Little Venice in Colmar is very charming. One can see the mash up between two cultures 🇫🇷🇩🇪 with the food and architecture. We were reminded a bit of Rothenburg ob der Tauber with all the buildings surrounding the area. A must stop on the way to bigger cities nearby. Highly recommended.

Arguably the prettiest area of Colmar, Little Venice is as it’s name suggests, quite little! It’s easily discovered on foot though and a lovely spot for lunch or a boat ride if you are willing to duck under the bridge arches. Well worth a quick visit if only for some gorgeous photos ;)

If Strasbourg have La Petite France, Colmar have La Petite Venise. Both of places are beautiful but my personal opinion is that La Petite Venise was better. Because this place gave me the mood of The Beauty and The Beast. I thought that I could meet the Belle in here. This place is small place but give you big amuse. Please walk this area on your own feet.

Walking around la petite Venice is like walking into fairyland. With cute Timber-wood and colourful houses all around. We visited twice once in Christmas and once around Jan 1st week. It has a different charm. Highly recommend a boat ride

A picturesque and charming neighbourhood that is definitely worth a visit. It’s situated in the old town along the canal that runs through the heart of Colmar. The small colourful houses, with their half timbered facades and flower-filled balconies, line the canal and create a delightful scene. The canal is dotted with small boats that can be rented and there are several bridges that offer great views of the area. Overall it is a must-see destination in Colmar offering it’s unique beauty and charm.

La Petite Venise in Colmar is a charming place. It's like a tiny Venice with colorful houses by the water. You can take a boat ride and enjoy the lovely views. The area has cozy restaurants where you can taste delicious French food. It's a great spot for a leisurely walk, especially in the evening when the lights reflect in the water. La Petite Venise is a picturesque place, perfect for romantic moments and enjoying the beauty of Colmar. If you're in town, don't miss this little piece of Venice in France.

I visited Colmar in an early morning and the town was sleeping under the fog. The village was too peaceful and silent to be waken up. I was impressed by the architecture of houses here as if I was lost in the fairy tales or wonderland where everything was poetic and magical. People here are friendly. They have a market where I had a cup of coffee with a biscuit, also a flea market with many vegetables, and products from merchants.

This place is indeed a magical fairytale place. It feels like you are being transported to a different era. A must visit when in Colmar. Just one thing go remember, google has this pinned to only one size of city. For the other side, you need to go to Quai de la Poissonnerie.

Definitely make sure you stop here! Beautiful little town and lots of interesting spots. Word of advise though, reserve a table to eat in advance. We went to 99% of the restaurants in the evening for something to eat and they were all fully booked. Finally found a open table on the outskirts of the old city.

What a wonderful day#35 #อิโตอินเลิฟ #ItoInLove :=) little Venice of Colmar in France! Here is a La Petite Venise, or the other name is the “Little Venice” of France. The colourful houses and lush vegetation that line the river gives Colmar the resemblance to Venice. You can also hop on a gondola and cruise through the river, as though you’re on Venice’s signature waterway. He he But i did not do that.. I just grab a beer and walking and enjoying the peaceful view.

We went in the evening and it was very relaxing with no big crowds. Sunlight at this time of day is perfect for capturing beautiful photos of the colourful half wooden houses. And then to choose one of the many places to eat! All types of food on offer with a great vibe all around. Our taxi dropped us right at the famous bridge, which was perfect!

Le Petite Venise in Colmar, France, offers an idyllic charm straight out of a fairy tale. Its picturesque half-timbered houses, canals, and floral displays are postcard-perfect. The old-world charm combined with modern comfort creates a unique experience for the visitors. Boating through the canal offers a serene and charming view of the pastel-colored houses and flower-adorned bridges. The local restaurants offer delicious traditional Alsace cuisine, providing a delightful culinary experience. The area might get a little crowded during peak seasons, but the beauty and tranquility of this place make the visit worthwhile.

This is a beautiful place, full of old buildings. If you visit Alsace, you must see Le Petite Venice. Just take a walk, try the beers/wines and taste some french food.

This is what makes Colmar the cutest place ever! You can get a boat along the river and see “Venise” in all angles. If you’re visiting Basel, you should also visit Colmar which is 43 mins direct by train, and it’s a short walk (10 mins) from Colmar station to the centre. If it’s this pretty during the day, imagine what it’s like at night when the lights come on.

One of the most picturesque canal cities. Definetely less crowded than Strasbourg, which is a bonus. You can walk alongside the canal and find lots of good coffee and food places. Ample parking spaces with affordable charges, as close as 5 mins walk from the main centre. We visited on a weekend and still found a parking space (for €3) and click some good pictures (without people in the background!). One thing to be wary of, there are so many options for coffee and food, but don't go just by their online ratings.

Colmar is a French city: physically and culturally on the border of Germany and Switzerland. The city itself is charming with small traditional houses in a palette of pretty rainbow shades, floral arrangements, flower beds, and the canal that runs through the historic centre of the city. Walk the cobbled streets and pass in front of the city's picturesque half-timbered houses until you find the canal and the Little Venice district. It is said that this canal gave this part of the city the nickname of "little Venice".

Don’t miss this beautiful place with the typical Alsacian houses and small canals built by the Prussians when they took Alsace from France after their victory in 1870 over Napoleon III. Take also the tourist little train which will show you the historical center for a little fee. A magical site! 👍

There is not much to say about this place, everybody knows, you must visit it if you travel to Strasbourg. It has a natural beauty and travels you to another time, of course if you visit it in Christmas you will be able to try the local wine and other specialties that the locals have to other, also at this period a lot of people visit Colmar so you should prepare yourself and be ready to a very crowded roads and walks.

Let me say it's a beautiful city... The Little Venice is not at all Venice, but it'still interesting! Every house or building here has own stile and the important thing is it is not over coloured, somebody have been thinking how to manage to look so wonderful! If I have chance to come back,be sure I will...

A most amazing place.. Simply charming atmosphere and a stunning view.. A big drawback for the restaurants in the area.. A critical problem is that there are almost no toilets in the place... You have to walk more than 15 minutes to get to one.. The parking issue is also problematic.. But I highly recommend visiting..

Lovely historic town with narrow cobble streets etc , however we visited on a Monday in November and nearly everything was shut

Wonderful location for a walk around the quaint streets, with its stunning architecture and colourful buildings. With lovely tourist shops and good restaurants and cafes. If you have more time, we would recommend visiting one of the Michelin restaurants.

Filled with many half timber buildings and every alley way has its own charm. There are many photo opportunities as you walk through this part of Colmar. Cafes and restaurants are everywhere. Worth it to just stop for a drink and watch the world go by.

Absolutely beautiful even thou we went in winter. I am confident spring and summer would be even better. Nice to just walk around and surrounded by small cafés, restaurants and cute buildings. The covered marked is also nearby, interesting to see and buy some local products.

A small river runs through Colmar that you can traverse with a gondels looking boat. The houses surrounding the river have beautiful beams of wood and are in various different colours. It is the main attraction for many tourists. Along the route there are fountains, restaurants, shops for tourists and a market.

Colmar is definitely well worth a visit. The old centre, with its 15th Century buildings, is really beautiful. There are plenty of artisan food shops and restaurants to explore, too.

Loved our visit here, the canals are full of fish. You can rent a gondola for 7 euros per person. Gondola ride is around 25mins round trip. Architecture of buildings here Is breathtaking. Full of history, highly recommend folks to visit Colmar.

Colmar is by far one of our top favorite cities in France. It is so cute and all the shop owners and restaurants are happy to see you. Full of charm and a complete gem. A must see!

Gorgeous area of town, lovely architecture around, gorgeous buildings, and overall a nice feeling. Went during summer, it’s was very hot, I recommend to go either in the morning or in the evening when there is less people.

Very picturesque & beautiful. True to its name, lovely canal with multiple bridges & absolutely stunning flowers lined across the side. Must Visit ! ❤ However, be prepared for long waiting due to large crowds for the boatride

Very nice spot. Called little Venice for a reason. Lovely houses near the water. And a possibility to take a boat tour. I just went here for the view and some drinks. Which was nice.

Absolutely beautiful little town. My family and I walked around the entire day, and loved everything about this place. Best way that I can describe this place is like something out of a movie. Wonderful place to visit!!!

Lovely place, the pictures don't lie. Just walk through the charming alleys with those flowered balconies, good atmosphere.. If you are visiting the Black forest area, it is a stop I really recommend you to do.

A wonderful place, the atmosphere of which cannot be captured by any photo or film. You have to come here and take a walk between the historic houses among the flowers by the canal. Until the end of my life I would regret that I do not live here because I would be in this place every day. Absolute TOP!

  • 5/5 Jacob G. 2 years ago on Google
Such a beautiful place to explore! The street here is beautiful for a walk or some food to eat. There are some nice ice cream shops. The water is magnificent. So beautifully adorned with foliage and birds. I recommend coming here for a date. Also a great spot to take photos that really pop.
