If you like horses the best place to stay. If you are there for a rest you definitely can. In for a nice chat with the owner, you can. A very pleasant place to stay, also after a long day cycling.

Magnificent golden Statue of Saxon Elector and Polish King August the Strong. Located at the start of Neustädter Market when approaching from River Elbe, this statue is quite brilliant. Generally not many tourists around it and is in an open area.

Great place and statue! Filled with attractions for kids and adults. Restaurant's and food places all around the statue. Although there might be a lot of people, as well as it might be loud due to the concerts that sometimes happen here. Overall, great place!

(Translated by Google) It was wonderful! I walked there last night for 45 minutes to take a picture for my friend from Ireland, and despite the fact that I was born in Dresden and have lived here all my life, I have never seen this monument like this evening.

August the Second of house Wettin is riding towards Poland on this monumental and very captivating statue. Is is meant for the people of the Kingdom of Saxony and everyone else. August was the hereditary kind of Saxony and was elected by the aristocratic democracy of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as their leader as well. If you adore history and beauty the next stop coil be the nearby Fürstenzug or the beautiful royal garden, the Zwinger.

(Translated by Google) Having absolutely no clue what this is all about, I think it's a very impressive statue. You can see it from afar and have "a song" in your ear. (Original) Absolut keinen Schimmer habend, was es damit auf sich hat, finde ich es doch eine sehr eindrucksvolle Statue. Bereits von weitem kann man ihn sehen und hat direkt „ein Lied“ im Ohr.

It not only just a golden statue, but it also tells you about history of Dresden and Saxony. Besides, you could try the original taste of a famous craft beer in Dresden - Watzke. Behind the statue you can walk along the shopping street, visit Japanischer palais, and wandering across Augustus bridge to explore the amazing Old quarter with Zwinger, Semper opera house, Frauenkirche and so on.

Looks even better at night. It is along the walk from Old Town to New Old Town, just after you get off the bridge, and before you hit the shopping pathway.

Nice place to have a brake, sip some coffee or enjoy ice cream. The statue of the Golden Rider is impressive. The surrounding buildings are kind of shady- but ok. The famous Neustadt district is within walking distance. It’ll take you about 10 minutes to get there.

Worth a stroll across the bridge to see this spectacularly shiny statue

  • 4/5 David P. 1 year ago on Google
Wholesome, vegetarian food with hearty portions and at very reasonable prices. There is usually a selection of 3-4 hot dishes each day and, for an additional 5 zloty or so, you can help yourself to the salad bar. Indoor seating plus a few outdoor tables too and conveniently located within a short walk of the train station. The quality of the food is more typical of home cooking than haute cuisine, but it's great value and you will leave satisfied and well nourished.

The Statue of Augustus the Strong (Elector of Saxony and King of Poland) is a nice historical landmark that was put up on the north side of the river in 1736. The monument is covered with gold leaf and shows August the Strong in a Roman armour.

The monument is covered with gold leaf and shows August the Strong in a Roman armor on his break to the Kingdom of Poland to the east. The Golden Horseman is attainable from Palace Square over the Augustus Bridge.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful! Covered with gold conscientiously! It opens the main entrance to the old city. It is behind it that the most picturesque excursion into the history of the city begins on foot - for those who want to see the face of the city from the main entrance. In my opinion, the main street of the city, which ends at the main station. (Original) Красивый! Покрыт золотом на совесть! Он открывает парадный вход в старый город. Именно за ним начинается самая живописная экскурсия в историю города пешком- для тех, кто хочет увидеть лицо города с парадного входа. (Translated by Google) The Golden Rider in Dresden presents August II the Strong King of Poland and the Elector of Saxony. You can even find the coat of arms of Poland from that era on the pedestal. Apparently August was so strong that he was bending horseshoes. We can remember him from the famous role of Mariusz Dmochowski from the Harbina Cosel series. Możemy go pamiętać ze słynnej roli Mariusza Dmochowskiego z serialu Harbina Cosel.
