It wasn't what I expected! It was much better. Over the years I've heard and read the not so great stories about all inclusive resorts, especially one where you can get such an excellent price it you watch and time it right. There were multiple buffets and 5 or 6 À la carte restaurants each day, they were all included in the price. The staff wasn't breathing down your neck trying to get tips, they were doing an excellent job serving to earn tips. There weren't mile long line ups at the restaurants and bars. There was always plenty of sitting space around the pool and even more space in the pools. The drinking glasses were always clean, I never once found residue or tasted the flavor of another drink in my drink. A great feature of this resort is that it has a designated area for the late night party, and the resort is large enough that we didn't even here the party. I would certainly recommend this resort to anyone looking for something is nice, has lots of food options, beach access and can be found at a great value.

This was our first time staying at an all-inclusive resort. I had a terrible time here. The food is extremely sloppy and poor quality. If you are vegetarian, you will have a hard time staying here. Overall service is substandard. There are beverages in the room which rarely get re-stocked. The reception never picks up the phone to give you essentials like coffee, extra blanket etc. There is always a huge freaking line to eat at restaurants and the wait time is generally over an hour. Granted that we were here during holiday break but still the resort was wildly unprepared. On top of that, there are some weird rules like a server would not give you fork and or spoons if you just walk upto them. You need to be seated at a table. Sometimes there were no tables available but I wanted to stand at eat. They won't even give you a mug for coffee. I was outraged. The plates are dirty as hell. The first day we were dining in their Mexican restaurant, they had two servers serving about 80 people. You rarely find meats that are properly cooked. Drinks offered here substandard and watered down. This place wasn't cheap to stay in, we paid top dollars to book our stay here and we cut down our trip by 3 days just so we can get out of this terrible place. I wish we had gone to a regular resort and paid for our own food and drinks. I would never come back again to this resort and I have my doubts about all-inclusive resorts in general. However, if you like the frat-house kinda environment with unlimited drinks and you don't care about the quality or hygiene of food, this may be a place for you.

Absolutely breathtaking resort!!!! Don’t let any of the bad reviews veer you off. The staff was very polite and attentive, the rooms very clean and spacious mini fridge restocked everyday. The food was good, always found something delicious to eat and the drinks were at your fingertips. The grounds were maintained beautifully, we stayed in building 7 which was the closest to the beach and the most beautiful infinity pool over looking the ocean. The Riu foam party was the most fun I had at a resort. The local vendors were a little pushy (trying to earn a living) but once you get to know them they were the most amazing people I’ve had come across. I will definitely be back.

Please don’t stay here. Food was substandard and you literally see the people preparing the food touching the food with their hands as they put it on the serving dishes. Also, the people testing for COVID asked for cash to change your results. They asked for $700. To divide up between the five people working. Entertainment was for small children. Stay at another resort and save yourself a lot of stress. The beach was beautiful.

It is a beautiful hotel with amazing grounds and pools. Lots of options if you want to party or relax by the pool. I was disappointed with the level of service. The bar tenders were great but walking to the bar was our only option for drinks. There were no bell hops to help with our bags up 4 flights of stairs and nobody asked me if I needed anything at meals if we did not ask. An amazing location but the level of service was sub par compared to other resorts in the area at a similar price point.

I was really scared to go here after reading all the reviews but I ended up having a great time (We stayed from 27 April to 2 May). First of all, it is not a luxury resort so don’t get confused. It might have 5 stars but that doesn’t mean you will enjoy pure luxury so don’t go there with that expectation in mind. The resort has a bunch of restaurants and obviously there will be plates you will enjoy more than others. Yes sometimes some foods are cold but those are usually the ones who need a refill anyway. There is plenty of food to chose from, great variety. I can’t tell you about the bars because my partner and I don’t really drink. We only ordered wine and as we aren’t experts on that either it was totally fine for us. The staff we encountered and the entertainers were all very nice to us. One of the entertainers even invited us out to eat at a restaurant outside of the resort. The activities the resort offers are all really fun and the people seem to enjoy it as there are always guests participating. They also have themed parties certain days of the week but we didn’t attend. They seem to be fun tho cause the area was always full and the DJ actually played great music. They also hold other shows at night and we did attend them all and did like them very much. I will give 4 stars because there will always be better places, and unfortunately my headphones disappeared inside my room but there is nothing I can do about it as you are supposed to put valuable items into the safe.

We stayed in building 7 right after the hotel reopened after Reno's. It was awesome! Our room was lovely, and staff cleaned constantly. The pools are fantastic, the resort is very nice, location is great, and the one pool party we went to (the white party) was a lot of fun. The only downside is that the food is hit and miss: breakfasts were great, but the specialty restaurants were so-so. We didn't experience any of the negative situations others mentioned. Really, for the price, it was pretty awesome!

I am currently on vacation here with my family and I love this resort. The entire place has recently gone through a 30 million dollar renovation and I am one of the first to expirence it. The rooms are very modern and some of the best I've ever seen. The service has been amazing. Very friendly staff; helpful too. The location is beautiful and has had great weather the whole time. My only complaint is that swimming in the ocean is prohibited. Though that isn't something they can necessarily control due to the problem being the current/undertow.

My family and I had taken a vacation to Mexico for a special occasion . We were very excited to spend a whole week here at this all inclusive resort. We were a bit skeptical after reading the previous reviews, but nonetheless decided to stay here as the rest of our party were staying the same resort. We arrive and checked into our two rooms. The first room was okay, the bathroom had not been cleaned all too well, but the second room was awful. The toilet in the bathroom was completely filthy with stains from someone's previous session and sink was also quite dirty as well, then there was the small stuff to mention, like a missing iron and iron board. Don't even get me started on all the mosquitoes in the room. I stayed up two nights killing as many as I could, but ended up giving up as it was an impossible task. My family had to sleep with our heads and bodies covered, just so we didn't get bit in our sleep. The food was okay, some having no salt or taste and some having way too much, I felt my blood pressure rise as I took a bite. The only up side was the waiters in the restaurants, who were all truly kind and very quick to provide my family what they needed. In the end, I would most likely not stay here at this Santa Fe location again and would not recommend this place to anyone thinking of traveling to Cabo.

I’ve been coming here on and off for about 8+ years and I used to love it here but the place has definitely gone to $hit. Service and food have become horrible. Front desk wouldn’t share any info on restaurants or food. No service pool side or the beach anymore! No service anywhere. Don’t even dream about sleeping at night! It’s almost like they are deliberately lowering quality and service to make sure the Americans and Canadians don’t come here anymore so they can fill up rooms with locals. I was here for 7 days and of the 7 days I had one person ever come to pool side and ask if we needed a drink. If you are at the beach don’t even dream about service. I used to be at the beach or the volleyball court and they used to come by non stop to ask if we needed drinks. Not anymore! You have to get up and walk up to the bar and stand in line for 30 minutes every single time. I come to Cabo to chill by the beach or pool and have someone bring drinks and I tip well every time but there was NO service anywhere! Stay away from Riu!! Oh and to make it worse at the beach they hide all the umbrellas and tables. You have to go and pay someone every time to get an umbrella. And no more shows. Just some kids shows and the night time outdoors pool party that goes till morning and is so loud no one can ever sleep! Riu used to be my spot every year, time to find some other place that would care about the customers!’ Forgot to mention the one good thing, the room cleaning crew are amazing. Our room was sparkling clean and beds made every single time!

I was a little nervous before our trip here because of the negative reviews, but I am convinced many of them must be fake. We went to the Riu Santa Fe for a friend's wedding and just got back a week ago. Our group was varying ages, but all adults. I will point out that we saw tons of families here with small children, as well, so it is family-friendly. Every single staff member I interacted with during our week long stay was so kind, cheerful and helpful. We stayed in villa 7 on the fourth floor and even with just a "regular" (not ocean view) room, we still had a small ocean view, which was a nice surprise. Our fridge and minibar was always stocked and our room was cleaned every day. The room was a perfect size and the bathroom was super nice too with a large shower. The only minor complaint is that there is minimal bedding, so I often woke up quite cold - but I'm sure if we had asked they would've brought us another extra blanket. The resort is massive, so you will be doing a lot of walking, so consider that if you have any mobility problems. None of us in our group have any issues with mobility so the walking really wasn't an issue. My boyfriend and I also went to the gym a few times; it wasn't the best gym but it was nice that there was at least an option for us to get some weights in during our stay. We mainly stayed in the pools near villa 7 and they were all great. They aren't heated but most of the days it was so hot that it was totally fine. The swim up bars were so much fun and we had a great time meeting people from all over. There are multiple "foam" pool parties during the week - our whole group had a great time at the night time ones - the day time ones weren't for us but there was still tons of people having a great time! I definitely recommend at least checking one of them out and seeing how wild it is. There are staff outside to paint your face for you to match the theme, and inside there were amazing dancers in beautiful costumes. We had a hoot at the parties. The breakfast buffets were decent, and we tried most of the restaurants. I was a little disappointed with the Japanese restaurant, but the Italian restaurant was so good it made up for it. It's worth trying each one depending on what you like. We never had to wait - every time we went for supper our huge group (15+ people) was able to walk right in and sit down. Victor was who picked us up from the airport and coordinated a sailing/snorkeling trip for our group. He was super helpful and so friendly. As stated previously, all of the staff were lovely and made our experience so great. If you are going here, please don't be worried about the negative reviews like I was. This place was great value for what we paid.

I suspect that these 10K reviews for this place are real. Please be aware of this place that they want to take advantage of you. I called in the hotel to add an additional person, I spoke on the English line on 6/11/2023 at 2:33 PM. I wanted to know the price to add an additional person. The representative was not straight forward, and he said that pricing can only be discussed when we arrive at their hotel... Really!!!! When I said that we are from the USA and we can't just travel without knowing the price for adding an additional person, he kept on going in circles providing unreasonable excuses that we must be at their hotel without knowing how much this additional person would cost and when we asked to speak to a supervisor, he hanged up. If you hanged up because you don't want to give us a price, what will be the situation when we arrive?? Of course, horrible customer service, as you are planning to rip us off giving the fact that we are coming from the USA and it will be hard to just change the plan once we arrive at the Riu resort if the price is too high. So the resort wants to take advantage of the situation. Therefore, should this operator that I spoke to over the phone cause us to change our minds from going to this resort anymore due to the poor customer service... There are hundreds of honest resorts that would love to host us and provide a great customer service. This resort needs to have a better customer service that would make people actually excited to go there to have a restful peace of mind not to cause stress. I hope Riu resort would actually put into consideration to offer better customer service and make sure that the employees there are trained.

If I could give a 3.5 I would. The rooms are a little dated and the beds not great. The food is okay but the drinks were delicious. I paid extra for an ocean view and did not get it. After 3 attempts I finally got it and the views were amazing. The pools are spectacular. The service hit and miss. I tip well and extra for service but this was lacking in areas. I always remember the resorts in Mexico having fabulous service, not so much anymore. Flat out ignored by some workers at the resort. They seem to be short handed like we are in the states. As far as price point this resort was reasonable. The location great.

By far the worst place I’ve ever stayed. We checked into an ocean view room that we paid more for and there were bugs crawling all over the “self-serve” alcohol bottles in the room and inside the coffee maker. There were also used masks in our room. We called to change rooms due to the issue and we’re informed we could “downgrade” to a regular room but could not get our money back even though are room was filled with bugs. The bed only has a single sheet on it and the rooms are freezing and musty at night. Our fridge didn’t work. The towels feel like sandpaper and have probably been used 10,000 times. Nearly impossible to get a drink unless you tip even though “tips were included.” The cups are not washed, only rinsed and we witnessed it multiple times. Everyone left sick because of this. The drinks are gross and the food is gross. The staff was nice and friendly for the most part, but the resort itself is disgusting. Would never recommend this resort to ANYONE. Lots of bugs all over don’t stay in there

Stayed here with a friend of mine and had a very nice time! Rooms were maintained nicely, pools and views were absolutely beautiful, very friendly staff, helpful as far as covid testing and flight preparation goes. The drinks and food are not the best, but nothing I wouldn’t expect from an all inclusive, especially when having to prepare for hundreds of people. The only major complaint I have is the entertainment. It seems a little dated and very kid focused. Don’t get me wrong, keeping the kids entertained is essential but at some point in the evening I expect it become more adult-focused (and play better music, not ABBA or Michael Jackson). On the nights we didn’t meet people we were very bored, which ultimately caused us to leave the resort quite a few times. During the day the resort has so much to offer, but some evenings we found ourselves going to bed very early cause there just wasn’t much to do. All that aside, this resort is very lovely and a beautiful way to enjoy Cabo, I will definitely return here some day.

I recently visited this resort for the holidays and please look elsewhere to spend your money! First off the 1 a la cart restaurant they have is nothing special at all! And others that they have listed, are all buffet style. Subpar at best! The food was actually terrible at all the buffet. Nothing was labelled, so you don’t know what youre picked up. When you ask the person working at that station, they Don’t know what your saying because they don’t understand English. The People making the food don’t care about how it tastes or how it’s served to you! So much food goes to waste cause it doesn’t taste the way it should. They cook pork, chicken, beef and fish all in the same Area! There is no such things as hand hygiene. On many occasions I saw kids putting there hands in food and dropping it back. People not wearing masks while getting food. I can go on and on. The rooms were extremely dated! The ac in the room didn’t work! You get 3 pillows on a king size bed. They were terrible. We needed a total of 6 pillows in order to get a decent sleep. Aunts everywhere. No light in the shower, so basically you’re showering in the dark. The drinks are not stocked everyday. Half ply toilet paper at best. If you think you’re going to sleep in, you won’t be able to. The neighbouring rooms slam shut when opened or closed and everything echos in the halls. It’s noisy in the mornings! And the hallway leading to your rooms are dark! There is no elevators in any of the villas, every villa is 4 stories. They do keep the grounds very clean. The pool area is the most relaxing area on the resort. The beach is full of vendors constantly asking if you want to buy anything. You can’t even see the water from the beach Area cause there is a line of vendors across the area designated to the resort! If you test on the resort and you test positive they make you quarantine in a area away from everyone. You can’t leave your room, they deliver the food to your room 3 times an day and they don’t care if you have a food restrictions. they give you a dummy card for that room so you can’t reenter or exit. Whatever you do Test off the resort! So to recap avoid going here! It’s a total disappointment, the Riu resorts are not what they use to be. Oh and everyone one wants tips!!!! Everyone! If I could give this place no stars I would!

Our week in Cabo was definitely unforgettable. The best decision we made, apart from Cabo itself, was staying at the Riu. The location of the resort is great; right on the water looking out at the famous rock formation. However, the water is very intense and is not safe for swimming (though you can wade in a little). The food here is great, the buffets had lots of options and really good service from the staff. The restaurants are first come first serve; some you'll get a table at no problem, others you need to show up at 5:30 to book a spot. The American BBQ House is the best food on the resort and usually has a short line. The drinks are great, and tipping a dollar for a large drink order will get it made quickly and with double shots. The staff are friendly, most speak English and are willing to entertain our tourist Spanish. The parties are why we chose the Riu and they did not disappoint. From the music, the foam pool, the hookah VIP area and all the young people who filled the pool with dancing bodies, it was a week I'll never forget. This resort does a great job of keeping the family and child side of the resort separate from the party. Night life is great, with 24hr sports bar service and a nightclub. The Riu was a fun time, a great experience and a week I won't ever forget.

Title: Fun Atmosphere at Hotel Santa Fe, But Food and Drinks Need Improvement Review: I recently stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe and had a mixed experience. Here’s my take: Pros: • Excellent Customer Service: The staff were attentive and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. • Affordable Pricing: The rates were very reasonable for the quality of the resort. • Beautiful Resort: The resort itself is gorgeous, with well-maintained facilities and stunning views. • Vibrant Party Atmosphere: There’s always something happening, making it a great spot for those looking for a lively vacation. • Plenty of Activities: You won’t get bored here with a variety of things to do. Cons: • Food Quality: Unfortunately, the food was a letdown. It lacked flavor and didn’t meet my expectations. • Subpar Beverages: The drinks, particularly the liquor, felt cheap and not up to the mark. • Spring Break Vibes: At times, the atmosphere felt too much like spring break with apparent underage drinking, which might not be suitable for all guests. Final Thoughts: While Hotel Santa Fe excels in service, price, and atmosphere, it falls short in culinary quality and controlled party environment. It’s great for those seeking a non-stop party experience but might not suit guests looking for a more refined or family-friendly environment. I’m torn about returning.

We stayed for a week from 26.12 to 03.0123. really great hotel with nice rooms. The whole resort is newly renovated and you can see this. Food is exceptional but be aware that it can get crowded in the different restaurants! It’s a huge place with direct beach access but the beach is not really for swimming. High waves and a strong current is there. Really the only thing which is not so nice are the room door locks! It’s basically impossible to close the doors without a Big Bang. This is not so nice on the night!!! All inclusive is great even with cocktails and all other drinks (incl. the minibar with alcohol). Overall we can recommend it!

This is a beautiful resort and the views are breathtaking. The drinks were good and the staff was great. The food however, was not the best. I think more authentic Mexican dishes would be wonderful. I don't want to go to Mexico for burgers and fries. We left the resort to get food most of the time which was an added expense. We specifically booked this resort because they had a "no spring-breaker" policy, but in fact it was all spring breakers and they were loud & obnoxious yelling through the rooms and hallways until about 3am. We did ask to change locations after the 2nd night and it was better. You can hear everything in the rooms. There is little insulation and it gets very cold at night. The rooms are clean and overall I enjoyed most of our stay!

So checked in Riu Santa Fe….place looked like little town. So nice to take walks in between buildings or by the pool. I walked in a room infested of mosquitoes and smelled really bad. I was getting bit left and right and I at least killed 30 of them. I went to the front desk and they came in and sprayed the room down. The mosquitoes were falling on the bed from the celling. They didn't not offer us new bed sheets or anything. This place is disgusting for a "beautiful vacation" with great reviews. The room was dirty (there was dust all around) spider web on the ceiling. The walls had brown stains, pillow cases were disgusting I had to use my shirts as pillow cases. Next morning I went to a front desk and told them all about it. I asked to be moved to Riu Palace but I was told there were no available rooms. So I had to look elsewhere. Not to mention drunk people falling out of the infinity pools into the catch pool (on there head this place is out of control). Most of the resort smelled bad (issues with sewer). The beach is public so you can expect all kinds of “business” (pretty scary for a family vacation). I do have to say food at their restaurants was great. I liked 2 of the restaurants (not sure of the names- one is open for dinner only the other one for breakfast and dinner). I would give them 5 out 5 for those two restaurants. Drinks are alright honestly it could be a lot better and cups are reusable plastic cups (they look old - not a fan of it at all). I have to say no straws (like really no straws at all???) Overall this pace needs some attention for sure!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! This resort is very sketchy. The front desk staff don't seem to know anything when you need help or have a complaint. The restaurant(s) food is horrible and the sanitation is poor. The resort rooms are lack luster and are poorly cleaned - hair all over the bathroom. BEWARE of random adults coming up to your children trying to solicit them by giving them compliments - touching their hair , telling them how cute they are; taking photos of them, or asking your child to come play with "them and their friends". They follow children around the resort and approach them when they think no adult is around. These suspicious persons lurk around in the shadows watching and listening for names so that they can approach your child with a "friendly" demeanor. One man even had the audacity to come knock on the hotel room door and ask for a 9 year old child by name. It may be two men and woman or a woman and a teenage boy together. They sit inconspicuously in the resort restaurants without any food or plates on the table or at the pools at night where it is dimly lit. If I could give a zero star rating I would. Remember to inform your children of the dangers when it comes to strangers. Especially in another country where human/sex trafficking and organ harvesting is lucrative. The only pro is there are plenty of activities for children - 2 water parks, 3 pools, and nightly shows.

After reading reviews I was worried that our stay would be terrible. IT WAS AMAZING! Our room was cleaned everyday and stocked with whatever drinks we wanted every day. There was plenty of options for restaurants, snacks, etc. The staff was constantly making sure we were taken care of. We also noticed they were always cleaning things, literally everything got cleaned from the light poles to the chair legs! Will definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful time. It's was awesome and quiet. The parties were hot, and we had a blast. We had a boring view from the room. The food and services were great. Great bar and refrigerator. Don't get a room with two mattresses put together. That was a nightmare!

Just returned from Riu Santa Fe. Want to share few pros and cons. Pros: Location is awesome. Beautiful view of the mountain. The infinity pools are just awesome. Rooms are pretty good. Food is very good. Buffet and a-la-carte both have very tasty foods. The beef tacos at TikiTaco is just yummy. Pools are heated. Nice ground. Cons: The beds are horrible. We have bad body ache after the bad sleep. They said 2 double beds but in reality two twin beds. Lack of entertainment. Only has shows in the auditorium at 9pm. Usually all inclusive resorts have something like music, piano, singing going on in the lobby area, but its pretty dead here. With kids nothing much to do. The party (pink, white and neon) music is pretty loud. So if you have kids do not take room at building 4-6. Overall its a good resort. We had pretty fun time there.

We searched for a place in Cabo to stay and this place jumped out as a value, but also alot of what we were looking for. With 1200 rooms on the property, it is large and has enough for everyone. From the 4 times a week "party zone" (though a caution here...having a villa near this can be a bother for some), to the several pools (including swim up bars and infinity pool), to the beach access, to the wide variety of restaurants. Even a small park with 6 or so water slides on campus. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the property and water areas, the views, and the space for everyone despite the volume of people. I wasn't impressed with the service all the time (4 days to get my shuttle/transport confirmed, 2 days to get a working coffee pot, small detail but...) nor was I impressed with the fact I booked a rate on their website and didn't "lock" or materialize as I was charged more than I thought, nor did I like all of the food as most was overcooked and or flavorless. A few insider items: 1. when checking out, there are other guest service desks besides the main one which you can check out. 2.You can only arrange shuttle VIA the property if you book with the property's website. 3. Try all the restaurants but find the two or so you like because all are not great. 4. By 3PM most swim up bars are full or near full, get there early or ensure the crowd. 5. Bring a large brim hat, that sun is strong. 6. Even though all inclusive, tip people please.

This resort is a few changes away from being 5 star in everything. Biggest issue is probably management/training of employees. We told a front desk employee that our room had mold and she said that it's normal for mold to grow because it's close to the ocean. I've stayed in dozens of places near the ocean and never had mold. Any other place that cares about its guests would immediately look into a new room. Food was very good although I did get sick from one of the outdoor taco stands. Drinks were excellent and while the place is massive, I never felt crowded due to the large pools and good amount of bars. Entertainment was also very good. Fire alarm also went off twice in the middle of the night for no reason.

Based on some of the recent reviews we were very nervous for this trip…but just decided we were going to make the best of it! Upon arrival we were more than impressed though…it’s a beautiful resort, and the staff was beyond friendly! Our room was clean and was cleaned and stocked daily…the only “bad” part were the beds are quite small…made for some interesting sleeping! This is a huge resort so you kinda get what you get with the food…but we always found something we liked and never went hungry. We had the best time at the pool and enjoying the beach! My only advise is if you are a light sleeper, request a room away from the party pool! Overall we had a great time…our kids are older and they definitely took advantage of the all inclusive!!

I don't think that I've ever posted a negative review, but I feel people should be warned about the loud construction going on before booking here. That hotel was so cray loud that I paid for an additional flight and left three days early! There was no end to the loud music. I could have tolerated that if there wasn't construction going on all around our room. We were first put in a hotel room where hammering started at about 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning. So, I requested a different room. The hammering started about the same time in that room but was a little more tolerable because it was a little farther away and stopped a couple of hours later. The worst noise came when jackhammers -- literally jackhammers -- started above us that morning and continued all day! I get it, they had a hurricane. But they had no business renting out rooms to people without checking with them first to see if they want to go ahead with the scheduled vacation if they will be subjected to construction noise for their whole visit. I can assure you that it was not a vacation!

This resort was amazing! Such a beautiful place, the infinity pools along the ocean were fantastic! Day or night they were so beautiful and always kept at a great temperature. Staff was always attentive and helpful! Oscar at the breakfast buffet was great, all the bartenders in the pool provided very quick service. Rooms were clean and air conditioning was perfect. Foam parties were so much fun and not something you get every day! Highly recommend going to them, and the noise at building 7 was minimal. Food was great, always found something delicious to eat. Highly recommend this place.

I had a great time at Riu. The place was spectacular with a great sea front view. So many food choices...lobster was one of my faves! The staff were corteous and friendly. They would also cover your 10 day quarantine free of charge if you test positive for covid. I will definitely go back at this resort. Highly recommended!

Amazing Hotel. The service was fantastic and I highly recommend. Be warned though it is huge so requires a lot of walking and most buildings do not have an elevator. We were on the Third floor when we arrived but they were able to change our room the next day so we could be on the ground floor for my 80 year old mother. They have bell hops to assist with luggage and each day the rooms are made up with fresh towels. The buffets are good with lots of selection and there are a lot of restaurant choices.

Great service. Very secure. Good food at multiple restaurants and fun pools overlooking the ocean. Large complex so it's a bit to walk around, buts what makes it great too. Plus a small water park! And it's all inclusive. Fun day games like water volleyball or water polo and beach volleyball plus other fun and silly games everyone tends to enjoy. Full free minibar. Restaurants close around 10pm. Breakfast starts around 7am. Every room has a great view, for the most part, considering there's about 1,000 rooms just at RIU Santa Fe. And the two adjacent as well.

I was so scared after reading the recent reviews. We are currently here day 3 of our 13 day stay and I don’t see any issues or concerns like the previous reviews. The food selection is unreal, eggs 8 different ways and if you don’t like that there is an omelette station or a station that will fry ur eggs how you want. Tacos burgers hot dogs 24 hours a day. If your going a day trip or flying home you can grab cold sandwiches and burgers wrapped up and ready to go. I’m travelling with a group of 7 which 5 are kids. They plugged the toilet, I called the front desk and I’m 2 mins maintenance was there with a plunger. The room is clean and comfy. We are in building 7 close to everything. When maintenance was at our room there was a gentlemen knocking to bring us pop and alcohol for our mini bar in our room. Check in was quick and easy no waiting. We haven’t tried all the restaurants yet but we will post an update after our stay. This resorts is a 5 star and holds up to that standard in my eyes compared to all other resorts in Mexico I have visited.

Just got back we stayed for 10 days. The room was nice bed comfortable. About the sixth day the smell in room was horrible it smelt like the sewage. The food was horrible no favor no variety the same thing every day. We tried the specialty restaurants the same. Only one we liked was the steak house. The pools are all wonderful, water slide park was fun. I could not believe no elevator so please if you go be prepared to do a lot of waking. The shows were also not good the same thing every night Karaoke and lip syncs songs no showmanship in acting. We had a waiter name Isaac he was amazing he made you feel like you are the only person in the buffet area. I have been to many RIU and no problem this one however I will not be going back was so dissatisfied with too much. When someone goes on vacation they are looking forward to the food and the shows the two most important part of your day. We made the best of it.

We had an awesome time. It was my first time on a resort and I thought it was great. It’s affordable, lots of activities by the pool. Beautiful pool overlooking the beach and ocean. Awesome view of the Cabo arches. Our rooms were perfect. I’m unsure why people have reviewed them poorly when the place is affordable. The food was good, we tried out most of the restaurants and were pleased. We weren’t able to make it to the steakhouse, but it is first come first serve. It was understandable! We have an awesome time!

The room was ok. Had to wait two hours to get into room. The food was bad. Every restaurant was buffet style serving the exact same gross food. The only one that was different was the Chinese restaurant. The pools were hot like bath water. If I ever go back, I will stay closer to the marina. The staff was nice and drinks were good. Just extremely disappointed in the food compared to other all inclusive resorts I have been to.

Beautiful resort with good service but the food and rooms are below average. The food is mainly buffets and are lacking in flavour/quality. The rooms (other than ocean view or higher class rooms) are very mid, something you’d see at a basic hotel for $70/night max and a lot of the stuff in the room wasn’t working (toilet, A/C, etc). The service is really great though and the employees made the experience a lot better. The view is really pretty and the swimming area is quite large so it is a decent spot but I would recommend looking elsewhere if food is an important factor for your vacation.

Was there for 7 day. Staff was super nice. Had problem with AC and fridge and was taken care of quickly. Room was cleaned well daily. Was greeted politely every morning in passing with staff. The only reason for one less star is because the evening entertainment was pretty poor. They did try and most of the time announced bilingually. The group of 10 I was with agreed on the entertainment being poor so not just my thoughts. Food was pretty good too. Kids are allowed but at this place should NOT be brought. Saw the staff handle getting kids out of the swim up bar a few times and had to explain the signage to the "adult" parents EXCELLENT location and beautiful beach, sunrises, and sunsets! Thank you for R&R!

Stayed in building #8 Our first time to Cabo and this resort. The resort is beautiful! The employees were very helpful and wonderful to interact with. Our room was spacious. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Fridge always stocked as well as fresh towels. Room was cleaned everyday. The food options were very good. We were always able to find something we liked from each location. Pools and views were gorgeous. Would stay again.

The pools were the best part of this resort. Don’t go for the food. There was ALOT of flies around the restaurants. We went there for our honeymoon, selected it in advance as an option so they knew and when we got there, we were told we have a room with 2 double beds. So I asked for a king size and after about 20 minutes of negotiations they moved us to a king room with a view facing the other hotel. So that kinda sucked. My husband and I both got food poisoning and by the sounds of it everyone we met did too. We got to a point about 5 days in where we wouldn’t eat any of the meat. Normally at resorts we get greeted with a drink at check in. Didn’t happen here. We asked them to clean our room and the sheets had food on them from the night before so instead of changing the sheets, they just made the bed with the dirty sheets. There is NO ROOM SERVICE even though it’s advertised as so. The only place to get food after 10pm is the sports bar, one night after drinking all day and night we needed some bread or something for our friend and we were told to come back tomorrow. This would be a good resort if you were young, wanted to party 24/7 and not eat or relax.

My wife and I travel 3 to 4 times a year to multiple locations in the Mexico/Caribbean when we find great deals. We are not young…60+ but did not feel out of place here. We found this deal thru Vacation Express which included the flights. The resort was pretty full and busy. It is a big resort so there is a lot of walking. Check in went OK, Welcome drink, there was a long line as we came in on a bus of about 30 other people that were also on our flight so a lot of people trying to check in. Our room was ready at check in because we checked in about 3:30. Meals - all in all were good. Tried them all! A lot of the al la carte restaurants that have a buffet style, which is not bad, you can actually look to see what looks good and take your choice. Our favorites were the Italian and the Asian. Ate breakfast every morning at the buffet, omelets and fried eggs, poached eggs every morning!! Service was good at all the restaurants. TIP: eat early (when they open at 6:00) and you won’t have a wait. We always got in the line about 5:45 and never had a problem. Rooms – room was nice and spacious. Was in building 3 and was close to the main pool and restaurants. Had the 2 full beds that were pushed together. A/C worked good, but wish there was a setting that would allow the blower to stay on to drown out the hallway noise. Slept great when the A/C was on, but could hear everything when it was off. Our T/V remote was broken and did not work. I dropped it off at the customer service desk and went to dinner. When we got back from dinner we had a shiny new remote sitting on the bed. The hallways are loud as others have mentioned in their reviews, mostly from inconsiderate/drunk partiers that feel the need to shout to others half way down the hall. *One negative thing we noticed was we set out tips in the morning for the maid and for the beverage service separately (put the tip inside the refrigerator) We stopped by the room before lunch and room had not been made up and no maid carts on our floor, but the tip for the maid was gone. Drinks had been refilled so the person filling the drinks took their tip and stole the maids tip. After that happened, we would set the maid tip out in the afternoon to make sure she received it. Something the resort should be aware of. Or maybe the maids should all get together and have a little chat (if you know what I mean) with the beverage person!!! Pools – were all very nice. We spent time at several of them, but spent most of our time at the beach front one that has the swim up bar. The other times were at the main pool by the main square. Loungers were not any issue to find, but if you want shade, get there early. I like that the RIU’s have the shaded awnings by the pools at their resorts. The swim up bars don’t get too busy until about 12:00. After that it’s a wild time….fun to sit back and watch. Bars – all were good with basic liquor and drinks were tasty. We were drinking Smirnoff and grapefruit juice. The bartenders usually remembered our drink and sometimes didn’t even have to tell them, they would just ask, 2 more?. Pool bars usually had 2-3 bartenders and never had to wait long for service. Parties – We did attempt to go to the jungle party, but it was way too loud….remember, were 60+ and it just wasn’t for us….but we still tried! One complaint I have is not with the resort, but with inconsiderate a**h**e guest that insist on playing their very loud music from their portable speakers in a crowed area at the pool like they are the only ones there, even when the pool area has music playing. Had this happen twice…..I mean...come on people…really? And in closing….please tip where you can, what you can….these folks work really hard and are deserving of tips. We will definitely return again next year especially if I find good deal. Will probably bring some friends with us!

We had a great time at the riu Santa Fe. We took 3 children aged 6months, 3 years and 13. There is something to do for everyone. We had an exceptional experience with our dining. Diana went above and beyond to make our trip truly one of a kind, she is the reason alone I would want to return.

Recently stayed 8 days at the Riu Santa Fe, in beautiful Cabo San Lucas. We had a great time off the resort exploring Cabo. However, on the resort, it was a different story. We were in villa 7 closest to the beach, which was nice, but we were on the 4th floor, and there was only 1 working elevator & about 4 days in that one stopped working too. This meant my 65 year old mother had to hoof it up & down the stairs in order to get anywhere. Beyond that, they advertise 24-hour snack bars because they don't offer room service. What they don't tell you is that the only 24-hour snack bar is at the main lobby. The others close around 4 pm. On top of that, the food was mediocre at best. Even the on resort restaurants weren't great. Restaurants off the resort were good, though. The entertainment was pretty decent, although watching the people passout, puke, and deficate in the pool became the norm as this resort was just a party for what seemed to be underage kids. It was nearly every day that someone was being taken out of the pool in a wheel chair or being handcuffed and taken by police for putting their hands in the wrong places and fighting with security. That and the hidden fees like charging for towel cards not being returned or sheets needing to be changed "yes they just remake the bed they don't wash the sheets" added up to this place just not being worth it. Especially when you are sandwiched in between the Riu palace and Riu Baja California, and you can't go onto either resort, but they can take advantage of the Riu Santa Fe. Only giving 1 star because the wait staff at the buffets and bartenders staff were friendly even though they were completely overwhelmed and you can't give 0. We got many recommendations on other resorts while in cabo, but even without saying where we were staying, no one in cabo suggested Riu Santa Fe. Unless you are 18-21 and just looking for a slop-fest, I would not recommend this resort.

Overall a 0/5. I would never recommend this place to anyone outside the age of 18-23 who is looking for a place to party on spring break. Food is terrible. Alcohol is bottom shelf. Check in experience was terrible. Long walk to the room and even though I asked for help with luggage they said they don't provide that service. Upside is the bar and restaurant staff are friendly. In the event there are any issues Management is completely unhelpful and condescending. I had charges on my room for Wi-Fi, even though it was advertised as free and all inclusive. Even though I disputed the charges as soon as I was made aware of them, the management didn't let me leave the property via my shuttle until I settled the transaction. Realistically, this is a 2 star hotel at best, only because of the location. There are significantly better properties in Cabo for the same price. Save yourself the trouble and avoid the Riu entirely.
