We went for brunch today after so many months of not dining here and were disappointed with the dining experience. First, they have gotten rid of the metro special which is usually our go to order. My friends ordered the pancakes and added extra sides such as scrambled eggs and streaky bacon which mimics the metro special. One of the pancakes they served him was burnt. I ordered the chicken and chorizo jambalaya which caught my attention as its quite new on the revamped menu. I was disappointed when it arrived as it didn’t look appetizing at all and is something that I think I can easily do in my kitchen. Will probably not be back for a long while and prefer to go somewhere else for brunch.

Really good spot for an all day breakfast. Our order for lost in the system so we had to wear a little longer than expected. They were very kind though and gave us free coffees to make up for any delay. I would definitely go back if I was on the lookout for a late breakfast. The breakfast buttie is sensational.

Been coming here for years and I can only tell you what one thing on the menu is like - The Breakfast Buttie! It’s perfection. It’s a monster! Staff are always friendly even when it’s busy.

Lovely to sit down here outside, have a cold beer, and some something to nibble.

The place is a bit snug and kept getting hit in the head by people trying to get through. The service was slow, but that's just because they were very busy. The food was really good.

Beautiful day, beautiful location. Food (sandwiches) was simple, great quality ingredients & very tasty. Staff v attentive. A unique cool eclectic people watching kinda spot..not your typical boring franchise..Value for money & not over the top expensive. #supportlocal

Amazing food, definitely one of the best avocado toasts I've had. Their pancakes were also very light and fluffy. Atmosphere is so nice too with French music playing. Perfect spot for early breakfast.

Had the creme mushroom soup and toast. The soup had too much salt and the toast was burnt. The waiter has some way to improve on service. Bottom line - don't order any food!

It was such a nice place. The food and the service were good and also the table where we ate looked beautiful. We ate breakfast there but the lunch etc. is probably nice too :)

Lovely cafe with outdoor seating in the heart of Dublin. Close to Grafton street and St Stephen's Green. We had mixed olives as a starter, combo of soup (tomato bisque) and a vegan sandwich (veggies and hummus) , a vegan ragu with lentils, sweet potato and cous cous with curry and coconut milk, 2 coffees and sparkling water.

So I have given this a five stars across the board based on the brunch we had, and the value, quality and service we experienced. We had brunch for two, lovely coffee, great pastry and pancakes. The food was very prompt and the service was fantastic. Given the location it's surprisingly not an arm and a leg cost wise. Decor is simple, no frills, but very clean and tidy. It's a great spot for a quick bite.

Need to eat here some time but I enjoyed a nice flat white in the sun with some classmates as we had a planning meeting on the seats outside. Loved the atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Amazing and affordable food, highly recommend the soup and sambo combo. Flavour of the chicken sandwich is rich but not overpowering. Pairs extremely well with the soup.

I ordered The Metro Special! Eggs needed salt and pepper, but they gave me a generous amount of bacon and it was amazing! The pancakes were good, especially with the syrup they use. Mocha was really good and the customer service was phenomenal. It is a little snug in there but I didn’t mind it at all!

Lovely staff, and very efficient. Had to wait about 18 minutes for a table inside but worth it for the buzz. Scrabbled egg was a bit dry but that's just how they do it here. Had my annual coffee and enjoyed it very much! 😘☕

Prices are a bit of a let down €7/8 for what feels like €5 in quality. Couple that with a "regular" coffee that you can drink in one gulp for €3+ and looking at €10+ for something that even if it was €9 would justify it more. Staff are nice, and it is a nice spot, but definitely not as somewhere to go if you have options. For the same price or a little under you can get more on the same street.

Really cute place for a coffee and pastry. The room is not big but still allows for some privacy, its usually not too crowded. French café vibe, with nice background music. perfect atmosphere for a date.

Absolutely gorgeous food. Perfect coffee. Beautiful café. Amazing atmosphere. Kind and considerate staff. 100% recommend if you’re willing to wait. Empty plates speak for themselves.

I met a friend for lunch here on a Sunday. Seats were cramped, place was very busy. Fair enough that happens. My main problem was that I ordered an Irish stew which cost more than €15 and I got a tiny plate which had 3 pieces of carrot, 3 pieces of potato, and a few fatty pieces of meat in a lot of gravy. It was like stew soup. It tasted fine but it wasn't enough food to feed a child. My friend got a tuna melt which was also really expensive and consisted of two tiny rolls. Really not worth the money and I definitely won't be going back.

Stop by for an early/ healthy dinner last night. Cheerful and efficient service. Goat cheese and beet salad was perfect with a side of sautéed veggies. And my husband’s chicken Caesar salad plus a little of the bacon mixed in was perfect for him as well.

I’m going to spend the rest of my life trying to make the same incredible fluffy Irish pancakes. The food was incredible, the coffee - aromatic, and the service - excellent. Definitely a great choice!

Lovely and lively spot for breakfast. Food always hits the spot, if a little spendy but that's the location, I guess. Served by Casio today, who was brilliant, attentive and so friendly. We'll be back.

Not the first time we have breakfast at Metro Cafe. We love their buttermilk pancakes but I am not sure we will get back. The service, at least on Saturday mornings, is very slow. Ordering, serving and even paying take very long. The staff is friendly and polite though. I initially thought that the problem was the lack of staff, but if I counted well, there was one person serving coffees, 2 people for the tables outside and another 2 inside. So more than a lack of personnel it seems like a management problem. I have been in places equally busy, in the same area and with less staff and yet more efficient. It is not normal that one single table gets the order taken by a person, coffee served by another, food by another, and I pay the bill to yet another person. Even though we already knew what to order and ate pretty fast, we still spent nearly two hours in total, mostly waiting

The dining experience was satisfactory if you dont mind eating on the street! The food is delivered promptly & is of excellent standard. Facilities are maintained & clean. The staffing efforts leave a lot to be desired!

Super café with a nice atmosphere. Perfect for brunch! The pancakes and scrambled eggs with wholemeal toast are highly recommended. They also have the best hot chocolate in Dublin!

Had my first outing here today by way of a friend reccomending we go there. And I must say, I was not dissapointed. Very helpful and kind staff and absolutely lovely food. I ordered the Veggie Supreme and shared some garlic bread with my friend and all I can say is YUM!

I enjoyed my hot chocolate in this place with my friends. Price good. Now is winter time and they have heating outside so that's is a plus for me because I am very cold person. I will be back soon with my husband. Lovely staff. Thank you guys!

Love, love, love this lil cafe!! It's been part of Dublin for over 25yrs, the girl told me they celebrated earlier this year and I've been many times since! 😊 Never had anything but a wonderful time here. Food, prices, service is all top notch. Favourite cafe in Dublin by far. See you guys this Sat afternoon too! 😊❤️

Lovely friendly cafe. Simple tasty reasonably priced menu. Staff need to focus on customers rather than entertaining friends and other staff members. It's not a good look. Thanks

👍👍 After looking everywhere for lactose free milk, finally found it here in the food hall. Beautiful design, sort of art nouveau, with iron casted architecture, diverse shops and cosy interiors. Really recommend also for tourists who need to shop forgotten items.
