Very disappointing stay for one night. The rooms had a very bad and strong smell, a mixture of perfume and tobacco, maybe the e-cigarettes? I asked for a new room three times and it was all the same. They told me there is a tobacco fair in Dortmund and there was a whole company. Problem with the balconies you can smoke outside but mainly have your door open….pretty bad for non smokers. It was very warm and humid on the floors and in the room as it is difficult to let the air flow. Will definitely be my last visit in Stays Design!

Yikes. This place just screams budget cuts. Want a coffee in the morning? Go downstairs and pay for a Nespresso pod. The breakfast? Not happening right now. The laundry? Only done on Wednesday. Nonsmoking rooms with ashtray on balcony that I guess is considered outside despite being very much part of the room. No screen or window just a sliding door to the open. Not safe for kids. Almost no ventilation with no actual windows in an all black hotel with no AC?! Do not recommend, I feel 100% foolish for staying here.

Tram station is 3 min walking. Room size is good for the double rooms. When it's busy it is also hard to find parking since the available spots of the hotel are not enough. Do not park on the pavement in front of the hotel cause police issues fines. Important! If you go out at the room balcony DO NOT close the door behind you. It is not opening from outside and it quite likely to lock yourself outside. It happens quite often. Breakfast is good with option for omelletes!! The hotel has no restaurant but there quite few in walking distance.

Beautifully decorated room. We stayed in the Oriental themed room and everything was authentically put together. The room included a balcony with couch, a huge bath tub and a steaming bath. The room had a coffee machine and a curved TV. The ceiling above the bath was with fairy lights which gave it the affect as if one was bathing outside under the stars. The atmosphere was absolutely satisfying and it was a pleasure to stay there. Unfortunately there were a few things that kept me from giving the full 5 stars. First and for me the most important fact: there was no air conditioning. We stayed during summer and the heat was unbearable. For the price paid you would have expected something better than a cheap stand alone fan. Another minus is the fact that there was no fridge. If there is no air conditioning one would at least want to have cold drinks to fight the heat. Last of all the bath tub was not really practical. When lying down one slips down into the water. There is no grip to be able to stay above the water. If two people lie together in the bath then it's more comfortable. But alone I see it as a problem. I think the bath tub is more for decorative purposes. All in all I still would highly recommend this hotel. We only stayed for a night and didn't make use of all the services offered (breakfast, lunch package etc...), but just for the atmosphere it was is definitely a different kind of hotel experience. Other rooms have other themes such as hollywood or soccer themed. Each to their own taste. Edit: Since I can't find an option for replying to the hotels comment I am editing my comment. Yes, of course we read what the room was all about before booking, but it still remains that the few things that were missing keeps me from giving 5 stars and doesn't justify the high-end prices. Seeing the decor that is provided isn't up to the standard that one can use them properly (bath tub).

A good place, clean, with beautiful interior design in a quiet place, about 30 minutes walk from the city center.

Booked this spontaneous for one night on our way home from France and it was beyond expectationa. Big, fresh, good beds, close to restaurants. But very warm both in room and the hall ways. Small bathroom for 4 persons. Excellent breakfast (extra cost 14 euro per adult, kids free) .

We stayed in this hotel for one night. One key issue with our stay was - there was no air conditioning in the room and it was very hot outside. A small fun was in the room, but it didn't make much difference. We kept the balcony door open and the room did cool down during the night, but it was uncomfortable. In addition, the bed didn't have side tables - it was enclosed on one side and it was impossible to keep anything on hand, like a bottle of water - had to get up for that (see picture). The bathroom was too humid and the filter was very dusty (see picture). The bed was good quality, but it didn't help.

HOTEL AND EXCELLENT SERVICES This hotel is in a good location, just a few stops from the city center on the metro/tram line. It is a beautiful and quiet location, the hotel is warm and friendly. It is ideal to spend 2-3 nights here... Warm and friendly staff. The room was big and clean, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom is enough for what you need, free wi-fi. Rich breakfast, with everything you would need. We will definitely return to this location every time we are in Dortmund!

I went there with my three kids and we had a really awesome and neat room with enough space for everyone. It was very pleasant altogether and breakfast was really great, much more than I expected for that price. I definitely could´ve stayed longer than just one night...

Rooms have a modern and pleasant interior, friendly service, excellent price for room quality, easy parking, non-touristic neighborhood, location is less suitable if you travel by public transport

Can be recommended, off the main spots, but short to public transport. Just the description on how to come to it needs review. If you follow the advises "coming from the West" you will be in trouble :-) pretty soon. "from the East" is ok.

Beds are nice and comfy. The room was spacious and I loved that the room had a balcony and windows with blinds. Floor could have been cleaner. Didn’t book in advance and just walked in. Seemed to be a problem as the lady at the reception desk told us to book our room or it would become way more expensive if she did it for us. Seemed a bit odd to me. Were able to leave our luggage for a couple of hours after departure. Hotel is not directly close to the center, but well connected to public transportation. Silent side street.

Firstly on arrival - 4th floor room. Supposed ‘deluxe’ room. Not at all. We had to carry all our luggage up steep steps, 1 lift in the entire building that worked for at best 1 day out of 4 for our trip. Not one offer of having help with the luggage. Happy to carry it, but at least acknowledge us. Cleaners will wedge it open so that guests cannot use it during their ‘cleaning period’ we had our room cleaned once during our stay. We had come back at around 4:30pm one of the days and no one had been to visit. Coffee is in the room, great! Except only if you like extra strong! - if you want more then you have to pay. No air con, can’t have shutters open due to privacy and lack of curtains. No fridge to store any drinks or snacks that you might like when you get back to the room. Black out shutters are great if you want the feel of privacy. Yet, no great lighting in the room so you’re left with no choice but to leave them open and having the luxury of everyone from left right and above being able to see into the room. Pillows are very out dated and need renewing. Unable to have a good nights rest with them. Love smoking? This is the place for you, sadly everything smells of smoke. Didn’t try the breakfast so couldn’t comment on that. Stay in the city centre and you can get more for your money.

A quiet, clean place away from the main road but still in walking distance (3 minutes) from public transport. (Edit March 2023) I stayed another night and the good impression still remains.

Very comfortable hotel and also close to Dortmund airport. The bed was really comfy, inside design is beautiful and the service you get is very good. The parking in the hotel courtyard is limited, however there is plenty of free parking on the curb side around the area. Overall good value for money, definitely recommended.

Good service, very friendly and fair prices. Just the conditioner was missing, because it was really hot these days.

+: Good breakfast, nice room, with 33 qm definitly big enough for 2 ppl (comfort room) and a fair price. -: Our balcony window was open when we arrived and when we came back the next evening. That made the room quite cold on one hand and the room was on ground level We booked 2 more times and looking forward to it.

great times, comfy room where you dont want to be away all the time, though for tall people the bed might be a bit short (its 2 meter) and the doorways a bit low, great service and very clean

I had the smallest room possible (standard) for two people but was alone. The bed was good and it was quite nice arranged to feeling comfortable! Breakfast was very good (especially for the price of 14 €) and on room there was a Nespresso machine and you will get coffee for free on the reception. All rooms have a balcony! The hotel is based in the middle of knowhere of Dortmund but I liked the location because it is calm there. The staff is very polite! I have enjoyed my stay 100% and I will come back if I'm searching for a hotel in that region!

Rooms are small, but comfortable. And it is a good value for money. Yes I can recommend this hotel if you are staying for a night, before moving to the next stop in your trip. Thanks.

Wife and I attended for a concert in Dortmund. There is free parking (limited) as advertised but the hotel is situated in a very very scummy area, and they charge you multiple euros just for a single small cup of coffee and tea, which is a first for a hotel I've stayed in. Usually there's at least one sachet of coffee. They strictly say bringing your own drinks and snacks in is disallowed and generally my wife and I felt unwelcome the entire time we were there. Couldn't wait to leave so left as soon as we woke up. However amenities are modern and clean, everything works as it should and beds are v comfortable.

Maybe the best hotel middle class in Dortmund ! Very big spacious and comfortable room, it is very well thought out !The only thing they bothered me is that they don't have refrigerator, but the most of the middle class hotels in Germany don't have. I don't know why ))For the rest is very nice ! I recommend it!

Good hotel, rooms are not too big, but they are clean and enough comfortable. At the lobby there is some drink bar. Breakfasts are also ok.
