Just recently moved to the area and thought I would check this pub out and oh do I regret it. The two watrresses working were amazing and that's where my two stars are going besides the service the food wasn't great and definitely no covid precautions being followed as no members of the staff were wearing masks and it made me feel worse when I seen the kitchen staff wasn't wearing them either. It was also very uncomfortable the boss who was drinking and sitting at the bar made a comment about me wearing a mask around him. "thanks for saving me" he laughed then I politely asked to pay so I could leave. He then quickly handed me the debit machine and I left. We also dealt with another person sitting at the bar who said he could knock out my brother who was wearing his mask. I wish nothing but the best to the two servers as they were the only good thing for me in this establishment.

Never going to this place ever again...seems like waitresses are so busy not to serve us ....we played 2 pool games and not a single waitress came to ask if we needed to order any drinks or food...we walked out very patiently and calmly ....and went to Boston pizza in Albany... Crown and Anchor definitely needs change of management...just so that customers can be served better in a timely manner...

Just recently moved here. The waitrresses working were okay at best the service of the food was not good at all, tasted like my food was put in the microwave had that weird flavor, top it off there was no covid safety procedures as I seen the only time is when the waitresses brought me my food, I didn't even see the cooks wearing masks. I did not like the feeling and won't be going back sorry not sorry. Even had a run in with a guy drinking at the bar saying he was the owner, sad to see that the owner has no respect for his own establishment to get drunk around his so called business. I'm hoping things change pray for the workers there

Wish zero was the lowest star rating! We were there for 2 hours, the service was the worse. We wanted shots for 2 hours but not one person came to take our order. We were willing to spend bills at this place but they treated us like we didn't exist. Went to O2 Joe's after being "banned for taking 6 wings because I sat there for 2 hours and 7 beers waiting. At O2 Joes we had top notch service while the place was packed and dropped $250 on shots, food and beer... get this, they also had 2 waitresses working!!!

Linked Facebook page that lists the price of wings at 49 cents and beer at 6-7 dollars. Upon arrival wings are 89 cents and beer is "dunno... not listed" I drove 20 min for those "cheap" wings. I've been bamboozled and so will you. Lying prices are still up and being advertised. I have yet to find an honest bar in North Edmonton. At me with you suggestions, I would love them. In the meantime me and my 7 year old might start an illegal home bar. Still breaks the law like the rest of these Schusters but at least we'll be honest about our prices!

Just saw your video on the news you can clearly seen the bartender not wearing a mask and then it looks like your waitress attacked the customer who was not wearing and then got hit in the head with a glass I’ve been to this place a few time since COVID started and I know the staff doesn’t follow proper COVID protocol

I agree with Taco posting. I visited C&A a month or so ago...and experienced very much the same. Except the two servers on duty...quickly scolded me when I asked why they weren't wearing a mask when they served me drinks...saying: We only have to wear them when we serve food! That is not true! Health regulations...masks to be worn by all staff when serving. Patrons, looked like regulars, most were not wearing masks when getting up from their tables...I.e. to smoke, play VLT etc. The games area filled up...with patrons...to play pool and darts...most had No mask....C&A please improve your Covid standards...C&A is a great local night club...locally owned...love it there, food is good, servers are generally great ....but I am really disappointed how they are not meeting the same Covid standards as chain restaurants like Original Joe's on 127st. RESPONSE TO C&A...if your staff are wearing masks 100% of the time now...there were not when I was in. The server at the bar said they only to wear the mask when they served food. Your patrons are mixed up ...due to loosely goosey rules.

Excellent time at The Crown and Anchor. Kareoke was a blast. The DJ Richard was a hit and very lively, he kept the Kareoke moving and fun. Everyone who sang was awesome even the ones who definitely didn't have the pipes for it! There were singers that sang GREAT and there were singers that gave it their all and ended up being GREAT simply for the effort they put in. Everyone was cheered for their performances. The food was good and the service was great. I would highly recommend!

Fun place. Karaoke on Saturday night was a blast. Actually had some pretty good singers. Just nice to see people enjoying the night and letting all the troubles on their shoulders disappear.

I went here for lunch with my work crew and we were all extremely happy to be enjoying an early Friday. Unfortunately, one of our members did not enjoy the clubhouse sandwich (do not recommend) as it was half frozen. I totally understand the disappointment of having a meal that was not expected. Our crew member politely mentioned to the owner, the sandwich was cold and that it didn’t agree with her. The owner then went on to say that there was nothing wrong with it and did not offer an apology or compensation. Our crew member was still charged for a meal she took one bite out of. Clearly they are money hungry and have no human compassion. The chef threatened my crew mate by saying he would slap her and made racist remarks. Absolutely disgusting. Over a sandwich? The owners did not do anything in this situation as they sat back and watched at the bar. What a horrible experience. I will never go back there.

The food is fire, the atmosphere is great, and the waitress Roxanne is so friendly and lovely! Side note, I highly recommend the wings, a lot of flavour options and they were perfectly crispy without being overcooked.

We came here for lunch yesterday based on the reviews. Personally I would not return. It is very run down inside yet have the need for a tv screen in the washroom to display the weather network. My husbands beef dip was dry and sad looking. When he told the waitress he would have liked more fries, twice, the waitress just laughed at him. The food was minimal. I had chicken wings, they were tasty, hard to do wrong. Lacking any lustre.

The prices and service are ok but needs more hands on from the husband. The owner needs to be more customer oriented. The wife is a rock star but the husband doesn't seem to do much but wander around

Went yesterday, service was absolutely bar none. Great job to our waitress/server (didn't get her name, I believe she was the owner). Beer was cold, great prices. Out of the few places I have been since COVID, this place felt the most comfortable and welcoming. Will definitely be back!

I phoned to ask about their wing specials. Bonnie said they were 25 cents a wing with the purchase of a beverage. That’s hard to believe but went there and the wings are 99 cents each on special after 5pm. Don’t know why she thought she had to lie to me. Of course I left. But I would have still went there if she told me the truth. I know wings have gone up in price.

We got served by Peggy and I've never had such rude service at crown and anchor. Each time we go it gets progressively worse. Needless to say this time will be the last. The manager attempted to come over and "fix" the situation but she was just as rude. Wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.

Me and a buddy wanted to go here, and despite advertising as open, they were closed. It was 11pm. Some business owners are afraid to make money in Edmonton. We won't be making the effort again. Good luck, Crown and Anchor.

If your looking for a good time and excellent food then head to The Crown and Anchor Pub in Edmonton! You will not be disappointed! The food and staff by far #1. Support these fine folks as they do a lot in the community as well.

Karaoke that doesn't defer for hockey!! If you want karaoke on game night, this is the destination for you. Host is on point. Great sound system as well. But, a bit of a victim of its own positives; the rotation can get a bit long.

At first.... seemed to be a chill pub/restaurant. Local patrons were very friendly. Food was great. Our server was amazing. The extremely annoying manager/sever was extremely rude. She gave away the "to win" NFL jersey of the week to someone without even doing the draw. And when it came time to pay my bill.......she stood next to me and told me how much to tip my server.. never going back! I suggest you all avoid this place at all costs.

The karaoke person(Richard), increases speed of the lyrics on monitor if he chooses to. Very unprofessional behaviour. (he is no Elvis Presley himself singing). Food was mediocre, ($15 for mushroom tops, sautéed with melted cheese on top. The servers were great (I tipped 15%) . Will not go there on another karaoke night! there must be 50 other better karaoke bars around Edmonton better than this P.O.S. Kesh Mani

So what does a 3 star review mean? Simply put I'm not recommending you go but I'm also not saying stay away, we did really enjoy the fried pickles and the servers were friendly and attentive but the rest of our food was just ok, honestly it's what you'd expect from a neighborhood pub, great for a drink or two but if you're hungry I know quite a few pubs that focus on their food that would be a better choice.

We ordered online from Crown & Anchor and it was not a good experience. We ordered nachos which were $26 and mainly comprised of onions and olives on a tiny portion of chips. The steak bites were fine at first but we found aluminum foil stuck to them which was disgusting. The wings were small and few, much fewer than many other establishments. The deep fried pickles were fine but nothing stellar. I’ve seen similar reviews in this vein about the cost per portion size and quite frankly, if this business can’t afford to stay afloat, it shouldn’t be in business.

I am disgusted by this establishment , it is dirty and violates multiple health codes . Their bathrooms are disgusting and I suggest people take their business elsewhere . The owner is a horrible human , he treats customers AND staff like garbage . He picks fights with customers , and talks down to the servers as if he owns them. He is misogynistic and has no respect for women or people in general. He runs an improper business and should not be supported for his abusive ways .

Been going there for years pre-pandemic. Went for my wife’s birthday tonight. Asked for a couple different drinks and was told they don’t make them here, they aren’t that “fancy.” The drinks were a Tom Collins, gin and lemonade and strawberry daiquiris, rum, lime juice, lemon juice and soda with strawberries. Also they didn’t have a drink menu. Food was amazing as usual, disappointed with the slow service and lack of drink choices that wasn’t out of a tap.

  • 5/5 Siobhan S. 1 year ago on Google
Went to celebrate a birthday and do Kareoke. We had a larger group, but service was great and kept us topped up. They offer a wide range of typical bar foods that are very tasty. Kareoke host was upbeat, funny and had a great pace keeping things moving.

I have been going to this pub every Thursday for over a year. Today, the serve was bad. The waitress said she was new and she was doing her best. That was hard to believe when individuals ordering drinks were served immediately, and I waited over 20 minutes for my food. Even the cook spoke to her about how long my food was sitting. I believe everyone needs time for training, but the owners are responsible for that training. So my question is, why did she have no help? I will not be returning.

Big bar, pool tables, darts. And we'll karaoke on certain nights. Service for drinks was good, as it did get really busy. Filled right up with singers. And several tvs for the oiler fans. I ordered some clubhouse with salad. And my date had potato skins. The food was hot and good. Will swing by another time, I need to know how the spaghetti sauce is!

Place seems like a lot of fun, lots of space with darts and pool and plenty of tables. My only complaint was the lackluster beer menu, it's just the usual line up of domestic and imported commercial beers. I would love to see them promote some Canadian craft breweries, there are lots of great ones to choose from!
