There’s no amount of pictures that can do justice to this beautiful village. It’s beautiful. Make sure you are aware of the local laws and respect the Faroese people’s privacy.

The whole town of Gjogv is charming and quaint. This gorge is sitting right here, and is picturesque. There is parking and public toilets nearby. There is a short little hike up the side of the cliff. It started to rain for us, so we opted not to!

It's a beautiful village that it's worth a visit. The road it's steep down an amazing valley. Another sight that I guess only the Faroé can bring it to you... Take your time and enjoy the "ride"!

Water is super clear with kelps floating around, a natural swimming pool. Village was pretty empty. Beautiful but the only cons is that there’s no tourist places to hangout for coffee, change after swim etc.

Very pretty views all around. Extra plus for the Puffins that dot the area. You can do a hike up the hill (at a fee) but we only went up the first part to get a good overview. Absolutely beautiful though.

Beautiful natural harbour. It is said that it was used by Vikings to get a shore on the rough cliffs of Faroe Islands. Those that were sea sick stayed. The rest continued to Island and Greenland. The whole area of Gjógv is amazing and definitely a "must see" on at trip to The Faroe Islands. Just the drive there is worth the trouble. There's also a nice trail up the cliff with a beautiful view over Gjógv valley on one side, and on the other side, you see the famous Island where a scene from a James Bond movie has been shot. It it possible ti drive all the way to the beginning of the trail. There's a small parking lot and public bathrooms with benches on the roof. There's a fee for walking up. It goes to food and shelter for the Volunteers that comes once a year to maintain the trail. Lately they build a nice wooden staircase that takes you all the way up to the ridge. From here you can walk along the ridge and enjoy the view all the way up. Going down is less protected but not difficult - just a bit steep.

I got there in a very rainy day. Yet the sights and the feeling of that tiny village is more than cosy to warm you form the inside. The obvious spot is the 200m natural gorge, which gives the name to the town and served as a natural harbor. The color of the water is so stunning that it makes you want jump into it in spite the very low temperatures. There is also a bench that is famous as it was put there for princess Mary, who happened to come to the ceremony. There is a very neat cafeteria where you can have a coffee. And also there is a very nice hike up to the mountain to get cool panoramic views which I could not make as the day was really tough with strong wind gusts.

Well worth the drive. Recommend doing a circular route so as not to miss the "Giant and the Witch". Great spot for seeing puffins!

Best picture spot with gorge in the middle and the cliffs on either side. Road to Gjógv is very beautiful too. You can notice birds nesting on this cliff if you walk towards the scenic point on the right side of the car park. There is small hike along the path shown as Nasin on the google maps. It seems like an easy hike as there are steps and clear path however didn’t complete it due to rain

If it wasn’t so cold, I could have stayed and watched the wave all day. It was mesmerizing. And the color of the waves was simply spectacular!

The harbour is beautiful and there's two little walks on either side of the water. You have lots of places to explore. There's tons of seagulls and puffins in the cliffs of the harbour which you can hike up to get a better view of. Free puffin sightings!

Beautiful village located on the northeast tip of the island of Eysturoy. The village was named after a 200m long sea-filled gorge that runs north to the sea from the village. There is also a great hiking that starts from there.

Natural harbor. The colors of the ocean in the warm evening sun, in contrast to the ubiquitous green are magical. I already know where the azure blue came from. 🙃

Quiet, nice place in this gorge (which is the Faroese name of this place) village. 69 steps down to water. You can see the Kallur Lighthouse just across on Kalsoy.

As the Gjógv means gorge in faroese, this placenis really GORGEous. You can see waves being thrown against steep rocks. Very beautiful.

Beautiful site in picturesque little town. Suitable for longer sit-down to enjoy the view and to try to keep up with the puffins, turns and gulls. Weather-permitting of course...

100% worth visiting. The village itself is as charming as it gets. Picturesque wherever you look. There's a car park and public toilet available. The gorge is a stunning marvel you can see from the sea level or the path above.
