Das Museum ist sehr zentral gelegen und erstreckt sich auf 2 Etagen. Dort präsentieren Künstler*innen dieser Zeit ihre Werke. Ich war an Nacht der Museen zum ersten Mal dort. Die Ausstellung war irgendwie cool, weil sie viel Raum zur Interpretation gab. Auf der anderen Seite sehr unverständlich für Menschen, die ein geringeres Kunstverständnis haben. Es gab weder Infos zu den Künstlern, noch zu den Werken.

Very nice museum of contemporary art. Medium size collection with a nice diversity of objects. Everything presented in an interesting post-modern way.

The museum was built in 1967 in in a sober brutalist architectural style using lots of prefab concrete The building houses the Kunsthalle and the Kunstverein for NRW. The exhibitions are from contemporary artist with sometimes challenging art for the visitors. Some may like that, others not but just immerse yourself in art

Eine wirklich Wunderschöne Kunsthalle in Düsseldorf. Die Räume sind alle schön groß und sehr gut beleuchtet. Für mich war die aktuelle Ausstellung von Martha Jungwirth etwas chaotisch. Viele Bilder hatten von der Künstlerin keinen Titel erhalten und ich konnte mich mit der Unordnung der Künstlerin nicht identifizieren. Aber das ist das tolle und interessante an Kunst, da es für jeden Unterschiedlich gesehen werden kann. Trotzdem toll! Toiletten sind auch vorhanden und sehr sauber

Small exhibition

Ist ein sehr schönes anwesen sehr schön gepflegt mal sehr weitläufig von indern natürlich ziemlich modern gestaltet mit vielen skulpturen und Bildern der Eintritt ist auch nicht so teuer man kriegt Student auch gern eine amüsieren oder eben als Arbeitsloser oder sozialhilfe Empfänger des nur 5 EUR und kriegt doch verbilligt durch die anderen museum hier in Düsseldorf ein Diesel passt kriegt man auch wieder billiger als für jeden was dabei uns wirklich mal atemberaubend dass überhaupt zu Zusehen Kunst ist einfach Geschmackssache es vielleicht nicht für jeden was dabei aber jeder wird seine Sache dort drin finden

Nach der derzeitigen sehr guten Mondrian Sonderausstellung schauten wir uns noch die feste Ausstellung in den oberen Räumen an. Wir staunten nicht schlecht weil alles, was Rang und Namen aus dem 20. Jahrhundert hat, vorhanden ist. Allein diese feste Ausstellung rechtfertigt schon einen Besuch. Matisse, Klee, Picasso, Miro etc bis zu Beuys und Richer und, und...sehr zu empfehlen.

Well, I generally like museums ... and modern art. Exhibition is pretty weird in my opinion. It’s a collection of works of Düsseldorf artists from 70s. Some works do reflect the spirit of that time, like anti-war movement, anti-capitalism, sex revolution, etc. But the topic hasn’t been developed enough. It’s not good idea to visit the place with kids. The admission for children is free though.

Vor kurzem diese Kunsthalle besucht. Im Gebäude großzügige Räume mit Kunstwerken. Allerdings alles sehr speziell von diversen Künstlern arrangiert. War nicht meine Richtung. Trotzdem für Interessierte gut geeignet.

I love this museum!! Super nice and friendly staff! They have Family day on the first Sunday of each month with free kids art workshop for 6 years old and above. My daughter enjoys the workshop very much! They also have kids workshop during school holidays ( Summer break, Autumn break, etc) Highly recommended!

*This is not the mondriaan/Picasso museum* *Art is also subjective* With that said 3/4 collections were very uninspired, unimpressive and barely hit the threshold of being able to be called art (at the time of this review (naked fotographer, ugly painting man, tv snapshots and caged people), people kept following us around and eyed our every move. I'm giving 2 stars because the people are friendly and collections change.

Two exhibitions at this moment but well curated. Vibe is cool. The book shop is also awesome.

I went here for an exhibition, very nice exhibition, the only thing that disappoint me is the lack of it, I wish for the size to be bigger, instead of finishing it in 15 min.

We were lucky to come here on the 2nd Sunday of the month, becausd then the entrance is for free. We were very happy about this, as it is quite a small museum and we did not really enjoy the art. Make sure you take a 2 euro coin with you for the locker, as it's mandatory to store your bags in there.

Am Freutag(23.02.24)Nachmittag bin ich von Iserlohn nach Düsseldorf gefahren um die Kunsthalle zu besuchen. In einem Ausstellungsraum war ich mit vielen anderen Besucher und stand vor einem Kunstwerk als eine Museumswärtin/Museumsbetreuerin zu mir kam und mich aufforderte ihr mein Eintrittsband zu zeigen. Mir ist es klar,dass sie dazu berechtigt ist und es gehört zu ihrer Aufgaben zu kontrlieren ob Besucher den Eintritt bezahlet haben oder nicht.Was ich nicht verstehen kann:Warum die Wärtin nur MICH nach dem Eintrittsband gefragt hat???Wieso hat sie die andere Besucher nicht kontroliert??? Ich lege viel Wert auf gepflegte Erscheinung,deshalb war ich sehr gut bekleidet und machte keinen asozialen Eindruck.Nur bei meiner Hautfarbe war nichts zu ändern!!!Mir aber war nicht bekannt,dass farbige Menschen in der Kunsthalle Düsseldorf verdächtigt und unerwünscht sind!!! Die Stuation im Ausstellungsraum war sehr unangenehm.Selbsverständlich habe ich der Wärtin mein Eintrittsband geszeigt,aber danach wollte ich die Halle sofort verlassen.

Nur zwei Ausstellungsräume waren begehbar, der Rest war geschlossen. Für den Preis sollte es wirklich mehr zu sehen geben oder der ganze Eintritt etwas günstiger sein. Im Großen und Ganzen sehr enttäuschend, einen Besuch würde ich nicht empfehlen.
