Probably perfect for families but not for couples. The hotel has good facilities with large swimming pools and a well equipped gym. Big let downs… Breakfast - quality of good was absent but didn’t compare to the crowds!! If you do stay, get in early!! Rooms were fine and acceptable - the pillows were not. Not sure if you could call the half sack of feathers that we were provided a pillow. On request for a replacement we were provided a lump of foam - a literal lump. All of this was surpassed by the massive failure with parking - upon receiving confirmation from the bell man that we were indeed parked in a suitable space you can imagine our surprise when the car vanished! Didn’t take long to receive confirmation from the front desk team that the car had been towed that morning. Despite initially admitting that an error had been made by the bell man, nobody was prepared to accept responsibility and right the wrong. All levels of management showed no true hospitality and were only concerned about their own interests - money. We were left bewildered by the response and only though substantial negotiations did they eventually relent and paid the fees for the car being towed. Be aware, if you are looking for a chilled vacation - look elsewhere.

I am disappointed overall about this hotel and stay. I guess due to late booking, stay was quite pricy. If you will sum up all expenses for hotel plus food outside (because in the hotel dinners are not worth it and expensive) it will be a price for luxury at least 5 star all inclusive Turkey stay where you do not think about anything (food, photo, sea activities, evening events, clubs, etc)! But lets return to Valamar. What I really enjoyed is clean room, this is a huge plus for me! Minuses: Drinking water! For big glass (only, no plastic version) bottle you should pay 5,80 euro. Why? It is a need, not privilege. It is super expensive. And I knew about it only when I was next to the beach where you actually can not run somewhere to buy drinking water only to the bar of this “amazing” hotel! Do not decrease prices to anything but to water! Next- it is said “free access to the beach”. Yes, access is free but you should purchase beds and umbrella with 50% discount for 15€ for 2 people. But why to write then free access, it is not free!!! ANYBODY CAN access this beach! I saw a lot of people just coming, swimming, seating on the beds for 15-30 min without towels and leave. They definitely were not paying, but guests who already stay in the hotel for high price should purchase beds and 6€ bottle of water and lay next to weird looking people?! Cool! Next point is food. Dinner is 35€ without drinks which is fine due to prices in Dubrovnik, but most of food was over fried! Oil additionally was old. Meat was chewy. Pizza was very good actually! What I also noticed is that in the whole Dubrovnik food is not tasty. Only pizza was very good, surprisingly. We visited only popular places above 4.6 rating in Google maps but food was above 22€ per meal and below average quality and tasteless. Cocktails were poor as well! Food is super important for our family, so my conclusion is….. With whole respect to history and beauty of Dubrovnik, it was enough of holiday and I am not planning to return here again!

I recently stayed at the Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel and while the staff and food were good, I unfortunately had a negative experience with the air conditioning. As someone who prefers a cooler room, I was disappointed to find out that the hotel did not allow guests to adjust the temperature themselves. This left us feeling hot and uncomfortable throughout our stay. In an effort to cool down, we resorted to leaving the windows open. However, when we closed the windows, we noticed that our clothes began to smell stale, because of the lack of ventilation. This was quite unpleasant and made it difficult to fully relax and enjoy our stay. We did ask staff to see if we could manually control the air conditioning, but they were unable to grant our request. Despite these issues, the staff was friendly. The food was also quite good, with a wide variety of options to choose from. Overall, while I had a less-than-ideal experience with the air conditioning and the unpleasant smell in the room, I would still recommend the Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel for those who are willing to overlook these issues in favor of good service and great food.

Faultless experience. Every area of the hotel is modern and clean. The hotel facilities are excellent with a large indoor pool, steam room, sauna x 2 and well equipped gym. Our room was comfortable and clean. The quality and selection of food with our half board stay was consistently good. Every member of staff that we had contact with was friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel is located 5 km from Dubrovnik old city but the public transport links are good or if you're feeling energetic, there's a beautiful walk around the coast.

Overall a good hotel and a nice vacation. The staff is friendly and always trying. However, there are a few criticisms, including: not quite clean rooms, breakfast had the flair of a canteen, they should better communicate that you have to pay 15 euros a day for the beach in the partner hotel...

Amazing stay! This hotel has 5-star standards! Beautiful, modern and clean facilities. Large, comfortable rooms, varied and large breakfast, lovely staff. I have very high hotel standards and this hotel definitely went above and beyond. Thank you!

Lovely chain of well-kept,well presented hotels, a return for us. Service with one hiccough (addressed), was friendly and excellent. Food good and plentiful. Pool good well kept and supported. The location is gorgeous with spectacular views and sunsets. The only downs were that the bedding was a little small for the beds and two people, and there were stairs everywhere not always linked well with the lifts with mobility a factor this was an issue. Directions to help were not very good. But we spent a lovely week there, and would happily stay with Valamar there or elsewhere in the future.

Quiet the worth for the price. reception staff, Tea, was a nice lady and we had an easy check in and check out. There are some shops which is a great perk and you can buy snacks and cigarettes. we got a twin room with sea view instead of double room, and we didn’t bother the staff to change it. The room was quiet clean, it was not mentioned but we had bathrobes on beds😍the room came with a good view and I enjoyed the sunset view. The breakfast was absolutely a disappointment: the staff were not friendly(but we were also late so no complaints)no coffee machine, and repeated food on the tables. We skipped the next day breakfast which was ok. The hotel has a really good indoor and outdoor pool and a good bartender inside.

Since the tourist season has just opened, half the hotel is closed, so our room option was limited. No water view was available, but no worries, there's so much to see we weren't in the room much. Largest free breakfast bar I have ever experienced with options for all.

Exceptional service, clean modern and the best views from back of hotel of water and mountains and sunset is spectacular, pool is beautiful but too cold for me ,but they have indoor warmer pool also 😀 The location is a bit too far from everything for my liking ,l like to be able to walk to main town etc ,but there is a bus stop out front no. 6 bus gets you to any main stop including old town. The hotel is uphill which is why the views are so pretty, but the beach is quite a long walk from back of hotel ,and you have to pay a lot for sun lounge chairs or sit on rocks ,but the beach is so beautiful and clear water ,so worth the effort! The buffet breakfast/ dinner is very delicious and wide variety served, one of the best lve seen in Europe! If you like a quiet area and just want to chill by pool or beach then this is perfect hotel ,l would recommend.

This was a nice hotel. More of a spa or conference feel than a family holiday vibe, but that suited us. Lovely pools and can also use the facilities of the 5 star valamar president Hotel, with its beach access. They're a 10 min walk apart. Super breakfast, with everything you could want. It's quite a pricey hotel for drinks and food, but this was reflective of Dubrovnik itself, which is a very expensive holiday destination. We arranged some excursions locally that included pick up and drop off from the hotel, which was great. Its a bus ride into the old town, but there is a pleasant coastal walk to get to restaurants and the lovely cave more bar. Also, some lovely sea swimming spots along the coastal path. We had a super time

Rooms are comfortable and there are some sweeping views from the lobby. There's a bus stop right next to the hotel to take buses into the city. The buffet breakfast didn't have too many options for vegetarians but many meat options. They also don't allow you to adjust the air conditioning so it was hot at night

Everything you need for a great vacation. Only the ugly carpet is not so fine. Friendly people, cool area and good meals, also a small gym and wellness.

In how error . We left a expensive set of Sapphire necklaces & earrings in the room on how stay . Which was a present to the wife for our 45 wedding anniversary present . We only discovered we left them behind last year . When the wife went to wear them on our wedding anniversary this year . She thought there was in our safe . I’ve contact the hotel several times . With just one reply only . “ Wife contact head office . Who forward her email on . No reply .” I’ve ask several times by email . If safes are checked when guest leave & where is lost property recorded & stored. With no reply’s from the hotel . Whilst I accept it our fault leaving them behind . Surely hotel should check safe & keep valuable lost property safe & contact owners or reply to emails . You can not amanger how upset the wife is . In knowing her 45 year weddings anniversary present is at the hotel & hotel is ignoring emails . I’ve now taking to posting on here . Hoping we will get answers & necklace & earrings back

We recently enjoyed a two-night stay in one of the V Level rooms with a balcony overlooking the sea. The room was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated and boasted a large comfortable bed, as well as a spacious shower. The wine fridge was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast experience was great, served in a separate lounge for V Level members. The buffet offered a good variety of cold options and the ability to order hot dishes to our liking was a nice touch. The hotel staff were consistently friendly and helpful. There were a couple of areas that could benefit from attention. The V Level pool area, in particular, could use more frequent rounds to clear empty glasses, organize sun loungers and remove wet towels. Additionally, it’s important to acknowledge that guests come in various forms, such as mother and daughter, friends, same-gender couples, etc. Therefore, a more inclusive approach in email greetings would be appreciated. Overall, our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and we would definitely consider returning in the future.

Lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly, the grounds and common areas are kept spotlessly clean. Staff cannot do enough to help. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast has a wide variety of food.

It was our first time to Croatia and obviously to stay in the hotel but it had been highly recommended by a friend who had stayed in the spring and it didn't disappoint. The staff were generally friendly,I would like to point out one particular lady that was very helpful on the reception,on a day we needed to see a doctor. The food was excellent tho I found the roast beef at times a little too tough. The fridge in the room really didn't chill the cold drinks at all and I could never figure out how to switch off the extractor fan in the bathroom. Having said that, I highly recommend it and would definitely go back. Everywhere is very clean ,no problem leaving a 5 star review for this four star hotel

The SPA at the hotel is amazing. I can recommend it to anyone who needs a good place for relaxation and massage. Verdana has expertise and experienced golden hands. One of my best massages I have ever had!

Wonderful hotel, beautiful views, lovely indoor and outdoor spaces, comfortable room, big breakfast buffet with a variety of options, same for the dinner buffet. You get access to the beach via a another nearby Valamar hotel. 15min by bus to Dubrovnik old city and the bus stop is right across the street.

Very large resort style hotel. A little out of the way but public transit is handy. Very good pool spa area. Rooms are quiet and roomy. The dining room is vast and reminded me of a cruise ship buffet. Excellent service, nice bar even with entertainment on some evenings.

It was a pleasant stay at this hotel during a conference. We felt excellent, the food was good and varied, the staff was kind! However, at the end, it was an unpleasant moment when we requested at the front desk to mention the names of both guests on the invoice (although at check-in they told us that it is not a problem), and this was solved with difficulty and discussions because Lea did not know how to solve the problem.

In my opinion, the hotel photos, specially the ones at the hotel website, are much nicer than what you find when you arrive; rooms, the lobby and some other parts of the hotel seem larger than they truly are. Rooms don’t have a 4 star feeling and I have visited more than 55 countries in the world and stayed in many excellent hotels. Staff isn’t particularly kind or welcoming and appear just to be there doing the minimum required - we felt it at breakfast, dinner, lobby, etc. the nice part is the indoor swimming pool, the bus every 10 minutes to city center. Prices at the hotel for food if you don’t have full board are expensive but honestly every restaurant in Dubrovnik is expensive, specially thinking about average salary in Croatia (a coke 250mL easily costs 5 Euros and most places don’t allow you to ask for tap water), so the hotel is actually ok, when compared. You can use some of the amenities in the nearby group hotels like access the small pebble beach but everything is spread out. I would not stay again at this hotel.

Stayed here for four nights for our honeymoon. Room was a bit basic but the rest of the facilities were fantastic! The pool was lovely, with a restaurant and bar that really delivers beside it. The main restaurant for breakfast and dinner was superb with a buffet style. We also accessed the beach with out discount and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I stayed in this hotel with my husband for a New Year's weekend. I bought a coupon with a discount and I thought the level of service will drop. But it didn't! The staff was great, especially those that work in a restaurant. Buffet was rich, with plenty of food for various types of diets. Champagne for a New Year's eve. I stayed in Valamar President 10 years ago, but this I like better. ❤ So, good work, Valamar, and Happy New Year to all your employees!

Very nice 4-star hotel. Has own spa and swimming pool. Restautant offers buffet dinners. Very big choice of dishes and desserts. Located a bit far from town centre but there is city bus connection.

The hotel was fantastic! Really welcoming with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is just lovely, lots & lots of places to chill out, we used the indoor pool which was a decent temperature and there were plenty of loungers. The restaurant buffet was amazing, there is so much choice and really great to seem them preparing the dough for the pastries and making fresh omelettes on request. Beautifully presented and so much variety. Very refreshing to see that in a large hotel. The beds were very comfortable and everywhere was exceptionally clean. My family and I will definitely visit this hotel again. ☺️

Totally professionals! I reserved a double bed room, upon my arrival at the hotel room the beds were two singles. I talk to the reception about it and not only they give us a room with a double bed (which is obvious) they upgraded the room too! The breakfast and the dinner were very good!!

The hotel was fantastic ! Could not fault it. Really welcoming, friendly staff, helpful . The hotel is just lovely, lots & lots of places to chill out, we used the indoor pool which was a decent temperature and there were plenty of loungers . Unfortunately the sauna & steam room were closed. The buffet breakfast was amazing, there is so much choice and really great to seem them preparing the dough for the pastries and making fresh omelettes on request. Beautifully presented and so much variety. Very refreshing to see that in a large hotel. The beds were very comfortable and everywhere was exceptionally clean . Had a full size bath as well as an excellent shower, with lots of bathroom products and fresh towels, robes & slippers, which we loved. Being able to use the facilities and private beach at The Valamar President Hotel was the icing on the cake. Another fabulous hotel . We will definitely return to Lacroma, it was fabulous. Almost forgot the no 6 bus that picks up 5 mins from the hotel and will take you to the Old Town ,last stop, and all over Dubrovnik. A fantastic stay in a beautiful place.

Beautiful clean modern hotel. Enjoyed exploring it. It has a couple gift shops, business center, spaces to socialize and etc. Breakfast is fantastic, and includes made to order omelettes. Dinner was excellent, buffet style. These meals were included in my package, so don't know the cost. Good location for sightseeing, city bus comes through every 15 minutes.

  • 5/5 Fiona B. 2 years ago on Google
The Lacroma hotel was lovely - good location. Disappointed that the outdoor pool was so cold but nice that the indoor pool was easily accessible from the same area and was lovely and warm. Pool bar not open at that time of year but think this could be extended to take account of the UK school holidays. Air con was switched off too - again this could have been left until UK school holidays were finished.

This hotel is understated excellence! Rooms were well appointed and comfortable, the views outstanding. The breakfast buffet is world class and spacious table seating both indoor and outdoor meant no waiting. Easy access to transportation right to the heart of the city within a half hour.

Superb hotel. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Hotel is spotless. Beautiful indoor and outdoor pools, not far from the beach. Wide range of activities or just relax and peace and suite by the pool. Loved it. Would highly recommend and will return myself. .

We were in the hotel because of the congress. The hotel is mediocre, according to previous experiences, although it is beautiful and in a good position, it does not deserve 4 stars due to the overall impression. The staff is average, with no will to live, let alone work. Except for a few exceptions, such as the waiter Ivan at the wine bar Nocturno and the lady who makes omelettes at breakfast. The reception staff works listlessly, they are rude and when you tell them something is wrong, they argue with the guests. I understand that they opened just for this, but again unenterprising through and through. At dinner, the waiters took our plates from the table even though we still had our forks in our hands. The plate was empty, but it was not nice to take the plate from the guest in front of him. We were at dinner for over 40 minutes and no one came to ask us what to drink, we went to the bar hoping to have something to drink, the waiter didn't show up after 20 minutes, so we went to the store to buy something. One towel in the room was dirty. The parking card did not work and they reset our room card almost every day. The staircase was desperately dirty, dust, leaves and bird feathers on then the stairs... phew! Rooms of average cleanliness. The food at breakfast and dinner was the best part, even though there were some shortcomings. From the fact that the food had no labels or the wrong labels were placed above the food to the fact that the meat was overcooked. We were late for the coffee break, because the program lasted for about 20 minutes, when we started to leave the hall, the staff started collecting coffee and tea, the fact that we didn't drink anything didn't matter to them, they picked it up and left. Totally disorganized. Definitely a hotel we don't want to go back to.

Amazing hotel! Sit on the beautiful patio with a drink and watch the sunset! HUGE selection of food on the buffet- all of it tasted great. Entire section of gluten-free breakfast items- they are very in tune with food allergy needs. Multiple pools. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

Fantastic hotel, very clean and tidy and the room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The buffet breakfast and evening meal were excellent and we found something different to eat each day. The staff were all very helpful and catered to any requests we had immediately. I will definitely be returning and I would recommend your hotel to others

This is a lovely hotel, staff extremely helpful and housekeeping requests were instant, we were astounding at how fast extra pillows were delivered. Breakfast is spectacular, so much choice, all fresh and well presented and seemingly unlimited. The outside pool was chilly but we still used it, the inside pool is warmer, there were gym and spa facilities which we looked at but didn't use, the relaxation space in the spa was magnificent. So to conclude the hotel is all you can ask for but there isn't too much around it, you can walk into the small town next to it but everything else is a bus, taxi or car ride, none of which are expensive. Beaches are stoney but the private beach outside the president is the best. Half price beds and towel rental as you're staying at a sister hotel.

Nice hotel, evening food not as good as breakfast. The lady who makes the personalised omelettes in the morning is amazing, she really shines for customer service among the other staff. I would say the location and facilities are great but the rooms need updating. It is definitely worth it to book a sea view room as the rooms with no balcony are much more basic. Cleaning is done to an okay standard but they could pay attention to marks on walls etc. overall a good hotel, but service, cleanliness and food quality need to be improved as there are many hotels in the same area of a higher standard

  • 5/5 Geoff L. 1 year ago on Google
We booked a room with balcony, we were on the ground floor with a very small outdoor area not at all private. We see Maria who was on the desk and she was so polite and helpful, we changed rooms the next day, still on the ground floor, but much bigger and private. The hotel is very clean, all the staff are friendly and polite. We booked half board, found the breakfast and evening meal very nice, some of the is not very hot but all very tasty. We have four days left and so far everything has been wonderful. Many thanks to all the staff for making our stay a great experience. Only one gripe with Croatia (mosquitoes) but no one can do anything about them, they find me delicious 😋

A lovely hotel especially for couples or friends just wanting to relax. The spa is fantastic with Saunas steam ice relax areas and showers. Large inside and outside pool with plenty beds. Entertainment limited but ok if come to relax. Breakfast lovely especially the Omelette. Large buffet with plenty choice. Evening also buffet with plenty of choice but feels like a canteen and no complimentary soft drinks or tea or even tap water! If I came again, would probably jump on the bus to the old town to eat as only 20minutes and much nicer ambient. I think we may be able to use other hotels in this group but no communication.

The rooms and hotel is nice and clean, top marks there. The service is standard and professional. Wouldn't recommend eating there, the food isn't bad but it definitely isn't good. The outdoor is a nice addition, but somehow they managed to get it colder than the sea temperature. Don't know if it was a temporary issue, but there is an ok indoor pool also, so it wasn't a big issue.

I have enjoyed my stay in this hotel, the view from the terrace is breathtaking, everything is very clean and taken care of, rooms are spacious, breakfast is really nice, you have everything you need there, very fresh and delishious. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Live music every evening was a great addition to overall atmosphere and relaxing vibe of the hotel.

The staff are great, couldn't do enough for you. It is a very comfortable hotel and I would definitely return. Delicious food and a good quiet garden room. Special mention for Salko one of the waiters who was very efficient, good at his job, attentive and friendly. Dubravka at reception also very helpful. This hotel is exceptional because it is so good.
