I don't like to write bad reviews, but after last week's experience , I thought I should say something. Myself and some out of town guests decided we would stop and give it a try for the first time. I've heard mix reviews about the food at work. We ended up receiving the wrong drinks from the bar. We asked our waiter for some napkins after spilling some salsa and never received them. The black beans were all dried out like they had been sitting in a pot for some time. The rice tasted just like tomatoe paste and rice slapped together. The shrimp fajitas were bland. We had to ask two different servers to get some silverware so we could eat our food after it arrived. During this whole time, our waiter didn't seem to care about us or his other tables much. Just do the bare minimum and dissappear. Overall, it wasn't a good first impression. I understand mistakes get made, and places get busy, but when you normally get seated at a table to get silverware and napkins to start. The chips and queso were very good. We will probably give it a second chance, but not at this moment.

Was so unsatisfied with my meal that I couldn’t finish it. The beans were not even solid, they were more a paste texture. The rice wasn’t edible. The beef on my tacos tasted like dog food. The tacos said they came with sauce on the menu, and then I got them they had 2 drops of sauce on them. Do not recommend!

It's easy. 3 days, $1250.00 for a hotel. 39.6 for a meal. I don't want to see servers dressed like uncaring. Uphold a dress code. Manners matter. If I got the cost, dang, Manage behavior. Clean it up! Sweats? Nibble where the fodder is. This is run ashore. Owner, expect. Slovenly isn't why we go.

The steak tacos were flavorful, but nothing special. The best part of my meal was the avocado lime dressing with the side salad and the pico (salsa fresco) with the chips was really tasty too. The location is the best part, particularly the outdoor seating. The margaritas were very weak and utterly flavorless. We mentioned it to the waitress, and when she brought the manager out he was defensive and supposed that we might not know what margaritas taste like. He told us “well each of these (60oz) pitchers have at least 5 shots in them”. He did bring out extra shots which helped, but was hardly friendly. Not a nightmare, but definitely not impressive and not really worth trying again. 3 stars.

Atmosphere was good, drinks were great and the server was nice. The food though came out fairly warm and like it had been sitting under the food warmers for awhile. I had cheese enchiladas which the shredded cheese inside was not cooked or melted. My husbands burrito was okay and also looked like it had been under the warmer for a while (beans were crusted on top).

One meal (steak burrito) was not even warm when served and we had to ask for it to be heated (a rare event in our restaurant eating lives). The other meal, a lobster/crab enchilada, was very tasty and quite warm, even hot, when it came out. Had this meal not been as good as it was the rating would have been a 1 or 2. They were out of 2 of their happy hours beverages despite offering it to us when we ordered. The service was slow but we understand the restaurant industry has problems having enough employees and it appeared there were 2 servers for the entire dining area. Despite the cold weather, or because of it, there were flies in the dining area. The total bill was $50 and we expect a lot more for such a price.

Beautiful place to hangout and have your dinner outside in the patio. The food were awesome. They serve with love and respect. The staffs were friendly and helped us to decide our menu (beans, gluten free, dark IPA, Ale, etc.). They have a pretty decent bar inside the building, you will enjoy your food and drinks there too.

The enchiladas taste like cheese wiz and you have to pay extra for chips and salsa. The drinks were very weak but looked pretty. However, the service was great!

The chips and salsa were the best item of the evening. I thought the place to be overpriced for mediocre food. My fajitas did not come out sizzling. The wife's seafood burrito was fair. There is an upcharge for beans and rice and a "back of the house" fee of five percent. And seriously, $9.00 for a piece of tres leches cake?

Nice server who did a great job! Beware service charge. Shrimp “tropical” tacos were not good…super basic, just shrimp and lettuce w sauce and fruit. Needed way more flavor and effort. Other food was good, such as guacamole bites, chips and salsa, seafood enchiladas. Nice to eat on patio right in the thick of things!

Have visited Duluth a few times and have been wanting to try Angie’s, finally did and I don’t recommend. I ordered chicken fajitas because it said on the menu it was a “house specialty”. There wasn’t anything really special about them. Chicken was dry and there were 6 small pieces cut up. It seemed like the chicken had been microwaved for the 5th time before serving it. Onions and peppers were good, but it’s not that hard to cook peppers and onions. The food was just very Americanized. If you’re looking for Mexican food, look the other way. I got a side of rice and beans for an extra $3. The beans tasted and looked like they went to the grocery store and bought a can of black beans, dumped them out on the plate, cooked them in the microwave, and served them. The rice was mushy-nothing like Mexican rice-probably because they didn’t fry the rice before adding the water and boiling it. Chipotle has better rice than they did. Margaritas were good, but the food outweighed the drinks. Would recommend if you’re looking to be completely disappointed.also our bill ended up being $86 for a price range for a couple.

Host was great! Services after seemed off, no offers for drink refills. Food took a while even though it was not that busy, but the server did apologize for the wait. Even the salad as an appetizer took 25 minutes to come out. Food was just ok, the street tacos appeared to have been sitting for a while based on the top of the beef and the shells were stuck to the plate so couldn’t be picked up. Plus, this is another establishment that has added a service fee, even though food prices are quite high. The place is fine to stop and grab something to eat, but not a memorable experience.

Beans are not rinsed. Fajitas were really limey cheese dip is like a velveta not the white cheese you get at a Mexican restaurant and it’s almost $12 rice mooshy like it’s sat for along time. Chimichanga was decent barley sauced salsa was very good soft though

Im from Texas and the food was terrible. This food is not Tex-Mex. Its like they bought the tortillas from Walmart and forgot to season all the food. Never eating here again. The atmosphere was great just like the drinks but that's about it.

Unique variation of Tex-Mex. Being from Texas, we have better Mexican food than they have in Mexico, so I was impressed with this place! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is that the food wasn't very hot when served. Not sure why it wasn't but it was good anyway.

I tried the Buffalo cauliflower tacos and was surprised by how delicious they were. My fiance got the enchiladas combo and reported that it was very tasty. The fried ice cream was the best I've had in years. With the perfect combination of ice cream, whipped cream, cinnamon and honey, we enjoyed every bite. Definitely big enough to share!!

I went there for the first time with two friends. This was the worst Mexican food I have had in a while. We also had the worst service. The facility was clean. I ordered tacos, chips & queso, salsa, and a margarita. Everything was gross. My drink tasted like pure syrup. We were ignored by our server for the majority of our time there. He did not come to check on us. We had to flag him down each time to correct our orders. The whole experience was a nightmare. It took 25 minutes for our server to ring us up. I will not be returning ever.

Just came in for drinks and chips and salsa. Drinks were good, chips & salsa were pretty good. It's a nice place and would come back again to try more!

Service is good. Salsa was chunky like pico but seasoned very well. Unlike most Mexican restaurants you do have to pay for chips and salsa, but it’s very low ($2.50 when we were here) and free refills. Food was good, they had some lighter options which was nice for lunch.

Was reluctant to go here because of the reviews, but the staff was friendly and the food was great. Unique Chili con Queso and the Street Tacos were awesome. The grilled zucchini was a nice touch. Prices were a little high for the area but it was the heart of the tourist zone, so can't complain too much.

We made a reservation for 7:45 pm didn't get in, wasn't able to get seated till 7:55pm. The food was delicious and yummy. I had the Sriracha enchiladas and my girl had the chimichangas. I would highly recommend eating here. The wait staff was extremely helpful. Be prepared and patient when trying to eat here. This place is a busy and happening place. Especially during during summer. The mexican fried icecream was the best part of the night. Plus you cant go wrong with icecream.

Gluten senitive menu available. Service was good. Ordered chips and salsa, salsa was okay. Got 3 steak tacos, they were good and reasonably priced. They came with grilled zucchini, which was a hunk of zucchini grilled on one side. It was best when hot, but honestly I wished it had been smaller pieces and not just a big hunk of zucchini. My not gluten sensitivity hubby got soft shell tacos and says they were okay. Decently priced. It worked, food didn't cause reaction and was pretty good.

We arrived during shift change, and it took a bit to get our order taken. I did not get the street tacos ordered, but the chicken tacos I did get were okay. The tropical tacos my husband ordered were very good. The kids' meals were generously portioned, but my toddler was surprised (and not in a good way) to find Kraft cheese inside of her quesadilla rather than the typical cheddar cheese. My other kiddos were satisfied with their meals, and the wait time for our food was reasonable.

Would have liked a little more char on the shrimp. I'm hoping they weren't undercooked. Chimi was good...huge. Server was great.

I was impressed with this place, really good service and great location. Had a steak burrito with BBQ sauce and the combo was really good. Parking was really easy, a pay lot across the street. Parking might be different during peak season. The only reason I didn't give 5 Stars was the prices, seemed a little high for a Mexican style restaurant. But it is in a prime spot so that probably has something to do with prices. I would definitely go again.

From the outside, you think you are walking into a bar and Grill. I was surprised when I realized it was a Mexican food restaurant. I wasn't expecting that. It was delicious though. The bar tender made some amazing drinks and the tacos were incredible.

This place was swamped but they had us seated within five minutes and a server had our appetizer and drinks to the table in another five. We sat outside which made for an interesting Saturday afternoon for people watching. While the service was fantastic and speedy, the food was honestly only slightly better than average - it lacked any sort of bold flavor or remembrance after the fact. I will say that they can make a generous and delicious mojito!
