Millwoods Rec center is doing amazing job with cleaning and keeping patrons safe. The facility is regularly being cleaned and disinfected. The usable areas and pathways are clearly marked. The pool is open and can be accessed by picking up a time slot.

Overall, not a bad facility. It’s kind of bare-bones, but it works. Most people stick to cardio here, which leaves a plethora of free weights ready to reap. However, it is somewhat limited with the diversity equipment it provides.

My daughter and I were here about 10 minutes early before 7 when the public swim time is. They denied us entry then let 3 others family in if they only go to the hot tub. Not sure if this was discrimination or not? I was also swimming with my daughter who is a different race to me and a life guard was SCREAMING at her and asking the raced family beside me to deal with her. Just because in a different color than my child gives no reason for works to be so disgustingly rude and negligent to the fact I'm WITH MY KID. highly recommend staying clear of the staff here

Me and my family rarely go to Millwoods rec centre. Unfortunately my boy has to go there for his ranger patrol swimming class, because it is only near location for this level of swimming. On very first day within 5 min the instructor named “Naomi” kicked him out by saying that he doesn’t have previous level certificate in his hand as he has lost it before and also she was so rude and used inappropriate words to my 10 year old boy which were never acceptable. My boy came home with teary eyes and he told me that the instructor was so racist. She was more attentive to other 2 Canadian kids. I approached the program manger and she was communicating good on phone but the day we went there to speak with them she totally changed her colour and stating that the instructor is very senior and I should be careful while talking with her. But as a parent I don’t care who’s senior or junior, they must know the right approach of communication towards children and treat them equally. She was literally sarcastic and mannerless instructor who has full support from her manager. We got the certificate from meadows and showed them. We approached city of Edmonton but they just shut the topic by saying that they already spoke with instructor. This kind of solution is not very productive but I hope that the instructor will use her manners in future very well. I feel sorry for these kind of instructors who has some loose temper issues.

Took the kids to the swimming pool, they love the wave pool and the water slide. I really like the fact that there is a mandatory swim test for children to make sure they are safe to swim on their own.

Pool slide was not operational, deep tank closed. No waves when we were there. Very limited kids water toys. Nice warm waters. Kid pool was not very entertaining sorry millwoods

Everything about this rec centre is great except for its hours. Some days it's 6pm or 7pm or it could be 9pm when they close. You'll always be guessing. Most people don't finish working until 5 or 6pm. They should extend the daily hours of operation to at least 8pm if not 9.

Pool is absolutely freezing and my toddler was physically shaking to the point we had to stop participating in the class at one point. Turn up the heat please!!

Gym is big with lots of equiptment, and I appreciate the waves in the wave pool actually being strong and fun to splash around in, compared to other pools in Edmonton. Unfortunately, the public swim schedule is pretty restrictive and narrow. Renovations also need to be done on the facility itself, it's getting to be a bit dated.

I loved this place until I needed to be vaccinated to be here without a refund on my pass. They are taking everything away from us until we have to get vaccinated. If the vaccine worked we would not be in a third wave.

I like it here, it is so convenient for the local community and not too busy. The playground is good for younger children and toddlers.

This place was a blast me and my son were so excited to find out about this insane wave pool. It was even better than West Mall. We had so much fun crashing around in the waves. My only negative feedback would be. I think they need to do a renovation so that there’s not a wall blocking the hot tub from seeing the pool so the parents could have a seat in the hot tub and still see their kids in the pool, also the hot tub needs to be a lot bigger but the wave pool was fantastic

At 1 pm I could not swim, because groups with children were in the pool and were not allowed to enter. Only available from 2 pm. There is a strong smell of urine in the locker rooms. The waves in the pool are wonderful.

The wave pool is fun, but definitely needs an upgrade. I hadnt been here in 15 years and everything looks the same as it did. Need a bigger hot tub and steam room for the amount of people that go here. Ive learned not to visit on weekends as its bombarded with screaming kids in the locker rooms and pool.

The lifeguard put the waves on before class started so we could have a bit of fun

Horrible horrible place to be at. Rasism is at the highest level at this location. Rules and policies only applies to visible minorities. If you think it's bad at other places, wait until you visit this location. I would encourage anyone who has been a victim of rasism at this location to speak up. Enough is enough. Guards at the pool had no other job to do but to Jarrad us, while there were non visible minorities doing whatever they want, the focus was only on us. When we brought the topic up, they ganged up on us, brought security, and started threatened to call the police. They completely ignored the non visible minorities and what they were doing, and when we pointed it out, they acted aggressively and asked us to leave. Very very sad and disappointing.

Left my phone in the dressing room after hockey and we were the last game of the night. I was the last person to leave the room. Tried calling it multiple times from the parking lot with friends phone but no answer. Went in next morning and my phone was gone. Who ever cleaned the room after we left that night took it and clearly had no intention of returning it. Thanks, i'm already struggling financally and now I have to buy a new phone because of some piece of garbage cleaning person that stole mine.

Unlike small town arenas, the MW ice rinks have a sound system that is of poor quality inadequate for a large space. The City forget that music accompanying hockey etc is so important as an entertainment pkg. Currently, the sound system is on the fritz in both rinks. Great ice but poor sound system-not fun when you can barely hear the music.

We have only used the pool area. Nice pool great kiddie pool and the hot tub is fairly roomy. Decent water slide that drops into the deep end so no child friendly landing. Wall full of life jackets as well for the safety conscious.

Great atmosphere. The fitness center has great equipment and is never to busy. Clean change rooms and not bad rates for monthly membership.

Great facility! The pool is a good size and has waves, there's also a deeper pool with a diving board and water slide. Not overly crowded. Also free lockers!

I went swimming and it was a good experience but I had to do a swim test thing just because of my age to go down a slide, I understand the safety precautions but that's still quite stupid. I'm a very good swimmer.

The pool was small but nice, and the wave pool and slide were fun too. But the hot tub is TINY. Like, my boyfriend and I waited for 20 minutes and since other people were waiting we never got to go in. Put in a bigger hot tub or a second one please. until then I may go elsewhere for swim days.

Great facility. Older, but still better laid out than the newer Meadows. Best ice in the city. Hard and fast. Could use cameras by the bike racks because without fail, there is a stripped bike at the rack daily. Speedbumps and potholes could use some work.

Would definitely recommend. The wave pool is awesome, larger waves than the one in my home town. The waterside is great. Only issue I have is the showers are a little too hot. But very enjoyable.

NOTE: Closed Weekdays 12-4 PM, was not happy to spend my time walking here just to find this out, not posted anywhere online so yeah, there you go, saved ya a trip. Lots of cardio machines here, but the gym is tiny and does possess the essentials but leaves much to be desired, including not being 2 feet away from somebody wherever you go lol, I would hope enforcement are here regularly. Has a Sauna, Hot Tub, Smaller kid pool with warm water, a impressively long slide that leads to a diving area and a wave machine which I believe is only active on the weekends... The thing, as you can see, there are a lot of variables here and they make using this facility inconvenient, between randomly being closed during the day, bring your kids hoping to get to use the wave machine and its just lane swimming, I can see why it's sparsely used but it's still good, great even.

Local neighbourhood rec centre. I've been coming here as a teen and it's always great. The staff is kind and energetic. Highly recommend checking this rec centre out for working out, swimming, or playing squash.

Great rec centre with a well sized fitness center, massive pool with wave capability, hot tub, dive pool, waterside and diving boards. There is multiple skating rinks along with a few tennis courts. There is free accessible lockers in the pool change rooms.
