We felt completely welcome and at home in the small family hostel of Lupita and Alvaro. They run their hostel with devotion and enjoy getting to know their guests and make them feel comfortable. We could perfectly talk to them in English and enjoyed getting to know them. The dog Nala is lovely and made our stay complete.

A beautiful family-friendly B&B in a quiet part of town. Alvero and Lupita (the hosts) a very kind and social and will help you with planing tours, shuttles or anything else you need. It is very clean and the kitchen is equipped with anything you will ever need. Be sure to have glass of wine on the terrace when there is a clear sky - you will see Volcano Fuego errupt every 20 minutes or so. It is amazing!!

I highly recommend staying there. We only stayed 2 nights, but spent a lovely evening with Alvaro and Lupita on their gorgeous terrace drinking wine and watching the Fuego erupting. It truly felt like a second home in Antigua. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Wow!! I 100% recommend if you have the opportunity to stay at Casa Ela, do it!! I stayed with Lupita and Alvaro (and their gorgeous dog Nala) for one month while I was taking Spanish lessons at a school. As soon as you walk in the door, the way they make you feel that you are part of the family. No matter who you are, they make you feel special and welcome. Lupita & Álvaro are incredibly kind and generous people, especially with their time. But they also respect your space as well. From sharing meals together, mending my clothes, showing me places, cooking lesson and encouraging me with Spanish I left having a wonderful experience. I met some interesting people here too. My bed was super comfy and the house is lovely and clean, with with a nice rooftop overlooking volcanos and in a nice quiet location only 10 min walk to the main square. I definitely recommend Casa ELA! Alvaro and Lupita were very lovely! We only stayed a night and wish we could’ve stayed longer! They were helpful and were very welcoming (also their dog Nala was very friendly). They were very kind to us and let us leave our luggages, use the facilities, have showers, etc. even after checkout! The place itself was very nice, well-equipped kitchen, clean room and spacious rooms, and terrace with great views. During the night if the sky is clear, you can watch Volcan de Fuego’s eruptions! The location was in a quiet area of town but it’s only 10 mins walk to the central area so it’s not bad at all! They can also do your laundry for you for a very good price which was handy! Wonderful stay with exceptional hosts Alavaro & Lupita. They both went way out of their way to make my stay comfortable and hassle-free. Antigua can get noisy with all the commerce and tourism but this B&B was a convenient distance away from the activity without being far. The house is impeccable and the kitchen was well-equipped so I could prepare simple meals to enjoy on the terrace above while looking out to the volcanoes. A gem!
