Pros: ✅ The Breakfast! By far this was the best part of the stay! All you can eat buffet with lots of options for everyone. Very friendly staff. ✅  Room included both Firm and Soft Pillows. ✅ Amazing Sheets and Comforters. If they offered them for sale I probably would have bought them. Cons: ❌ Dated Furniture / TV ❌ Sheets on both beds had stains ❌ Worn Carpets, Lamp Shade with holes, water damaged door to Bathroom (Suite 503) ❌ Room Sleeps 4 but only has two tea (1 decaffeinated) ans two coffee in room ❌ Pool closes at 11pm so was closed by the time I arrived and was the only reason I booked this hotel location. ❌ Pool depth was only 4ft and had some odd vinyl pool liner. Maybe a cheap fix for a previous leak? ❌ No pool change rooms or showers just a single occupancy bathroom and a pool side shower (With Hot & Cold), Soap dispenser was empty. ❌ Pool water was milky to the point where you could barely see your foot in 4ft of water. Heavily treated? Or just not filtering properly? Never seen pool water like that. ❌ No fan in Bathroom or anything to deal with odors and steam. ❌ Bathroom had hairs from previous occupants stuck to the wall and around the sink counter. Obviously not getting properly and thoroughly cleaned. ❌ Woke up around 6am or so from a loud noise from outside our window on the street level. Garbage Truck? ❌ Two Main Elevators Out of Order for over a week now! Had to use the smaller service Elevator? ❌ I wasn't given a recipet when I checked in or out.

I’ve stayed at this hotel numerous times in the last several months as it is convenient to a location I frequent on a biweekly basis. Most times, staff are mostly friendly (some great ones, some not), the room is clean enough and beds are comfortable. I’ve stayed at nicer Holiday Inn’s in the city, but sacrifice for convenience. Sometime during my last city trip (could be at the hotel, could’ve been another location), my rear bumper was dinged. We didn’t realize this until we returned home (wet roads, muddy vehicle). I called the hotel to see if they have cameras. Turns out they do, but are unwilling to view the footage and will only review it if we involve police. My arrival and departure time were during a very specific window on Saturday. A different chain I stayed with on Friday night offered to review their footage and if action was necessary they would then need to involve the police - that’s completely fair! I’m very disappointed in the lack of support here. I will not be back again.

Went in on August 25 at about 9:30 am to check on a 2 room reservation that I made. Waited for about 20 minutes as there was no one at the front desk. Other people were waiting too. Saw a cleaner and asked if she can get someone to help, but she returned and said she cannot find anyone. Another cleaner came later, asked her if she can please look for someone to assist. She started knocking on doors and after a while a guy (he must be the front desk guy) and a lady came out of a room. No apology or anything. Needless to say I canceled my 2 rooms immediately (was booked for 3 nights). I went to Holiday Inn on Parsons and they helped me immediately. I will never return to this Holiday Inn Express on Calgary Trail - don’t know how the rooms look but horrible service at front desk. Please get rid of people who do not want to do their job!!!!!

This deserves a less than one star review. We booked this hotel well in advance of our weekend stay as we live 6 hours out of town. When we arrived the hotel was going through significant renovations and never disclosed this at all through the booking process or through the check in process. These renovations included painting of the outside of the building. The first night we stayed there the ac was not working at all and our hotel room got up to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. We brought this to their attention and the maintenance personnel just pointed outside the window and explained that it was “due to the construction”. When we looked they have all of our external AC units COVERED with plastic for painting that was not removed and the hotel refused to get removed by the contractors. When we asked for compensation for this as the hotel room was UNBEARABLE the compensation was laughable. Not to mention we were told we could speak to the manager numerous times only to constantly be told they are “unavailable”. The last manager who we talked to refused to warrant their great customer service and slogan of the “perfect place to stay”. Other things we ran into: the hot tub was luke warm, my phone charger miraculously went missing (we were told if Housekeeping would have found it it would be in the lost and found, but no one has access to the lost and found except housekeeping), parking was atrocious with the renovations, etc etc etc.

Lots of construction going on stayed almost a week and didn't get much sleep. Whole hotel smells like pot and lots of drunk people drooling in the elevator. FYI they claimed that I smoked in my room and kept my 300 dollar deposit. I checked out too early to argue with rude staff and no manager available until 2 in the afternoon. Room would have to be deep cleaned but was rented out that very same night. Water is being shut off today. Continental breakfast is very good but toaster burns your toast.

Hotel service was poor, hair stuck to the walls of the showers before any one used it. Not enough towels for the family to use. Pool was completely disgusting large chunks of hair floating around, it had looked like it was not cleaned in months towels at the pool were stained. Breakfast was probably the best part. However I would not like to see the state of the kitchen if they allow guests to swim in swamp water in the pool.

We ended up having our 2 grandsons with us, and the sofa bed in the room was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and good selection, coffee was dang good, the ladies working the Breakfast area were super nice and very attentive. Things were under renovation, but nothing was very noisy where we were. Kids loved the pool area. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. Price was very good value, and the location was perfect.

The behavior of its manager Douglas leaves much to be desired. His unwillingness to accept responsibility for his hotel's actions and to make things right should give anyone pause before staying here. I would describe him as being extremely arrogant and a bully. I strongly recommend against staying at this hotel.

Long one, but there's a reason for the low rating. The rooms were nice and clean. The location is fantastic. But the service is at most 0 stars. This isn't directed to the staff. The staff were nice, understanding, and friendly. But this is directed to the manager of the place. We paid for a room and didn't get back to it till 12am. Exhausted from the long trip and the event that we attended, we just wanted to get back to the room and sleep. After getting ready for bed, my 76 year old father goes to lay down only to find out that his mattress was almost non-existent. One side stayed up, but the other side sank. It was late, and we didn't want to get dressed, pack all of our stuff up to move to another room, so he put a bunch of pillows underneath, and it was good enough for the night. In the morning, we called for a manager to show the mattress and even showed the other bed had the same issue on one side. No understanding or wanting to listen he immediately got upset and said we were at fault. When we were trying to leave, he claimed that he would take pictures and put the blame on us. We left the room with our stuff only for him to jump my dad in the hallway. Yeah, the manager of this establishment attacked a 76 year old man and then tried to claim it was him who attacked first. There is no excuse for this behavior. Something needs to be done.

They are a ripped off. $900 charged to me credit card for 2 nights. I was on the Holiday in wed site. Type in the address and book one room for 3 nights. When I arrived at the address it was the wrong hotel. The desk clerk said no problem, I will fix you up and get you a room here with your daughters team. I didn't show up for my reservation and they charge me for all three nights after not showing up the first night. In total Holiday Inn charged my Credit Card $900 and I only spent 2 nights at their hotel.

We just had a wonderful stay here for 2 nights with our 3 kiddos ages 7, 6, and 4. There were a few little odd things that could be improved upon Iike adding a water fountain to the aquatic room with the pool and hot tub, and the kitchenette should have been stocked with disposable cutlery, plates, and cups. The breakfast had a large selection, all hot and fresh each day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% stay here again. The cleaning staff, and kitchen staff are super knowledgeable and so friendly. Thank you for a wonderful stay! ❤

Excellent location, very convenient just across the bridge from airport. 2 mins drive from a huge outlet mall. Staff was extremely polite and friendly. We had a senior traveling with us who got sick. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and also extended our checkout time. Special shout out to Ms. Lovepreet for her great customer service. Will definitely come back and stay here. Thank you.

I stay here for a week at a time regularly for business. Always my first choice. The front desk people are always so cheerful and make me feel like they are truly happy to see me every time I go there. Housekeeping staff are fantastic. Love this hotel!

I just want to thank you for the services and hospitality you did for my friend who stayed overnight. From reservation to check out was fantastic experience for me. Bonus is close to bus stops if you don’t have a car.

Everything was perfect for me. I came to Edmonton for surgery and the staff was so very helpful in making sure I was comfortable. The front end staff is amazing and helped me get my taxis. I will definitely come back, hopefully not to have surgery so I can use the pool and fitness room. I gave 4 stars for location because of the bridge that makes it difficult to get around the area. You can easily walk to a restaurant or a mall. The breakfast was so good and so many choices. Again, thank you to all the staff!

We had a great staycation in this hotel. Just the last hurray before school starts again. My kids loved the pool. The room was really big, cozy, beds are comfortable with five star cleanliness. Breakfast is great too. Special thanks to the General Manager Vinu and the rest of the staff who made our stay an excellent experience.

Never been more insulted after a stay at a Hotel. Stayed Friday and Saturday night with my 19 year old son. At the end of our stay on Sunday morning as we were checking out they had to "Inspect our room first". I have stayed at many hotels for work and other personal reasons and never have they had to Inspect my room before we checked out. I will never stay at another Holiday express Inn and will recommend no one else ever does either. Most insulting customer service I have ever experienced in my life

The staff here are exceptional, and the genuine care they have for their guests radiates through this hotel. We loved the breakfast buffet, had fun and relaxed in the pool, and our room was clean and well stocked. The lady at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and very professional, and there was a really kind and helpful lady working at breakfast who saw we had our hands full and led our daughter by the hand to help her get an apple juice. We were dealing with a stressful situation while we were there and the staff here were so kind. Thank you so very much for all your help during our stay!

Stayed here on my trip to Edmonton. It’s a great hotel. Area around is pretty safe. Without getting too much into details, I was able to determine that right at check in time. The rooms were clean and comfy. The breakfast was good. I appreciated the 24/7 coffee. It’s close to South Edmonton Commons. The area itself isn’t the most friendly to pedestrians but it’s not too bad. There’s sidewalks and crosswalks at least to get to South Edmonton Commons. It’s not too far from the airport too. Its by major highways that can connect you to the downtown, WEM, and many other sight seeing areas.

Staff were nice and the place was clean. But we arrived around midnight and our room was like an oven. It was 30 below outside. The room thermostat was broken so we got switched to another room. The thermostats were all in Fareinheit and very old. We got a different room at about 1:30 am. I'd give this place two stars. Also one of the elevators was broken and it took a long time to get to different floors. Far faster to take the stairs.

Not bad; staff coulda been a bit more flexible with our hockey team, when it came to parents hanging out in the dining area, but overall it was a good experience and we would go back.

Front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. I forgot to take his name. There are big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower, not the mini stuff.

It's a normal feeling Holiday Inn but the location is terrible. You basically always have to go north over 1KM even if you want to go to the South Commons mall area which is south a few hundred meters. Only outdoor parking, no indoor/underground. Breakfast was okay normal continental breakfast nothing to be too excited about.

Rooms were decent and service was ok, however the pool is in desperate need of repair and serviced. They put some much chlorine in the pool it burns your eyes and the ventilation is horrible. The pool is slimy to touch at rhe bottom and the water looks green. I wouldn't advise to swim in the pool.

They forgot to tell me, that they have a pool. Breakfast has canned beans instead of hash browns. They have bacon, but they don't bring it out . You have to ask them for it, lol. Everywhere huge TVs in the breakfast room with "news" channels. Who wants to listen to this while having breakfast? Would be nicer to listen to some music, not?

This one is in the South area. Location is around 15 mins away from downtown or WEM but there are a lot of shops, groceries, and restaurants near so location is really really good. Quiet and out of traffic. Lobby was small, simple but clean. Parking is huge, one in front and another one at the back. Relatively safe, didn't see any suspicious characters in our 3-day stay. Breakfast as usual is really good, we usually have eggs and 1 meat product in other Holiday Inns that we have stayed, but this one has eggs, 2 meat type and beans. Refills are fast and efficient and the ladies there really asked you if you need help and you need anything. The breakfast area is also big. Pool is small but sufficient and hot tub is really hot, great at the end of the day. Covid protocols are still observed which is good. Should work on their elevators. Only one was working at that time. Hopefully, they make it faster or put another one. Great customer service from frontdesk staff especially Mary and Sajan. Appreciate their efforts. Great customer service always rules and it makes you come back and we would definitely stay here again and would recommend too.

Very warm staff and manager, the breakfast is decent, and the rooms are decent. Hot tub and pool are open late. Gym has nice new equipment. Only things to nitpick would be weak water pressure in the shower, and a slow elevator (the other was out of order) Overall a good hotel for a business trip.

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. The pillows and bed were both extremely comfortable. The room itself (furniture), was slightly outdated however, compared to other more modern looking hotels that I’ve stayed at, this room was much more comfortable. The room itself (King suite), was very spacious, it even had two TV’s. I love that they use dove products, and the product bottles are on the shower wall, meaning you could use as much as you want versus the tiny, annoying to squeeze bottles that other “fancier”, hotels have. This stay was comfortable and practical. I would definitely stay here again!

Great staff and nice room except that the bathroom doesn't have a fan so it was very humid in the room. They are pet friendly which was great for us as we were moving and needed somewhere to stay with our pet. Our daughter left her stuffed animal in the room and the front desk found it and held on to it for us to come and pick up.

We had a two nights stay recently. Reception staff was very friendly and cooperative specially the girl Alishah. Our suit was very clean and comfortable. Price was good too. We really enjoyed our stay in Edmonton. I will strongly recommend this hotel.

Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were so comfy. Breakfast in the morning was buffet style and there was lots to choose from. You won't be disappointed

The hotel is clean, breakfast was nice, staff were friendly. 2 elevators and the hot tub were out of service, and this was not advertised. This was a disappointment. Good parking.
