Thats a 2 star hotel? I am very impressed. Very happy with my one night stay! Clean rooms, large beds, and the towels and sheets don’t have that dryness to them. AC that gets the rooms super cold! This is a very good hotel and I highly recommend! I rate this a 9/10 stay!

I slept well and it was quiet, but the bed sheets were stained. I guess there's a shortage of them, so they don't get washed properly?? The shower could also use a very good scrub. Overall, not what you'd expect for this time of money during peak leaf season. The hot tub is tiny, fits 2-3 people. The pool was ok. Breakfast was good. The reception was weird upon checking in - some college kids who could care less. Overall, very 2 star'ish to me. I definitely feel I overpaid.

We did not, unfortunately, enjoy our stay here. We checked in and received our room with good service. We did a once-over in our room, and found on pillow covered in hair - like from 4 different people. I brought it up to the front desk and it was replaced. The guy working was nice and apologetic, but that's pretty gross. Later, when we went to get ready for bed, we folded down the blankets and felt some crusty spots on the sheets. They were right between the pillows and were obviously not washed stains. (Think bodily fluids for an idea of what this looked like...) I again went up to the front desk, explained the situation, and asked for new sheets. He said he was the only person working and couldn't leave his post, but asked me what size bed and gave me fresh sheets. We went to re-make our own bed, but they were a queen set. So, I go back again and get another set - this time the tag says king. We out them on and find two holes, both over 1/2". At this point, we decide the holes are going to have to work, because we didn't want to fight a 4th set. While changing the bed, we found just how stained the mattress pad and pillows are, which was disgusting. So disgusting that we decided we couldn't do it and actually went over to get pillows at Target. The room did smell good, but that's really all I can say positively. It was very small. We stayed two nights and were constantly tripping over each other. The tile entry seemed to accumulate a lot of dirt and debris and there were a total of 3 hangers available. The beds were very uncomfortable - caved in in the middle and we kept sliding into each other during the night. The hotel was also loud. I would not come here again.

Excellent rooms and location for a good price. Room and bathroom size are a pleasant surprise, as well as being clean, well-maintained and equipped with everything we need. We are happy with the fridge and microwave provided in the room. Beds are comfortable too. In terms of location, while it’s not suited for walking to sites in Duluth, everything is a very quick drive.

Would never stay here again. Upon arrival, discovered our room had plenty of crumbs and stuff on the couch and floor. We requested a new room and they were easy to deal with and we settled in. The floor was dirty, stains all over. Bedding was dirty, second night in we discovered a large spot of poop or boogers on our bedding. I requested new sheets and comforter and when making the bed realized the mattress cover was filthy and had all kinds of random lint and things all over it. Just very gross. Tables in our king suite had food all over the top and sides. We had to wipe down all surfaces to even touch them. Me and my baby broke out horribly on our face after the first night. Finally a week later our skin is healing. Bathroom wasn’t super clean, the elevators had a massive sticky black mess over the floor our entire stay. Housekeeping would vacuum and it was obvious the vacuums didn’t work and they went along, the floor didn’t get clean. Carpets were filthy and gross throughout. They need to seriously deep clean every room and surface. The walls in the elevator were completely gooey and sticky. I had to carry my dog everywhere because I had no idea what she could be possibly walking through. One housekeeper was walking around in very dirty socks. I’ve worked in a hotel before. The cleanliness of this place, the room, the linens, the common areas and everything else we touched or laid on was well below standards. I’ve never had such a horrible break out on my face, and my baby has never broken out this way either. I can only assume their linen/ towels are filthy and not properly washed. The human excrement we found on our sheets was the icing on the cake. I’m aware hotels do not change comforters in rooms unless they are dirty but how can you miss this?! I’ll leave you guys to figure out what this was on our bedding.

This hotel Exceeded our expectations! Being a pet friendly hotel, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect and had lower expectations. We were so pleasantly pleased to enjoy our stay with our little dog in such a clean, very clean hotel! Staff was very friendly with encounters, and the overall feel was very easy, simple, nice, clean, and comfortable! THANK YOU! We would definitely return again.

We stayed on a Thursday night in April. The room was basic but nice and clean. The fitness room looked nice but I didn't go in. The pool room was pretty small. Only two tables in there and a few chairs. The hot tub was nice. Warm but not too hot. DIdn't get in the pool. The little pantry/store by the front desk was really nice and the prices were actually great. Lower than most vending machines. All the staff we saw were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pre-made cheese omelets and fried potatoes. Good and hearty. Also waffles and the other basic continental breakfast fare. Overall a good value. Will stay here again on quick trips through Duluth.

Room was just your normal hotel room. But it clean, and the shower was pretty nice. My room however, the smoke alarm was falling out and hanging by the cord, and the desk chair is falling apart. The pool and hot tub area is a lot smaller than what seemed to be pictured, if that’s something that concerns you. And there weren’t many towels out there. Breakfast was as normal as any other hotel breakfast in my opinion. Staff was very kind all around. Location is nice if you’re not looking to stay down near Canal Park, but getting around this area is kind of confusing especially if you’ve never been here before. I only stayed one night, and was good for what it was.

Kind of hidden and a bit out from downtown. Depends on what one values. I preferred being closer to our events’ location, which were closer to downtown but this was one of the few decent and affordable hotels available at the time. Cleanliness was a 4/5 stars. Has a pool, hot tub, laundry room on site, and gym. Free parking plus breakfast. Multiple card-only entrances to hotel. Elevators on site. Has the basics I needed at the time. Close range to mall.

We stayed 3 days. The 1st day was fine. But after that they didn't make up our room. Even though we requested it. We had to go to the front desk for towels, toilet paper, and shower products. Mold in the shower. The pool area is small. Hot tub held 4 people and was always full. The breakfast was very good!! We would probably prefer to stay elsewhere on our next visit to Duluth.

Our room was very clean, modern, and well-maintained. Loved that we could bring our dog here and room didn't feel like a room only pets were allowed like other motels. Great breakfast and very nice, welcoming staff!

La Quintas can be hit or miss these days (definitely read reviews before booking), but fortunately, this is one of the nicer ones. The lobby was nice. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The two young men working the desk were friendly and professional.

Our room was very clean and spacious! The beds were comfortable; pillows were ok, not as bad as other hotel pillows! Internet was a little spotty at times but my husband was able to work so no big deal. We would definitely stay here again when we visit.

We stayed at this hotel in 2017 and enjoyed our stay enough to come back August 2023. When we come back to Duluth, we will choose a different hotel. The hotel was just alright. The pool towels were never adequately stocked. The man at the front desk was annoyed whenever we asked for more. At one point, we were swimming with our two young children and the front desk worker stormed into the pool area and yelled at us (and others in the pool area) that there were no more towels available for the pool and we were just going to have to wait until more could be washed. This was after housekeeping took our old towels, and failed to replace them with new ones. Other than the towels, the rest of the hotel is just average. Our one year old daughter accidentally took out the air filter, and it looked like had never been changed. The rooms were mostly clean, with some questionable spots. The bed had a few lumps, and we could hear the people moving above us even with our children’s sound machine on. The breakfast area is large, but has chairs that cause you to sink in. Overall this hotel wasn’t bad enough that it ruined our trip. However, we passed many hotels on our way to canal park that looked nicer, and are interested in checking out before deciding to come back to this hotel.

Great service, accommodations, and breakfast! Only things to be aware of are that it's on a hill, which can make the drive a little tricky in lots of snow, and that they allow pets. Allowing pets is a great thing to be clear, just be aware you may hear pets from other rooms. Great experience overall!

Hotel seems new. Property was clean and staff inviting. Comfortable stay close to all the shipping in Duluth. Breakfast was a bonus but lacking a few items (might have been out since we arrived to breakfast late, didn't realize it was over earlier on weekdays). We had a shower handle break, interrupting our morning showers and worried it would make us late to check out, however, front desk and maintenance were friendly and prompt in addressing the issue and getting it fixed right away. Was also a little bit of noticeable rust in the tub, but overall nothing bad to say. Was a convenient and comfortable stay and will choose La Quinta the next time we are in the area, providing the rates are favourable like they were this time around!

La Quinta Duluth is pet friendly. Every room (for a small fee). It's kept up nicely. Good sleep, nice breakfast (not over the top, but adequate). I would recommend.

Bring earplugs! I'll start with the positive. The hotel is very nice and so were the staff that we directly interacted with (more later). The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and the breakfast they offer was very good. It's a great location, less than 5 minutes from at least 10 restaurants probably more, also a Target, Walmart and shopping mall are very close by. The price was reasonable and we will consider staying here again.... BUT...now the bad. The walls are VERY thin. As with all newer hotels, I'm sure it was a cost saving measure but damn. We could literally hear the conversation through the wall that we shared with the room next door. They allow pets, which I think is great! But the dog next door to us would bark and wake us up if it heard someone open a door in the hallway. Not great. We heard every laugh every cough every door slam (HUGE PROBLEM). The door slamming was absolutely outrageous. It woke me up every time. We were on the first floor and the floor above us was also thin. The person staying above us was very heavy footed. The problem we had with an employee and it wasn't even really a problem, more of a very annoying inconvenience. We got up there Thursday afternoon, and Friday morning I tried sleeping in a bit because we had a late wedding that evening. Housekeeping was doing their job and I wasn't expecting them to be a church mouse or anything, but every room they went in and out of, the door would slam EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. To the point where I yelled "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" or something like that and it stopped. So that's the bad part. I didn't have any interaction with the housekeeper and I know they we're doing there job and I feel bad looking back. Not all of the door slamming was housekeeping. A lot of it was children or people just letting it slam. Overall we would stay here again but we will probably bring ear plugs next time.

Nice hotel, stayed here with my school aged sons and had a nice time. Super friendly staff, very accommodating. Pool is fun to play in but not very large, if you're looking to do laps you might want to look elsewhere. Hot tub is small by hotel standards but perfectly reasonable to relax in with a couple close friends. Very close to the mall, only took about 20 minutes to drive to the aquarium or harbor.

(2 QB) Room was clean but needs brightening, very dark. Wall's are thin, could easily hear movement/voices above & in hall. Showing age related wear. Mattress on the bed closest to the bathroom was quite bowed the mattress on the other bed was a bit better but not overly comfortable. Our needs were met & the staff was helpful & pleasant. A rather vanilla experience, did not have the breakfast. Note: Had difficulty getting food delivery. As a sleep & go this is an adequate hotel. Beyond that it wouldn't be right for me.

Worst hotel stay. There was one guy working here that made part of my stay tolerable with being honest and helpful. The rest of the workers I came across were very unprofessional, rude, and had no class. To start the Asian girl working that checked me in flat out lied about better rooms available, the nice young man helped me figure it out from her not wanting to do her job. Then the cherry on top was the the 2 ladies working in the AM at check-out that seemed very mentally unstable to say the least. Possibly a manager and Assistant general manager? As they were 2 women. They target others that do nothing wrong. And do nothing about the ones that do. Stay clear of this run down hotel.

The hotel was fairly decent. My spouse and I stayed for a few days. A bit pricey given how we made reservations less than a week in advance. All of the staff were pleasant to interact with, and the room was quiet. We brought our small dog, who'd bark whenever he heard another dog. The hot tub was a nice bonus. What kept me from giving this a five star rating were some cleanliness issues. There was some mold in the bathroom sink around the ring, for example, and there was a strange, narrow-looking bug in my bedsheets that kind of looked like a cockroach. I showed a picture of the bug to the staff member as I was checking out, and they provided a $30 discount. They didn't seem particularly surprised about the bug, but they were apologetic about it. My dog also found a hard pasta noodle in our hotel (we got it out of his mouth before he could swallow it, thankfully), so it wasn't cleaned thoroughly enough, but still overall sufficient. Overall, this was a decent experience. Not sure if I would stay here again, but the place being dog friendly was a big motivator for us to choose this hotel. The friendly staff, amenities, and dog-friendly accommodations outweighed the downsides of staying at this hotel, although $139/night plus taxes was a bit steep.

This hotel was amazing! The staff was by far the friendliest hotel staff I've ever met. The breakfast was delicious and included with the room. The room was very spacious and comfortable! The pool was nice as well!

Really nice hotel. Friendly service. Only issues were they didn't have very good pillows which is really important. And you can't control the air conditioning in your own room. They make you believe you do by putting a thermostat in there but they have weird little sensors and cameras hidden in your room and they said it was for air conditioning control. So the air never stayed on and our room was outrageously hot and miserable the entire time. And I will never trust a place that has hidden sensors and cameras in the room. I've never seen that before but it made us incredibly uncomfortable since no one could fully explain the purpose of them. And wifi is terrible.

Clean, comfortable room. Friendly staff. Breakfast staff kept everything restocked. As seems to be the case at all hotels these days, I had to ask at the front desk for fresh towels for our second night in spite of the "leave towels on the floor" sign in the bathroom, so they need to clarify their housekeeping practices. Otherwise, no complaints.

The staff was amazing! Very hard working and friendly from the assistant manager Rhonda, to the front desk person Sharon, to the gentleman working in the breakfast area, to the housekeeping staff. The breakfast had great options. Also, we appreciate that our dog can stay free. This is my go to place to stay in Duluth.

We are Diamond reward members with Wyndham. We stay all over the states and like Wyndham, as it is a middle of the road place for us. This is by far the WORST smelling hotel we have ever stayed at. It has a strong dog/cat urine odor. From the time you walk in. I assumed it would fade but upon entering Rm 206, the smell literally burned our nose it was so strong... Especially between the two beds. I felt so nasty. Had it not been 1AM and everything around us not been booked we would've moved. I feel like only certain rooms should be allowed animals...not ALL. I will reiterate that you will NOT get away from the smell. It WILL NOT fade or go away. I highly DO NOT recommend this particular hotel.
