It was so nice to see this indoor market that is gradually disappearing again. I went during the Christmas market season, of course it was crowded with people. It was informed that it was only open until 2 o'clock on Sunday, so I arrived in a hurry, but it was open until very late. The people were friendly and the food was delicious👍🏻

Great market hall where you can buy delicious cheeses from the area, fresh bread, spices, vegetables and fruits. There are also tables by the water where you can enjoy your morning coffee.

I would say this is a must visit in Colmar and an example of how a Produce Shop should look. The building looks really nice, a combination of stone walls, cast iron pillars and arcades and wooden stalls inside. The locals buy their vegetables, fish, meat and dairy products here, and there are also some bars where you can enjoy a tarte flambee or quiche with a good wine.

This market has all you need. It was my first time in France and this was an amazing place to get all of the traditional French dishes. Everything tasted delicious! Truly satisfied. Thanks for the memories :))

Marché Couvert Colmar is a charming indoor market in Colmar, France. This quaint marketplace is a food lover's paradise, offering a delightful array of fresh produce, cheeses, meats, and regional specialties. Strolling through its stalls, you'll be captivated by the vibrant colors and delicious aromas. It's a perfect place to sample local delicacies or pick up ingredients for a picnic. The friendly vendors add to the warm atmosphere. Whether you're a foodie or simply seeking an authentic taste of Colmar, a visit to Marché Couvert is a delightful experience. Note that dogs aren't allowed inside. There is also a restaurant that you can have a sit down meal in which is on a platform over the river which is a must do.

This is an indoor market. 3 star due to no trashcans inside the market. We had to go outside for the trash can. They have variety of food options. It is nice and clean inside. There were no staff available to help, only venders.

Not much choice, high prices but still not prepared for tourists.. no one can really speak anything else than french which still wouldn't be a problem if they won't get so stressed to act out of it in a very rude way! Terrace not worth the wait for sure.. there is better food and nicer places for sure !

One of my favorite places in Colmar. Open 6 days a week closed on Monday. Special treat to eat outside along the canal.

I don't know the name of the shop but the charcuterie in one of the corners of the market has a fabulous meat pie, the best we've ever had. Price is per kilo, and you'll be surprised how many people you can feed with just one pie, so it's actually excellent value in addition to being absolutely delicious.

An indoor market. I went there on weekend and nothing looks special. Some shops were also closed.

Visited on Feb 2023. I always love market and enjoyed walking around the area. So many food stalls it actually confusing which one to try. Very clean, very beautiful and lively. It closes on mondays and tuesdays. I think on the weekends, the market actually extended to the outside of the buildings with several food trucks and street vendors selling fresh vegetables and home-made products to cell phone screenguard nearby the buildings.

Be careful with your personal belongings. I have been stolen my bag with my cellphone, Id card, credit card. No policeman controlling the place

A nice little market with a lot of variety. We ended up picking the Vietnamese stall. Good egg roll snack 👌

Nice place to visit. Prices are high a lot of hand made products. Quite crowded. One toilet inside with a huge waiting line for ladies.

  • 2/5 Guillaume P. 1 year ago on Google
Do not buy anything from this store. The lady is outrageously rude for no reason. Otherwise, the market is pretty nice with good local products.

Inaugurated in 1865, this hall is the work of the architect Louis-Michel Boltz, who also designed the municipal theater of Colmar (1849). A veritable island, the covered market is surrounded by three streets and the Lauch, which allowed market gardeners to bring their products directly in flat-bottomed boats. The choice of materials used: bricks, iron and cast iron, bears witness to Colmar's transition to the industrial era. Since its restoration in 2010, the indoor market in Colmar once again hosts a permanent market, supplemented by stands outside every Thursday.

No, I say, be careful and open your eyes, prices too high, for tourists and unfriendly service. Today my husband and I at 15.30 / 16 we take a small gratin and two bottled drinks and pay € 14.5 !!!! We sit at the table, like other people and an extremely rude woman tells us to go out, because according to her the table time was over and our gratin was to be considered a take away. There are no signs and the rudeness of those who manage it was absurd, especially since it is a market! Ah, toilet are pure rubbish, ....

Near the Old Town, this Market Hall is an ideal stop for anyone who prefers an uncomplicated lunch and doesn't feel like reserving a table in a restaurant. When the weather is nice, there is an opportunity to enjoy the meal outside.

We came 30 minutes before closing on a Sunday afternoon and loved it despite several places being closed. Adorable little market (took 5 minutes to walk around in the one circle even looking at each stand) and there’s seating indoors and outdoors if you buy food and want to eat there, as well as a restaurant with outdoor seating ON the canal on a dock. Fresh produce, bakeries, souvenirs, bar, and what looked to be a great cafe. We were so glad to have gotten here before it closed, and highly recommend!

This market is more than just the covered like the name says, because it also occupies few more streets around it, with many stalls in the open. The covered part is pretty big with stalls of local producers of various goods - cheese, flowers, meat, fruit and vegetables,... Also there're several pubs and bistros serving tart flambee and other local specialities.

This feels as it was built for tourists. The market itself is tiny and it has very selective stalls in it. The buildingwas built in 1865. Due to its position on the banks of the Lauch, market gardeners could dock at the foot of the building. Since September 2010, work has been carried out to restore the building to its original purpose and contains some lovely streetart murals.

It's a nice market to visit once you're in Colmar. There are quite a number of shops with sausages, cheese, fresh fruits, spices and also restaurants you can even sit down outside by the water. It's definitely worth dropping by.
