Not your average zoo... It takes some time to grow accustomed to the park's core concepts of sustainably bringing humans closer to nature and the animals within it (with this in mind, you'll also not find many rare and exotic animals at this zoo, but rather ones that you might encounter in nature yourself as well). The use of natural materials in the construction of enclosures, for example, leads both to natural looking barriers and charming, decorative wood cabins (spaced out around the park as observation huts), as well as some dilapidated looking constructions. Likewise, the general lack of landscaping in the park makes certain parts look unkempt or neglected (like the path leading from the main entrance past the donkeys to the start of the adventure trail), whereas in other parts, such as the forested green path, it works towards an immersive experience that makes you believe you're actually out in nature (if not for being pulled out of this immersion by the presence of wire-mesh cages and tree huts). The downside of this, however, is that spaces feel way less open and much more cramped than in a typical zoo. This stands in stark contrast to the large open spaces that form the animal enclosures. This doesn't mean, however, that it's easy to spot the animals, as the many hiding places in the enclosures mean that the animals are often in hiding or located far off in the distance (certain animals can even only be seen if one takes a ride on the train the park offers!): I'd therefore recommend attending as many of the frequent (but somewhat hard to find) shows as possible, taking some binoculars and spending some calm and quiet time at each enclosure to view the animals. As this can be very trying for young children, the park offers a great playground (next to the main entrance) and a fun petting zoo with a tractor and "milkable" cows. The best way to visit the park, however, is to book an overnight stay. We spent the night at the deer meadow. This will get you a small and simple wooden house with a comfortable bed, kitchenette with mini-fridge and microwave, bathroom with shower (with wooden floor) and dry/composting toilet. And while I'm generally not a big fan of the latter, the way the park implemented them certainly makes them the best (and cleanest) I've had the experience of using: a separate bag, freshly installed for your visit, collects the waste inside the toilet, while a sprinkling of sawdust after use prevents any unpleasant odors from escaping. A similar concern with sustainability and the environment can also be seen in the kitchen, where garbage is sorted in four different categories. Depending on your preference, dinner is served in either restaurant or brought to your room for you to heat up using the microwave (although, unfortunately, there's no easy way of doing dishes as a drying rack and even a mixing tap for warm - but not scolding hot - water are missing), leading to an overall pleasant stay. However, what makes an overnight stay worthwhile, above all else, is the spacious balcony overlooking the deer meadow, giving you first row seats to animal feedings at sunset and dawn. Be prepared to get up early to witness this spectacle (in fact, there are no curtains, so you'll naturally awaken as the sun comes up), but there's nothing that can quite compare to seeing a majestic stag slowly walking through the rolling morning mist while the sky, starting off bright pink, takes on an increasingly blue colour, birds waking up and flying across the meadow, with wolves howling in the distance. Overall, we had a unique experience in the park, that I can highly recommend. However, the main value of this experience derives from the overnight stay and taking the time to enjoy the view from our room. I think that if we were to have visited the park as a regular day's outing, our experience would've been less worthwhile.

(Translated by Google) Very nice park and great accommodation. We were in the hamlet of wolves, simply beautiful. Food served in small baskets at the entrance to the accommodation .. nothing to say. And the animators really on top. Simply magical ... (Original) Très beau parc et super logement. Quite expensive zoo for what it offers. Attractions for kids including lot of animals- but access not design to be small kids friendly. So kids from 1,5m can enjoy, those with liver height must either not enter or have parents who will carry them. Service quite busy and not user friendly. All of those could be changed - so will will visit it once again in future. Maybe it will be better, as it has potential!

I can't say enough about this zoo in a forest. My absolute favorite thing to do was the parcour course and walking on glass and rocks with bare feet. How much closer to nature can you get! The animals were just stunning.

Stayed in the Amarok lodging with the Arctic (white) wolves. The wolves were very active in the cool January weather and we saw them very frequently and they weren't shy about being near the lodges. We walked around other parts of the park as well. It looks like it is a phase of expansion as there was a large new children's play structure being built, an insect building being built among others. The lodge we stayed in looked brand new and apparently was just finished (or refinished 2 months prior). It was beautiful, comfortable and larger than expected. The food was very good. As for criticisms... Some of the older parts of the park could use a bit of paint or just a bit of love. They weren't horrible but a bit neglected. Also, I drove a Tesla and informed them prior to arrival that I would need a charging space. They confirmed this for me. Upon arrival they said someone was blocking the charger they had reserved for me and they couldn't find the owner. I charged the day of departure but even then there was a non-EV parked blocking a charging spot and it was there early in the morning and still there when we exited to leave in the afternoon. Staff need to be more strict and structured around this. Place a warning sign by the EV chargers and call a tow truck if people don't comply. Over half of the parking spots were empty, there was no excuse for this behaviour. Also, tracking which car belongs to which guest and having a method of contacting them to remove their car once charged would be really smart (or proving 4 hours charging blocks of time or something).

Large terrain, with beautiful views. Animals have the opportunity to hide themselves: great for them, but sometimes slightly annoying for us :) The safari trainride (1 hour) is worth it. Entrance fee and food is quite expensive compared to other zoo's. Parking is free.

Large wildlifepark, the blue area is the largest but least interesting. Overall nicely build, lots of space for the animals (downside is that you miss a lot of them). Tickets are quite expensive, drinks and food also.

Schweineteuer! Aufgepasst!

Amazing parc with wonderful staff and facilities. We stayed in the parc in a clean and new cabin overlooking the expansive meadow full of caribou and different types of deer. The highlight was the bear habitat. This is a completely different type of experience from a traditional zoo where animals are confined in concrete enclosures. Here there are large lakes and acreage for freedom of movement. The animals here look content and behave as though they are completely at home. The lakes provide for an extensive array of local water fowl which adds immensely to the natural affect. For children, this is a hands-on experience. Many of the exhibits bring them close to the animals and engage all their senses. I've never seen so many little kids smiling in unison. We were also extremely impressed with the food service. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were perfectly prepared and accompanied with local beers and wines. Breakfast was delivered to our cabin and we sat on the large cabin deck watching the animals graze as we did the same.

This is truly a magical place to spend the day ... And the "guides" are extremely friendly, funny and interesting when presenting the various species to the public. I totally recommend that you start the day by taking the new "train ride" which trundles you around the Park with a guided commentary, and which will in particular allow you to access parts of the Animal Reserve which you cannot see on your own when visiting on foot. Fantastic for families, but not only ! 100% recommended :-)

The parc is fine but the personnel tended to serve people very slowly. Bring your own picnic if you don't want to spend an hour waiting for your food. Also queue early for the souvenir shop because that will also take forever.

Beautiful parc with large enclosures and open spaces for the animals. Only the birds were in a more confined space but not terrible small. There are good helpful signs for the route. The only downside I have experienced was that not all signs are translated to English or German but I have the idea that that is a work in progress

Which took us until 7pm. And then will you ask me? well on our terrace as the trees are not pruned, you have to kneel down to admire the deer !!! At 9 pm, as night falls, nothing more to see !!! the meal, covid measure, trays served in the lodge, very low quality and quantity !!!! For a memorable stay, yes it is, considering the price !!!!! In addition to having the pass, synonymous with loyalty, well in this park nothing not even the ride in the little train is offered! scandal!!! Starting from a good concept protecting animals good idea to start with, unfortunately the money takes over and as proof the park has an annual closure, the lodges no !!!! This year we will not be taking back our pass !!!! (Translated by Google) This park is really beautiful, the animals are well treated and pampered by the caretakers. Having visited it during various seasons, for me the best remains that of autumn for the colors of the landscape and the season of the deer slab. Truly majestic. Small flat for the snack and sweets side, in various places of the park, there are few proposals and the quality of the content is really poor or not very existing. Ditto for the candy side, I ordered a chocolate waffle, it was a waffle in a bag warmed in the microwave with ultra sweet industrial liquid chocolate applied to it. It was unfortunately inedible. ☹️ Considering the price charged for catering, I think it would be good to review either the quality of the products offered or the price of these. For the lodge side, unfortunately I have not yet had the opportunity to test, but a night with the black wolves would please me in the near future. ☺️

(Translated by Google) We spent two days at the Park, one night in the Ours Noir lodge. It was a truly amazing experience. The Park is undertaking a real ecological approach, with significant awareness-raising, the use of sustainable materials, selective sorting, local / organic products, renewable energies, etc. Animal welfare seems to be one of the priorities of the Park, as announced, with large enclosures with enrichments, which copy the ecosystems of origin of the species, healers / animators who know their animals well and raise awareness of the threats affecting them. Didactic and educational courses on biodiversity and species and all anthropogenic dangers. We were able to see magnificent scenes of games in the water between the bears or the howls of wolves, as in their natural environment, far from standard zoos. However, some species, less emblematic, do not benefit from these advantages and more particularly the birds which are in unsuitable cages and aviaries, very small, without having possibilities of hiding places, in particular the Capercaillie, owls, owls, crows and magpies. etc. It is all the same very sad to see, while all the recreated ecosystems already allow us to see many free wild birds that come to the site for its ponds and its conserved biodiversity. Ditto for insects for example. It would be better to promote their installation on the site, in a free way. Other enclosures seem quite small as for the wild cat, epic pigs and red pandas. Some animals are stereotyped (bear, epic pig), but the healer reassured us by explaining that it came from their old zoo (moved only a few months ago). Overall a very nice experience where we saw a lot of animals flourishing in their environment but which could be improved!
