Our
experience
here
was
TERRIBLE
back
in
may
of
2022.
My
one
year
old
at
the
time
was
having
a
really
hard
time
breathing,
the
triage
nurse
was
good
canât
complaint
she
assessed
my
son
along
with
the
tech
and
took
us
to
a
room
right
away,
thats
when
eveything
changed.
They
assigned
my
son
to
a
nurse
that
in
my
opinion
did
not
have
any
pediatric
experience.
I
will
never
forget
her
name
and
even
though
she
didnt
work
for
the
hospital
(contract
nurse
âLorenaâ)
she
made
our
time
in
the
ER
a
living
hell.
The
dr
cane
in
within
10
minutes
of
us
getting
a
room
he
saw
my
son
and
immediately
ordered
a
respiratory
treatment
for
my
son.
RT
came
in
and
gave
it
to
him.
He
walked
in
with
the
nurse
and
since
my
son
was
really
congested
asked
to
bring
suctiong
tools
to
suction.
Well
she
came
back
with
a
bulb
and
the
doctor
then
explained
to
her
she
needed
the
suction
tubing
for
the
wall.
That
should
have
been
my
red
flag
to
request
a
new
nurse.
She
didnât
know
how
to
suction
my
son
my
husband
(RN)
who
was
there
at
the
time
did
it
for
her.
After
being
suctioned
my
son
was
still
struggling
to
breath
and
he
was
put
on
O2.
About
10
min
after
the
RT
came
since
dr
had
order
for
my
son
to
be
deep
suction
which
kinda
failed
because
he
threw
up
she
walked
out
and
forgot
to
put
my
son
on
the
oxygen.
By
then
the
nurse
had
already
swab
him
for
covid,
flu
etc..
I
kept
seeing
my
son
still
struggling
to
breathand
when
i
checked
the
monitor
is
oxygen
level
was
at
78.
I
of
course
freaked
out
and
put
him
on
5
liter
which
was
what
he
was
on
and
slowly
saw
his
saturations
go
up.
Lorena
came
in
to
start
IV
and
unfortunately
my
son
was
dehydrated
and
had
very
bad
veins.
He
was
poked
4
times
before
calling
ICU
nurse
Verlin
and
was
successful
on
the
first
try.
After
that
she
never
came
back.
I
called
to
speak
to
her
because
my
son
was
just
declining
and
took
her
an
hour
to
come.
Now
I
know
the
ER
can
grt
hectic
but
she
could
have
sent
the
charge
or
someone
else
to
chevk
up
on
my
son.
Even
AOD
came
in
to
ask
if
we
were
doing
okay
and
i
said
bo
my
son
is
getting
worse
and
bo
ne
has
been
by.
She
said
let
me
get
someone
to
help
you
but
again
no
one
came
in.
Several
hrs
passed
and
at
around
5
a
nurse
came
in
he
introduced
himself
and
said
he
was
going
to
get
a
rectal
temp
ti
check
my
sons
fevers.
I
was
so
confused
ehen
he
said
âfor
his
feversâ
because
my
son
was
not
running
a
fever
at
all.
He
looked
so
embarrassed
when
i
told
him
and
went
to
aske
her
only
to
come
back
to
say
that
they
neede
a
more
accurated
one
since
he
had
rhino/
bronchilitis.
The
nurse
finally
showed
up
at
almost
shift
change
to
let
us
know
that
my
son
was
going
to
be
admitted
and
rhat
they
were
just
waiting
for
the
room
to
be
ready.
My
husband
then
asked
if
he
could
speak
to
the
doctor.
A
new
doctor
came
in
and
right
away
ordered
a
treatment
for
my
son,
after
rhe
treatment
was
done
i
finally
saw
my
son
breath
better.
He
was
then
transfered
to
the
PICU
because
he
was
on
a
high
flow.
The
night
shift
nurses
greeted
us
abd
i
finally
felt
taken
care
of.
Then
the
ânurse
asked
me
your
other
son
is
also
hereâ,
I
said
no
I
donât
have
another
son
and
she
said
â
oh
the
er
nurse
said
you
were
here
eith
both
kidsâ.
I
got
so
fustrated
because
I
immediately
thought
she
gave
her
report
on
a
completely
different
patient.
RN
assessed
my
son
and
said
âoh
good
no
feverâ
and
i
said
yeah
he
hasnât
been
having
fevers
which
she
replied
oh
the
ER
nurse
said
he
did.
We
told
her
about
the
terrible
service
the
ER
nurse
had
provided
and
how
we
thought
she
was
confusing
my
son
with
another
patient
and
she
apologized.
The
rest
of
the
stay
was
okay,
and
was
just
thankful
my
son
saturations
got
better.
Since
we
hada
a
bad
experience
that
one
tume
we
now
go
to
UMC
where
they
have
experienced
pediatric
nurses
who
only
treat
and
focused
on
pediatric
patients.
I
will
NEVER
be
going
back
to
providence
childrenâs
hospital
thanks
to
a
careless
contract
nurse.
I
really
hope
Lorena
is
no
longer
working
there
she
has
s
a
danger
to
patients
and
mixes
up
patient
report.
