It is difficult to express in words just how beautiful and magical this chateau is. Whoever said it was "run down" is out of their mind. Stepping into the foyer is like stepping back in history. Roland is the nicest man and is a lovely and humble host. There are 11th century paintings on the wall, a room that I called "Mini Versailles," exquisite rooms with antique furnishings, and beautiful grounds that include a barn with cartoons created by WWII soldiers. I have never slept in a more beautiful place. I wish we could have stayed more than 1 night. We will visit again someday.

This is a beautiful Chateau set in its own grounds and surrounded by a moat. It's a magical place to spend a night if a little run down. Roland the host is charming, attentive and very welcoming and for us made the visit. The beds were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. To be able to spend the night here was magical and make sure you investigate the barn to see the cartoons on the wall drawn by ww2 American pilots.

Family owned chateau, modified over the years, stood in a moat. The chateau is still occupied and furnished, some rooms available on a B&B basis. It is not open to casual visits, but the owner shows arranged groups around. There are some interesting things to see but what comes across is the difficulty and expense of trying to keep such an onerous historic building going. In the UK it would be in the hands of the National Trust (or derelict). Overall a little sad.

Superb!! A rather special and unique place, steeped in layers of history right back to 12th century; visited the house and grounds, courtesy of the charming Count Roland and his extremely knowledgeable friend Lorcan. A gem!

It was an amazing experience! The castle is gorgeous with a lot of details and at the same time so cozy. You can enjoy all rooms in the castle. Beauty from the past and modern comfort. Owner gave us bicycles and we have discovered picturesque places. We were with a dog, and everything were good. I also recommend to use a jacuzzi.

A very cool place! We looked at some other chateau's in the area, but this one genuinely feels like a castle. It was so charming and so elegant, but also had the age and character of a place that's been around a long long time. There were some parts of it that felt like they were falling apart and I'm sure it's a nightmare to maintain something this large and old, but the rooms were in good shape and they had a few different types of rooms for different experiences. We stayed in the Charles the fourth room and enjoyed it. We arrived late so thankfully we stopped for some pizza from a local food truck before our arrival, but when we got there Alexi welcomed us and gave us some rosé from his family's vineyard and showed us to our room. We had two windows/mini-balconies that we could open and look out over the moat. There were two churches nearby that we could hear the bells ringing in the morning. Our host showed us the chapel before we left which was really cool and then showed us in the stables where a soldier from world war II drew some cartoons on the wall which was another cool piece of history. In the back they have a hot tubal though I don't know if it was operational while we were there and they also have a gigantic 240-year-old tree which was really cool to walk around.

Fantastic historic venue still run be the original family. Rooms and grounds are open to guests, and it's like staying in a living museum. Owners have recently put in in a hot tub which is in the ground's garden and a lovely spot to spend the evening with a drink! Driving is recommended given the remote nature. Breakfast was very average however.
