Central Museum of the Algerian Army in Riad El Fath (Algeria). It contains a group of pictures of martyrs in their prime, whether men or women. One of the most famous images is a picture of a young woman, symbolizing the strength of the Algerian girl, Djamila Bouazza. As for Algeria after independence, we find in it some personal items belonging to the late President Houari Boumediene, such as some neckties like the ones he wore in his famous speech at the United Nations, his suits, and his own car, the Citroën DS. There are also some monuments of the period of Emir Abdelkader. There are objects from the Numidian period as well.

(Translated by Google) The Central Museum of the Algerian Army in Riyadh Al-Fateh (Algeria). It contains a group of pictures of young martyrs, whether men or women. Among the most famous images is the image of a young woman symbolizing strength, the Algerian girl, Djamila Bouazza. The exhibits of the Central Museum are classified according to a historical chronology, extending from prehistoric times to the contemporary era, and the museum’s unique exhibits are distributed across its spaces according to chronology, namely: prehistoric, ancient, Islamic, modern and contemporary times. The beginning of our historical tour was with the prehistoric era, for which a pavilion was allocated that contained archaeological samples dating back 3 million years to 2000 years before history. Through those samples, the various industrial patterns known to the Algerian people in prehistoric times are clear. Stone tools that date to the Lower Paleolithic Age, and they belong to the Assyrian civilization, and among those tools we find what is known as the Beipas and the Balayat ... then we will reach the traces of the Middle Stone Age, which are the tools that belong to the inhabitants of the Mosturian civilization and the Aterian civilization. With regard to the late Paleolithic period, the museum displays some tools that reflect the development of the Neolithic man, where beautiful and delicate polished tools can be viewed, including some arrowheads, scrapers and sharp fragments in the form of knives. In the same wing, the visitor stands in front of a geo-historical map bearing the most important features of the unified Numidian civilization in the ancient era, that civilization that was established between 23 AD to 152 AD and which was divided into two parts, the eastern one, which was known as a Masalian kingdom and its capital, Sirta, which was ruled by King Massinisa. As for the western part, it included the Kingdom of Mazseeliya, its capital, Siqa, which is now Ain Temouchent. It was headed by Sivax. In this wing there are also sculptures of the various kings of Numidia in the form of complete statues and other busts and struck on coins, including Jugurtha, Massinissa and Sivax, in addition to oil paintings of the most important battles that Jugrata waged on the Roman camp. Perhaps the most important wing of the museum is that dedicated to the Islamic era, where the geological map attracts the visitor’s attention, which was specially designed to bear all the stages of the Islamic conquest in the Maghreb region, starting from the first conquests of Uqba bin Nafi in the year 670 AD to the conquests of Musa bin Nasir between 704 and 711 and supported this map With bodies and statues of the founders of the Islamic countries in Algeria, which are respectively: the Rustamid state, which was the first Islamic state established in Algeria by Abd al-Rahman ibn Rostum, and its capital was Tehret, followed by the Zirid state. To Algeria, and it lasted 86 years, bringing the wanderer in the space of Islamic civilization to the reef of the monotheist state and its founder, Abd al-Mu'min bin Ali, who united the Moroccan south politically after the demise of Almohadism in Algeria and the Zirid state in Algeria, which allowed the Almohad state to become the most important political force in the sea basin The Mediterranean and North Africa, and its capital was Tlemcen, and it extended between the town of Saida in the east to the Wadi Moulouya in the west. In the same context, the museum displays examples of the flags of successive countries, in addition to the weapons of the Islamic era, the sword, shield, white, bow, spear, spears, catapults ... and some Islamic weapons that distinguished the Maghreb warrior from other Muslim warriors. I've passed through that great museum at the capital Algiers, it contains a lot of interesting things about Algeria history. I do recommend to visit it to be enlightened about Algeria from the first time of history until our earlier periods.

Informative Museum run by very polite soldiers. The exhibit re the liberation war against France had some very interesting information I had not seen elsewhere. But you aren’t allowed to take photos of the exhibits so you have to take notes if you want to follow up any details. Loosening that restriction would be good.

The best museum I’ve ever been too globally. You really get a feel about the past war. There are full scale models and they even have presented real items from the time of war like part of a helicopter, an actual guillotine and army backpacks. Just a shame no pictures/videos allowed. As someone who doesn’t read Arabic or French, I wish there was English description too. Entry is very cheap, almost free.

This is a fabulous museum detailing the history of Algeria. It is not so much about the army as it is the struggles for independence over time. The expansive exhibits covering two floors are well thought out, well signed in English and Arabic and expressive of the history. The models of old cities and battles help put things in perspective and help to visualize the descriptions. The art depicting the people, history, struggles and suffering are moving and provide their own descriptions. If you want to learn about, or enhance your knowledge of, Algerian history and the fight for independence, this is the place to go.

(Translated by Google) Good place retracing the history of Algeria since prehistoric times. My children were very interested. For a good visit, it takes less than 3 hours. Entry at a price involves 20 DA. Photos are not allowed inside. I was even questioned by an agent believing I was photographing with my smartphone and I had to prove to him the opposite by showing him the last photos taken. I do not understand the concern they have with the photos. While at the Louvre it is authorized. Otherwise it was good.

(Translated by Google) Very nice museum with so many pieces of our history from prehistory to independence. There is a truck that transported those sentenced to death, touching it will give you chills! Lovers of the late leader Boumedienne, there are several personal items including his car. Go there and travel back in time ❤️ (Original) Très beau musée avec tellement de pièces de notre histoire de la préhistoire à l’indépendance. Great museum with a lot of historia of Algeria from BC to present. Only one disappointment is that no images are allowed which does not make any sense.

The army museum is made up of 3 floors with several annexes exhibiting different periods of the Algerian nation + 2 additional floors reserved for the national armed forces. The visit can take several hours, it is a complete history and geography course, I recommend it to children and adults too.

Very beautiful and fascinating museum full of artefacts and reconstructions of Algeria's past. However, I have two criticisms to do: first of al regarding the ban on taking photos which I find rather stupid and annoying for those who want to keep some souvenir images. Second of all the plates are written only in Arab and sometimes in French and/or English; I think that this is wrong for two reasons which are that English is necessary as is the international language and everyone should understand that and in second place it should be written also in Amazigh as Algeria has that language (primary) too.

Entrance fee is almost free. This museum has so much to offer, filled to the brim with grand paintings of war and miniature reconstructions of ancient forts and cities. It is new and has a luxurious look. Cons are that it could be more touristically developed, as per today you cannot go through it all without knowing arabic. Photographies are also not allowed.

A very nice museum depicting the history of Algeria. It’s unfortunate that most of the information is either written in French or Arabic, but nonetheless this is a really interesting museum. Definitely worth visiting if you’re interested in learning more about the history of Algeria. Ticket prices are also very cheap.

(Translated by Google) It was too good, from the reception to the exit, in terms of the atmosphere of the staff to whom I thank the professionalism and the kindness, as always, so I have good memories of my childhood, Yes it's been over 20 years old, especially with the children you need a dose of patriotism, I liked the souvenir shop, which is new, so I highly recommend a visit, just for the memory of the good times 80 & 90.
