Very good hotel with sparkling cleaning of all areas and rooms every day. The rooms are cozy and nice furnished according to the style of the house. The owner is very kind and friendly. The area is quiet and peaceful while at only 12 min walking from the center. Highly recommended to stay here if you spend more than 2 days in Antigua.

The staff at Casa de Sofia are wonderful. Located a 7 minute walk from the central park. Highly recommend staying here if you want a good night sleep away as it is not in the direct city center. Yet not too far to walk there. Breakfast is available at a reasonable price. You can park outside the hotel on the street for free.

Excellent service, friendly environment, great breakfast and to be honest we were a bit noisy the night we checked in but instead of kicking us out they advised to be quiet. My nephew broke a hand wash by accident in his room (he was a few beers over) and of course we paid for the repairs and all but they were nice and understandable and didn’t charge us a lot. We apologized for the inconvenience and we had a great time. We had breakfast on the upper level and the the view from it was amazing. We will come back again. Thanks

Excellent value. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Service is friendly and helpful. Its a little outside of the center of town but they are quiet and it is a very easy walk to the center of town. Highly recommend staying here!

Nice little place, like staying at a friend's home. Not over the top, but comfortable and great for the price.

My girlfriend and I were very very pleased with our stay at Hotel Casa Sofia. The hosts were super friendly and they helped us with everything we needed. Although we don't speak spanish very good, they explained everything to us about Antigua and its sights in a kind and patient way. The breakfast is surprisingly cheap for what you get and when you have it on the rooftop, you'll have a magnificent view over the city and the volcano. The rooms were clean and the hotel is located close to the centre of Antigua. Highly recommended for a nice stay in a nice city!

Nice clean hotel friendly staff and a good location. I don't recommend staying here if you need dependable wifi.

I loved that the hotel is not a hotel, it is a house where you can live with the family. Estuardo has 2 lovely angels and his wife is wonderful. It is an excellent option for those looking to have a local experience and learn a little about Guatemalan family life, especially if you like children. the atmosphere of the rooms and the place is very typical. the garden is divine and the terrace is ideal to rest for a while after a long walk (I would add a hammock). Estu speaks English very well since he lived in the USA for a while. I loved that the place is super quiet and it's dark at night and then if you like to walk the Cerro de la Cruz is a few blocks away and near the hotel you can find local people including local food and treats to get out of the tourist atmosphere a bit. I must thank you and mention that if it had not been for Estuardo and his wife who interceded for me, the transportation service to the next tour would have left me. I did not schedule the tour with them and I regret it. capable and if I had done it with them I would have saved myself from the bad driver mood who was very angry and with a super ugly attitude since me and the Frenchman arrived 10 minutes late at the meeting point, both at different pick-up points. I also want to thank you very much for helping my friend since she had lost her papers (passport, money, etc.) Also because they were very kind to let me do the check-in at 11 instead of the scheduled time 3 pm and for allowing me to keep it safe my suitcase while visiting Cerro de la Cruz

It’s clean, and the rooftop view is awesome, and the staff is friendly,but... The noise level is such that you hear everything from the other rooms, and the staff talking at midnight at shift change carries up to the rooms also. The cruising on a Saturday night on the busy street kept me up too. I think I slept 3 hours. Bring your earplugs!!

The hotel is very nice and cosy ! Room was very clean and we had hot water. Staff is very helpful and we could also book shuttle with them . Only thing is that the room was a bit dark (no outside windows- only inside windows ) but except that, everything is perfect !

This was a very nice restored hotel/casa. Very friendly, very comfortable rooms/bedding. Nice rooftop deck. Unfortunately, the room was only available for one night. It turned out to be the best place overall of several hotels. Great quiet location, 5 minutes walking to Merced, 10 to central park.
