I read in an online review that this place has bedbugs, after I had already booked. I called to ask whether they have bedbugs, and they confirmed in a very casual tone that yes, they do have bedbugs. It's great that they are honest, but why haven't they done anything about this if they are fully aware of the problem!!?? It's disgusting that they just keep renting out rooms knowing that they are spreading an infestation to their guests' houses.

Terrible hotel. If you book this hotel, you risk having nowhere to sleep at night. If you book this hotel with double room, after check in, you will encounter a room card, but the room is already occupied. You need to change a room and he will give you a room for six with the same price. If you don't live in this six-person room, you have nowhere to stay at night. And he won't give you any proof, and he won't give you money back. Other travelers had a similar experience, one of them booked a single room, but after asking they couldn't provide a single room. A six-person room is given to the customer, and the customer wants to buy the other five beds. They said no. But we were there and the room opposite was unused. In short, if you want to come to this hotel, be prepared to share a single or double room with strangers. Or having nowhere to sleep at night. Why don't the reviews have 0 stars, 1 star is too high!

Looking for a place to stay when you are in Dortmund? Look no more! Seriously, this place is so nice! The location is outstanding - the city center is within a 3 min walk and the central train station is 7 minutes away (walking). The Hostel is extra clean and they disinfect all of the rooms daily! There is Wi-fi everywhere and the internet speed is one of the best that I have seen in Germany! All and all - this place is the best when it comes to getting value for your money. Highly recommend it.

One of the worst hotels ever, it will be suitable for u just in only one case : if you wanted to stay in a room typically like cell in prison , it deserves minus 10 star outbof 5 stars

No ac, you have to bring ur own towels and sheets to the rooms for an aditional fee. Make ur own bedding. No breakfast unles you paid in advance. very limited parking spot. Dusty bed frames, The photos don’t match what you get (smaller in reality) Limited storage for baggage in rooms. Location wasn’t great. Ground floor/ employees were very loud when talking to each other at midnight

The location is very good, close to the central station. The service was also good and friendly. The rooms themselves are quiet and clean, but as with any hostel the experience is mostly determined by your roommates. No one was too friendly and there doesn't seem to be much action in the common areas. I would recommend it for a short stay.

Very affordable. Amazing service. Perfect for a long stay. Double room was better than expected. Location is fantastic, right at the train station and the bus stop for the Airport Express bus. Super close to the center.

The rooms are extremely small and basic. I find it too expensive for the room you get. The heating system must be turned on/off by the staff! Too much noise on the floors. Bring your ear plugs. The staff is very nice and polite though. Stay only if you are short on budget or you couldn't find a better place.

Cosy, functional and clean. Upon booking I was concerned that we’re staying at a hostel. But this was a good surprise! Compared to a hotel, the only thing it did not have in the room was a coffee/ tea station and bulky furniture. The breakfasts were delicious with a good variety of options, from cereals to bread and boiled eggs. We could not get baked or scrambled eggs, but that did not bother us too much as there were plenty other yummy eat available. My favourite was the warm fresh rolls every morning. The lobby was manned by friendly and helpful people right through the day and night. They serve the tasty local brewed beer on tap, and otherwise there are many different beers and refreshment options available. Our kids enjoyed the games area, with fuss ball, snooker and a child friendly play area. Take two smallish padlocks along for the cupboard. See the video. The padlock holes on the cupboard was roughly 2 mm in diameter. I will make use of a&o hostels again.

This hostel is brilliant!! Clean and well managed. Plenty of staff around day and night. Their breakfast has got a lot of options from bread and butter to salad, booked eggs, various deals and halal turkey salami. They also have pancake machine, coffee machine and fruit juice machine! The only downside is the noise as my room was facing the junction of the main road.

The all female 6-bed dorm was really spacious and clean. Lots of space to put your backpack and other travelling gear. Nice lobby with pool table. Overall great facilities and close to the main station.

Nice hotel with super friendly staff. Clean rooms and lobby to have some drinks with family and friends. Also the breakfast is nice with a big selection, also for take away.

It's like a dump, not exactly correct in services, room cleaner staff just cleaned dorm in less than 3 mins, blanket also dirty ,I don't recommend this.

Location is good. Rooms could be more hygienic. Also, lack of other good options for Hostels in Dortmund makes this suitable for a short stay

Always the best choice to stay. Nice and helpful staff. Comfy and clean rooms and shared areas.

Try and find somewhere else to stay first, it’ll likely be better value for money. The radiator was broken and permanently on in the room, so the windows had to be left open on a Friday and Saturday night in the city centre. The TV was smashed in the room, which should at the very least be removed? The coffee cups weren’t big enough for the coffee machine in the lobby, so after paying 2.90 for a machine coffee a bunch of it spilled over. I’m giving two stars because there were beds and they were serviceable, but not that great if you don’t like cheap, soft and spongy beds. I would have rated higher if the prices hadn’t been so high for the duration of our stay. Edit: Readjusting to a 1 star because their ATM charges money for withdrawals, and I’m just done with this place at this point

Good room for reasonable price. Perfect location. Friendly stuff. I like common space with bar and playground for kids.

The hostel is even cool but you need wifi look for another hosting, don't work practice, and when it looks like it works it's very slow. Even to post this review did not work.

Their hostel is located near main train station which is great. Room was very cozy and lobby was also nice with lots of space. They have Patio and different activities. Diego was amazing and very helpful. I had a great stay.

Largest hostel in the area, you can see a lot of people staying there ranging from school kids to people that stay longer. The staff was really polite, decent amenities and the furniture was ok. Drawback is if you are looking for something comfy it doesn't have that comfort vibe and I had someone in the room with a TV watching stuff. But it did have the best price in the area and it is central.

Room are clean and really comfy, but you have to pay for them bed sheets and towels. Receptionist Masri does a great job.

Well located hostel, 3 minutes walking from the central station as well as the city center. Beds (in private rooms) are comfortable and the room was clean. They aren’t super spacious but it’s enough for some days. WiFi was fast and reliable, TV service not so much. Due to the central location right next to a busy street, the noise level is quite high. Things to improve: better curtains. The current ones don’t fit the window and thus it’s very bright in the morning

We were moved round twice against our planning and will and found someone in my hostel bed (that I had booked) twice. Location decent and fine place to sleep but notably poor organisation.

The hostel is well located. 7 minutes walk to the train station, 10 minutes walk to the city center, restaurants and the famous shopping centers. The rooms are OK, however the cleaning for the rooms might be a bit better. The breakfast is not bad. The stuff I have a big concern about it l, I could find a wide variation in the attitude of the guys at the lobby. Mohamed (the Egyptian guy) is one of the best, he's so friendly, helpful and knows how to do he's job properly. He's always up to help as much as he can, he also was aware with all the guests needs and concerns. He's very passionate about his job and very patients in terms of providing the services and the support to the guests. I would like to thank him for his professionality. Kahled also was always friendly and up to provide the best service for the guest same as the Egyptian guy. On the other side, there were a disappointing attitude from others, Diego was not responding friendly and wasn't supportive or willing to provide the expected service to me as a guest. He was asking me to change the room almost every night and move all my stuff ups and downs. I tried hard with him to find a solution for this issue and always wasn't willing to support. He never was acting in a friendly way as the other guy's I mentioned above. Lastly, there were other girls unfortunately I don't remember their names, they are coming from African background, one of them working in the restaurant downstairs at breakfast time, she was very rude and annoying. The other one was at the lobby . I didn't appreciate their attitude. Thanks

My stay here was perfect! I was greeted at reception by Juan Diego whose service was outstanding from start to finish. He made me feel very welcome and he was very attentive, whilst at the same time being very professional, nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for making my stay so pleasant! Would highly recommend!

Worst Hostel/Hotel I ever stayed at, rooms weren't clean and the breakfast was awful. But at least the Personal was friendly and helpful. But due to the rooms I wouldn't stay again at this place. Don't worry, still good enough if you only want to sleep at a cheep place.

It's a very BAD hostel, they didn't even know how to give a room without anybody inside. We had that 2times. And 3 other times they give us a card that doesn't work. INCREDIBLY !

Terrible rooms. They know they can get away with awful service by being the only hostel in Dortmund. Would have preferred to stay overnight on a bench on the train station.

Friendly staff. The rooms are decently priced.

All the people working in the reception were nice and pleasant except this guy with the heavy Argentinian accent. I politely asked to not smoke directly in front of the door and he started harrasing me and threatening to kick me out of the hostel. Also previously when I asked to fill my water bottle he didn't want to while other workers in the reception kindly did this. He is aggressive and rude.

I had a phone call with this hotel on 24. Feb, the man said I can book 25.’s breakfast in 25.’s morning in Reception. But when I come to the Reception in the morning, they told me that I must book it on day before. So I cannot have my breakfast. And also, the attitude of service was not good. The room wasn’t so clean. And please know, that you must check out before 10, or you pay 10 Euro! (Normally it’s on 12)

The stuff were helpful, but not friendly at all, even the bed linens costed around 20% of the whole night, and they didn’t tell us in advance.

Very good, superb experience, very helpful guys at reception desk, good room cleaning and disinfection. I will want to visit it another time in future.

The stuff is very cool and friendly. All of them speak english and some of them also Spanish!! It's a nice place to stay while you travel or just want to spend some time in the city center.

  • 2/5 Dan V. 1 year ago on Google
A lot of noise in the room facing the street (mostly at night ). The bed linen has to be paid separately ( why don't you include it in yout initial price like every other place? ). You couldn;t lock your things anywhere because in my room there was no locker. Location is good, near the trainstation, and pretty clean.

The room, sheets and blankets were as dirty as it could get. We had hair on our sheets. It was quite hard to get through the night. The staff were nice.

Dortmund can be visited using trains and also beautiful places like a&o Hostel Dortmund. The personal is professional, it is one zen place, clean and you should try it because it is one of the best!

The place was good, clean. The attendants wasn't so happy, that's bad for a hostel. Looks like they hate the work. The price was good and the location perfect.

  • 1/5 Laura G. 1 year ago on Google
Verbally aggressive receptionist. Belongings taken away by cleaning stuff after bad miscommunication on side of hotel. Bad and stressful experience.

Nice room for our family of four. Good breakfast for the price. Room was very loud on a Sat night between emergency vehicles les and late night partiers.

I stayed in a single room. The location is great (at the city centre and very close to the train station) and price was convenient. However, the walls are not sufficiently strong against outer noise (traffic, door slams and kids/youth gathered in nearby rooms), the wi-fi does not work sometimes, and there should be a desk (to work comfortably with a laptop computer) instead of two mini round tables.
