This is spectacular. Besides the breath-taking view across the Mekong to Laos, the experience of being on a glass shelf jutting out from the mountain is sensational. But it’s also funny to witness the fear many people feel when they can see the floor of the forest 500 feet below them. This is definitely scary for many people; including the monks that took the tour. Many people cannot walk in the middle of the glass and only hold onto the side handrail, inching their way up to the lookout. You park the car at the bottom of the mountain inside the grounds of this stunning temple that looks like its floating on water. After purchasing a ticket, you hop inside the truck with about 10 other tourists and ride for a few minutes up the hill. There is another ticket to be purchased that gives you access to the glass sky-bridge once you have covered your shoes with soft socks. You are also given a colored MAKE A WISH satin ribbon that you can cast your luck upon and tie it to the balconies (see photos) Then it becomes a photographers paradise. Ingeniously they have erected 2 bright pink cherry blossom trees that makes it a colorful and exciting adventure. I recommend you then visit the temple next door as it has a very intelligent English speaking monk in attendance and a fascinating photographic exhibition of when the King visited the area.

I visited this view point on a weekday. It can only be visited by the shared taxi provided by the temple Wat Phra That Pha Ngao (Vihan Luang Pho Pha Ngao). Please set Google map to Wat Phra That Pha Ngao (Vihan Luang Pho Pha Ngao) Pros 1. Well organised by temple 2. Temple taxi cost around 30 THB per person including the return ticket 3. Skywalk ticket is 40 THB only 4. The best viewpoint to admire the golden triangle peninsula 5. It is at a high altitude and the bottom is clear 4 inch thick glass. 6. Several photo opportunities Considerations 1. The bridge might be crowded at times 2. An umbrella would be needed on a sunny day

Really cool place to visit and the view is beautiful. But what they don't tell you is you pay for a ride up to the Skywalk and then you have to pay again to go on the Skywalk.

၃ Located in the grounds of Wat Pha Tak Suea atop the Phu Pan Noi peak in Pha Tang subdistrict, the skywalk offers an impressive, expansive view of the Mekong and the landscape on both the Thai and Laotian sides of the river. The tempered glass-floored terrace extends 6 metres out from the cliff and is 4 cm thick to ensure safety and stability. The platform itself is supported by steel stanchions with solid concrete foundations at the bottom of the cliff. Moreover, the 15-metre walkway can support up to 2,500 kg in weight, or around 20 adults. The side panels are also made from glass, and there are signposts at regular intervals on the path up to the skywalk detailing the regulations. This place just takes my breath away! I guarantee that this is the best observation deck on the Mekong and it is just fantastic. Mekong Skywalk is located 5 kilometers from the town of Chiang Saen near the Nimit Chedi Temple. Otsula is perfectly visible both Thailand and Laos, which lies on the other side of the Mekong River. Tips for visiting: you can't get here by public transport, so either take a tuk-tuk, or try to rent a bike in Chiang Saen. The cost of visiting the observation room is 40 baht per person.

Fun experience. Not much to do here, but the Skywalk is fun and a great view. Begin at the Wat Phra That Pha Ngao temple, this is also the place you can catch a ride up and down the mountain for 30 baht (I think). There's also parking and toilets. Admission to Skywalk is 40 baht, ticket sale is at the top. It's also part of tours to Golden Triangle from eg Chiang Rai. I walked up and down. Noone else did, but felt it was part of the experience. Google maps show a wrong route here, so start at the temple entrance.

Fee 40THB per head. Beautiful place to visit sky walk. Don't forget to pray here. It is very sacred place in Thailand. King Rama nine had ever visited here and choose here as an important for ceremony. There are a beautiful places in three levels. People usually visit only the highest level. The second level pra tad jom Jan is also worth to visit.

It's a short/tiny skywalk but really nice. The view wasn't the best due to the smog (burning season), but the Japanese blossoms were beautiful.

One of the most beautiful skywalks in Thailand. Road up to there doesn’t show properly in google map. There is a temple down the hill where you have to park and buy tickets for shuttle service. 30 baht for entry and 30 for shuttle. They provide shoe cover also.Definitely recommend this place.

Hired a driver out of Chiang Rai to take us to the skywalk. About an hour drive from CR. Got to the temple and paid to take the taxi up to the top. At NO POINT along the way did anyone mention whether or not the skywalk was open or not, although it was within the hours listed on google. Got to the summit/skywalk area and found that the skywalk was CLOSED due to maintenance. A big crane replacing the panes of glass. We were very bummed. We still got the view of the Mekong, etc. but no skywalk. I really wish there had been some kind of reliable website that we could have double checked that would have told us that the skywalk was closed. Having said all that, the temple was beautiful, the taxi bus up the mountain was fun. The views and photos were still great, so even without the actual skywalk it was still a worthwhile experience. Bring mosquito spray!

A fine river view from the above but you have to pay both a truck fee and entrance fee to get there which didn't really worth it.

Very clean and beautiful skywalk. The only disappointing thing are the two plastic trees. If you’re biking around, just a note: - You can’t go up to the sky walk with the bike, you’ll have to park it at the temple entrance, and either walk about 1-2 Km uphill (it’s steep) or pay 50 baht (if I’m not wrong) for a 2-way shuttle that gets you up there. The sky walk entrance fee is 40 Baht.

Awesome view, worth the trip. You can walk from parking instead of using car and exercise a bit.

The Google map directions in English were not correct. Go to Wat Phra That Phangao. There is a Song taew to take you up to the skywalk for a fee, then an entrance fee for the skywalk itself.
