Banff visitor centre should be the first place to head when arriving to banff. The staff is very helpful, providing excellent information. what places to see, and must places to see. If one is taking the ONIT transportation up to Banff. The $10 CAD one way trip cost also includes the local Roam bus in the city of Banff. Otherwise . It will cost an adult $2. CAD. This is still a bargain. I highly recommend going to sulfur mountain and taking the gondola or for those that want to save some $$$. It would take nearly 2 1/2 hours to trek up the rough pathway. Is it worth it? YES!!!! I spent a nice day trip to Banff. It cost me $20.00 round trip taking the ONIT transport from Calgary. FYI. It only operates Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It obvious the price is subsidized. If one travels to Banff, Monday to Thursday, expect to pay $45.00 CAD one way. Besides the excellent staff at the visitor centre, The centre has clean restroom. Enjoy Banff, you will not regret it!

Friendly and informative Parks Canada staff, official merchandise of Parks Canada, clean public washroom. Very neat building that was originally the only permanent school in Banff. Highly recommended stopping by to explore the history and learn more about what the area may offer.

Entry to Banff National Park. A world famous heritage location for nature, and wildlife to explore. You may go into the wild and explore it to its length. Caution: please do not forget to wear hiking shoes before leaving your house. Please bring some emergency tools with you such as rope, torch, some siren etc. If you are going to Bear prone area and looking for camping ground, inform relevant authorities before moving. Make sure you use a bonfire near your camping ground at night. All the best👌✌️👍

Helpful and friendly staff here. They also have 8 dedicated EV charging stalls with a 3hr time limit. Great area to stop and get a meal while getting your car topped with free clean hydro power.

Banff has been at the very top of my bucket list of mountain/hiking towns for years. I finally made it and it cried leaving. My bag will be bigger when I return.

The gentleman we spoke with was such a great help! After a few introductory questions about how long we'll be in town and what were in the mood to do, he pulled out a local map and a highlighter pen and got to work. He was a fountain of great local knowledge! He gave easy to understand directions and encouraged us to consider some activities we hadn't thought about. I am so glad we did! We took a scenic drive and saw some amazing wildlife. He suggested the Cave & Basin Park - totally worth going. With new knowledge of the area in hand, we headed out for a trip full of insider tips and places to go. I am so grateful to the staff at this Visitor Center! It was a clean friendly place to pop in and get maps or just use the restroom.

Great place for everyone. Brings you close to nature and forget everything. Short drive from Calgary. Just the drive itself is worth it. Great small town vibes with beautiful nature as the backdrop.

World Class tourist stop. If you have not been to Banff it is a must-do. Do not be surprised if you see wild animals like deer, moose, elk or occasional bear, wolf. Give them lots of space and enjoy the magic of the moment.

Lots of info., we’ll organized. Right on the main drag. A must stop to get your hiking and biking plans in order! Right downtown!

  • 4/5 C P. 1 year ago on Google
There’s an accessible entrance around the side. There’s an accessible bathroom when you first enter. The elevator to the Parks office is old and sketchy. You have to push and hold a button to move the elevator. The door has to be manually opened. It’s too small a space to move around. The rest of the space is spacious. Staff are friendly. There’s Parks Canada merchandise for sale.

I was here 25 years ago and came back for a return visit. The town of Banff is mot a little village serving visitors. It is Hell-on-earth with a big city style downtown. The streets around the visitor centre are closed. There is no parking lot. There is paid parking all around the visitor centre. Maybe it should be relocated on the outskirts of town for people who want to visit wild places and get information. Update: after more research I found the Banff Train Station, 327 Railway Av, at the NW corner of town has a Parks Canada Visitor Centre and free parking.

It’s where nature really praises God. The views are unbelievable, it’s mostly a straight road with clearly marked exits. It cost $21 dollar for our car and we were 3people so I thought that was reasonable. You get a discount for the gondola ride with any Alberta ID (yay locals).. what I don’t get is this culture of taking ride pictures and then charging a whole lot to print it out each, if it was made into a fridge magnet or something I will definitely want it but who wants a hard copy photo for $25 please 🙄🙄. Also visited Lake Louise which was 45mins drive from banff, if you want the lake view go in summer cause it was completely frozen but they built a cute castle on the lake which was cool for pictures and the famous Hotel Fairmont 😍

Confusing, many steps to walk up. Once at the top it will be crowded. There are two stations to ask questions. You wait in line and find out your in the wrong line, and have to wait in the other. (Hint: the desk to the left is for reservations only. The one to the right is for directions.) Parking is awful. Good luck there. Only really good thing is that the Employees are very pleasant, and helpful. Needless to say Bamff will not see me again.

Gorgeous as always. It was a Saturday and we waited less than 10 minutes to buy our annual pass. The views are breathtaking.

  • 4/5 Bouddah P. 7 months ago on Google
Obviously the scenic view is stunning and did not disappoint. Downtown Banff is very crowded even if we went during and off-season time. Recommend driving out to different viewing points which are located along Tunnel Mountain road, where it's less crowed, parking is free, and it's actually in nature. Great experience!

Staff were absolutely fantastic. Spoke with us with extensive knowledge of everything we wanted to know about Banff and surrounding area. Most visitor centres are like that, mind you, but the one person we were with was a delight in addition to knowledgeable.

After a brief visit to Lake Louise we stopped by Banff for a bite to eat and a little bit of exploration. Nestled between a few mountains this town has fantastic views, and an exceptionally warm environment. Various shops and restaurants line the downtown area providing so many options for you to spend your time in. All the people in the shops we went into were extremely friendly, as well as those in the restaurants. Our time here was brief but I'll be sure to be back. If you're staying in Calgary this is well worth the drive to visit.
