There is plenty of parking, with a public bathroom, benches, trails, and the location of local educational centers. A fantastic park with a plethora of wildlife. We go to this park often as it is at the end of a nice trail that starts on a small road. This park is home to a number of school-based learning centers and, in many ways, is the most educationally focused public park in any of the surrounding areas. If you donate to your local park programs, then this is the hallmark of local funding well spent. With nature trails for walking and covered areas with benches for resting, this park facilitates not only your standard park amenities but also a bird-watching den or enclosed structure complete with an eagle nest. There also happens to be a full-scale series of power lines that accommodate the local wildlife for the viewing pleasure of the park goers.

A must visit! Great viewing of wildlife and native Florida plants. Extensive boardwalk path meanders through the forest and over creeks and streams. A visitor center has many hands on education stations for kids. Actual stuffed animals for everyone to know first hand the size of Florida animals. One area has many animal pelts for children and adults to feel the different texture of animal fur. We got the late afternoon and ran out of time. Additionally there is a very nice gift shop and restrooms spaced for convenience.

We loved this park!! Came in the afternoon on a weekday to walk the shorter trail. We saw lots of activities advertised in the environmental center that we were interested in. Clean restrooms. The trails were well maintained and marked. There wasn't a large amount of shade on many sections of the trail, so bring extra sunscreen and protection.

Though the weather wasn’t accompanying my desires, still enjoyed this place quite much. Definitely a place to visit again when the warmer, sunnier days are back. Impressive to see the financial value that some of these trees have along their life.

This is one of my favorite preserves in Florida. A diversity of plants and beautiful, well managed habitats. Trails are easy to follow and lengths for all abilities. The nature center is beautiful, they have boardwalks, classroom space, a gift shop, and periodic native plant sales. Their many workshops and presentations are priceless. Check out their YouTube channel! Sadly, no pets allowed. 😞

This park has a wonderful boardwalk trail that elevates you a little above the ground. A great place to see gopher tortoises and the occasional alligator. We seen a three-footer hanging out near the crawl space of one of the classrooms.

My boyfriend took us here because he ran 1 of 2 crews for York Bridge 12+ yrs ago and built many of the composite walkways throughout the preserve that visitors still use. It was great to listen how untouched it was and how carefully they brought in equipment to keep the natural look of the area. The composite wood was made differently way back then, mixing plastics with paper products, but the majority has held up very well considering our hot, humid, rainy summers and torrential storms that pass through. The preserve is awesome, especially the education building where welcoming volunteers show you exhibits and tell you about Brooker Creek. We worked interactive exhibits and watched a film in their theater that was really informative about how the land had changed hands and use. You can bring children here too, it's a wonderful experience.

Great place to go on long walking trails and enjoy being surrounded by nature! Perfect for brining the family outdoors and getting some exercise. Since we went over the weekend there were quiet a few people on the boardwalk parts, but thankfully the trails were not crowded. Unfortunately some of the trails are currentry swamps. So we were unable to go on the longer walking trails. I am not sure if anyone can ever go on those, since this was during the dry season, so it would be even worse during the summer months. Well, I hope someday the trails won't be under water, and hopefully we will be able to walk the trails. I cannot wait to see more of the untouched Florida nature lands.

Great park with good hiking trails & amenities! It was my first time stopping by this park and at first drove to the wrong place (!! MAKE SURE to select the broiler creek education center and NOT the walk through if you have a car and need to park !!) but I'm so happy we made it in time to hike the trails. They have well marked paths with varying degrees of exertion ranging from short and flat to longer and muddier trails. It was super fun! It took me about 2 hours to hike the longest trail, and that was accounting for lots of breaks to stop and enjoy nature + take pictures! It was a great experience and had the added bonus of nice bathrooms for the walk back. I didn't get to stop in the education center since we arrived after it closed but I'll definitely be back soon! 10/10 would recommend for both avid hikers and leisure nature enjoyers

I love this Preserve! Every time I visit it, I imagine this is what Old Florida looked like. Back before the 1900s. It has multiple walking trails. Plus I cool little Museum and gift shop. They also offer different talks indoors and nature walks talking about birds and trees and other wildlife. Check online for their schedule. It’s a great way to spend a morning.

Go to this preserve and be prepared to walk in nature! It's free, well maintained, and so enjoyable. You're almost guaranteed to see wildlife (gators and deer are quite common).

My first time to this park, I was amazed how large it is. You really feel like you’re out in the wild. We came to do some birding, but it was right before a big storm so we didn’t see all that many species. Still we spotted warblers and a flock of bluebirds. Good variety of native plants too, like red bay and false indigo. Will definitely be back to this Pinellas gem.

I loved this preserve! We really like adding hikes into our days whenever possible, this location is one we will be returning to when in the area! Parts of the trails get flooded over with rain, so bring boots or be prepared to be muddy if you want to complete the loops. A lot of the trails are naturally shaded by trees (apply bug spray), and you'll need sunscreen/hat/water for the parts that aren't.

Everything about this location is PERFECT. Best trail I have ever been on!! well maintained and lots of wildlife activity too! I saw a river otter, woodpecker, and tadpoles! We also saw some coyote feces, amongst some other wildlife activity from that same morning. It's very cool. Definitely a great place to take the wildlife enthusiast in your life!! Parking is free, HOWEVER, please keep it clean and help support the preserve in anyway possible! NO DOGS allowed but you can buy your doggy a lil treat at the gift shop ❤️ The customer service at the education center and gift shop was above and beyond perfection. ❤️ The ladies that were working there 12/23/2023 are incredibly passionate about the preserve and what they do! The education center is incredibly clean and well preserved. Definitely worth spending a little money there, as the money goes straight to the preserve! They even have a second-hand table in the gift shop. People can donate things and can give the item a second life. 😊 I hope everyone that comes here enjoys it as much as I did!

We had a lovely hike, about 6.5 miles, on the black water cutoff trail and the wildwood trail. From other comments part of this trail is often under water but it seems at the moment to be dry along the whole trail. They are renovating some of the trails so we did a bit of backtracking at the end but only about 1/4 mile. Met a little snake and saw a few birds.

What an amazing nature preserve!! I brought my children for storytime (10:30 every Thursday) and was pleasantly surprised! The Environmental Education Center is like a museum! Very interactive and kept the kids busy and learning for over an hour. There are games, a theater, many exhibits. It's totally free! There's also a gift shop! The preserve has many trails for different levels of experience.

Such a beautiful park. Peaceful and a great way to get my kids involved in my exercise. We didn't get to the auditorium or the shop but we will be back for sure! Large park so we did not make it through all of it. Saw a baby gator in the water and heard lots of birds chatting!

I noticed the sign as I was driving by. So I drove in to see what was there, not really expecting to stop. But when I saw there was a visitor center I parked and went into check it out. There was an art exhibit in one building and wildlife exhibit in the other building. I’ll definitely be back to check out the trails when it’s a little cooler outside.

Best in dry weather as the trails can get swamped out. But it's a lovely place for a nature walk. I've seen deer, turtles, gators, birds, butterflies, mushrooms, all sorts of wonderful natural beauty

Brooker Creek Preserve & Environmental Education Center is a wonderful destination for nature enthusiasts. The trails offer a variety of habitats to explore, and wildlife sightings are frequent. You can see various bird species, tortoises, snakes, and even the occasional coyote. Some areas are currently undergoing construction, but the majority of the trails are well-maintained and provide an excellent opportunity to connect with nature.
