I would recommend to book in advance as there are only few tables, which makes it a really unique place. The service is pro and the food is really tasty. Worth it !

Amazing food and breathless view

Though difficult to get to (as it’s right at the top of a comunidade), it’s well worth the hike. To get there, get an Uber to the "quadra do esporte", you’ll see a white wall. From there, you’ll need to go up a forested uphill path (which is met with stunning views of Christo and Pão De Açucar) at the top of the path on the right you’ll see a sign which says “Bar Do Tino” (about a 7 minute walk). You’ll have to squeeze through a tiny concrete walkway and you’ll arrive when you see the tile stairs. The food itself was home smoked with fresh vibrant ingredients. We had the chicken and the ribs which were by far some of the best in the city. The beer was ice cold and the views were spectacular. Note that the famous chicken dishes are only served on weekends!

We loved our visit to Bar do Tino! We were made to feel very welcome and the food is delicious and plentiful. The view over Rio is absolutely stunning and we happily sat there drinking beers and looking out over the mountains all afternoon. On a practical note, it is at the top of a very steep hill on the edge of a favela so getting there is a little challenging (but also part of the adventure!).
