👍👍 A beautifully designed bridge that does everything it needs to do. I particularly appreciate their stability. You can cross the Rhine without getting wet! A beautifully designed bridge that does everything it needs to do. I particularly appreciate their stability. You can cross the Rhine without getting wet! Absolutely no matter whether you are traveling on foot, by bike, by train or by car. For the parents among us: It is also completely child-friendly and you can even bring your dog. Actually you have to deduct a star because the weather is very important for the fun factor here. What's particularly crazy is that depending on which direction you go, you end up in different parts of the city. Brilliant! I highly recommend it.

From here you have a beautiful view of Düsseldorf's landmarks. The St. Lambertus Church with its leaning tower, the Rhine promenade, the Rhine Tower and much more.

The traditional fish market takes place below the bridge on a few Sundays in the spring, summer and autumn months. It gets very crowded from midday onwards. There are only limited parking spaces available. A variety of commercial stalls offer kibbeling, fried fish, fruit and vegetables, honey, meat and sausage products as well as handicrafts. The only disadvantage: 'overtourism', otherwise worth seeing.

Has an amazing view of the city and during the festival, it's the perfect place to observe fireworks.

The bridge was clean and crosses over the Rhine, with beautiful views of the Alstadt and Oberkassel cities. I liked the separation between bicycle and pedestrian lanes.

Architecturally there is no comparison to the beautiful bridge that stood here until the Second World War. The view is still very nice.

I always enjoy going over it! Beautiful view of Düsseldorf's old town, the Rhine Tower and the Kniebrücke. Of course you can also see the beautiful, large Rhine meadows. There is also a bike path on the street. Normally there aren't many cars on the bridge, but a train runs over it about every 2 minutes (reflects the Düsseldorf atmosphere). 😄

The bridge is not so long as it seems from down, so a walk through is not hard at all. It has a nice view on the city center, and traffic is not that loud.

The statue on the driveway to the Oberkasseler Bridge was created by Düsseldorf artist Bert Gerresheim and depicts the Catholic bridge saint Johannes Nepomuk, who is traditionally found on many bridges in Catholic areas of Germany. Nepomuk (+1393 in Prague) is venerated as a martyr in the Catholic Church, as is the priest Jerzy Popiełuszko, who was murdered by the Polish communist secret service in 1984.

This is a very wonderful place with a very beautiful natural scenario awaiting. Just as refreshing as the first ray of a sunrise. I was very excited to see the doves and swans over a huge number and to spend some time on the lake side. Highly recommend.
