This
hotel
has
some
excellent
amenities,
though
it
is
unfortunately
plagued
by
location
specific
problems.
For
example,
the
rooms
are
fantastic,
comfortable
and
spacious.
They
also
are
prone
to
wastewater
smells
coming
through
the
floor
drain
in
the
bathroom,
and
mosquitoes.
The
Cafe
is
very
nice,
with
a
decent
coffee
selection
and
a
wonderful
selection
of
patisserie.
The
Salmon
bagel
is
to
die
for.
However,
the
sheer
size
of
the
room
coupled
with
the
very
large
windows
(while
providing
a
fantastic
sunset
view
over
the
Red
Sea)
cause
the
area
to
be
heated
to
just
north
of
comfortable.
I
personally
enjoy
sitting
in
the
Cafe
environment
while
I
work,
but
I
can't
be
there
longer
then
15
minutes
without
starting
to
soak
through
my
clothes.
Admittedly,
I'm
prone
to
sweating,
but
my
colleagues
have
also
commented
on
it.
There
is
a
beautiful
piano
in
the
lobby
of
your
fingers
are
itchy,
though
the
strings
need
to
be
cleaned.
Many
of
the
most
common
notes
won't
sound
unless
you
strike
them
fairly
hard,
making
Soto
voce
difficult.
The
infinity
pools
are
gorgeous,
and
very
pleasant
to
relax
in,
though
it
can
be
awkward
if
you're
expecting
to
use
them
for
exercise.
The
pools
are
definitely
designed
for
luxuriating,
not
doing
laps.
That
said,
I'm
100%
planning
on
utilizing
some
of
the
design
techniques
when
I
get
home.
The
sky
bar
is
a
pleasant
lounge
area
to
spend
some
time,
and
offers
drinks,
snacks,
and
hookah.
It
also
has
a
commanding
view
of
the
area
from
the
balcony,
though
the
mosquitos
and
heat
make
it
unpleasant
even
after
10pm.
It
may
be
better
in
the
Dec-Jan?
I've
done
separate
reviews
on
the
Tentazione
and
Lac
Assal,
so
I
won't
mention
them,
and
I
haven't
been
to
the
casino
nor
the
seafood
beach
bar.
The
night
club
gets
wild,
but
only
after
2-230
am
and
it
has
a
cover
charge.
I
also
haven't
been
to
the
spa.
The
on
site
gym
is
fantastic,
and
is
one
of
the
best
hotel
gyms
I've
been
to.
It's
fairly
well
equipped,
has
good
climate
control,
and
looks
out
over
the
pool
and
the
Red
Sea.
Very
pleasant.
The
personnel
are
possibly
the
most
pleasant
part
of
the
Djiboutian
Kempinski.
I'm
afraid
my
complete
failure
with
names
will
keep
me
from
mentioning
the
people
who
really
stood
out
to
me.
One
of
the
bellhops
has
been
very
helpful
during
my
stay
(I
feel
awful
I
forgot
his
name
again),
and
Mahad
at
reception
has
been
great.
There's
another
man,
I
believe
he
may
be
a
manager,
who
has
been
very
pleasant
to
interact
with.
The
housekeeping
staff
has
also
been
quite
congenial,
though
I
felt
bad
when
I
realized
the
woman
I
had
been
speaking
to
wasn't
actually
able
to
understand
the
language
I
was
using.
She
was
very
good
at
guessing
what
I
was
asking
for
though!
The
only
irritating
policy
I've
observed,
is
if
you
have
your
do
not
disturb
sign
out
for
two
days,
they'll
call
you
to
see
if
you're
alive.
If
they
can't
get
ahold
of
you,
they
may
cancel
your
room
key
so
they
can
get
eye
contact
with
you
at
the
front
desk.
That
bit
hasn't
happened
to
me,
but
to
my
coworker
several
times.
I
prefer
to
have
my
room
serviced
every
three
days,
so
I
periodically
get
a
call
from
reception.
Finally,
there
is
a
magnificent
gazebo
at
the
end
of
the
pier
behind
the
Kempinski.
It
is
currently
in
a
state
of
disrepair,
and
it
seems
that
renovations
were
begun
on
it
and
the
path
out
to
it,
but
stopped.
I
wish
I
could
have
seen
it
finished,
as
it's
a
fantastic
spot
and
would
be
a
very
romantic
setting.
