic and satisfying dining experience!

Authentic French cuisine with nice wine options. It has a village feeling (i.e. not fine dining), which is what we enjoyed. The new potatoes were particularly excellent.

Love this place. The escargots are juicy and well accompanied by the sauce. The boeuf bourgogne is tasty with the fragrance of wine. The waiter recommended me a vin blanc which is super soft and mellow in the mouth! Also the dessert is just right. Everything is perfect!

with 5 others we went for a Friday evening dinner. only one word describes it WOW. Sitting outside under heaters watching the world go by we had a memorable meal, great wine and lots of fun. I cannot recommend this to strongly. Looking forward to going back on next visit to Dijon

Very nice meal, good quality food. Can't say the same about the service, which was sub par. The price of the dishes were higher higher I would have expected. Don't accept the water as this was €6 on the bill! A real shame

Absolutely superb. Incredible wine list, friendly staff and sensational food. We have been travelling throughout Europe and the food here was as good as at 2 Michelin Star restaurants. Merci to the great team at Chez Léon!

One of the best meals of my life. The beef bourguignon was exceptional and if you're only in Dijon once, this is the place. Save room for the tarte tatin, if you can. Just an exceptional old school bistrot.

Food is delicious, meat is just melting in mouth. And the personnel is very friendly and English speaking. Not surprising that place is so popular. Highly recommend to book a table.
