Friendly’s is a fabulous restaurant that’s known for offering popular American meals such as burgers and turkey sandwiches and a wide variety of ice cream selections. In October of 2022, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at Friendly’s, specifically the branch located in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience!!! Our waitress, Jackie did a great job on taking our orders, delivering our meals and for providing top notch customer service. Both my wife & I found our meals to be superbly tasty and highly delicious. We also very much enjoyed the complimentary ice cream dishes!!! We both definitely recommend Friendly’s as wonderful place to dine for couples and families!!!

Went for ice cream but should have gone somewhere else.. Place is very dirty and falling apart. The bathrooms were so gross i have seen gas stations more sanitary 2 urinals broke and 1 out of 2 stalls not clogged with human waste. Now how are you out of hot fudge and chocolate syrup? That is pretty much everything on the menu. Also are you out of glassware? Why did it come out in paper cups? Place wasn't busy at all. Definitely my last time coming here with the family.

The food was good as was the service. As there are not too many Friendly's restaurants left around it is somewhat nostalgic every time I visit them.

The cuisine here is excellent. Nice staff. All liked it. The place is generally pleasant.

Service deserves no stars. When I first walked in a server immediately asked if I was picking up. I told him I wanted to place an order to go. I stood at the counter for 10 minutes watching a server playing on her phone while occasionally glancing at me before anyone came over. I ordered a Sunday that wasn’t complicated but yet they still got it wrong!! Service doesn’t even get a star in my book. The manager should be ashamed at themselves! The place wasn’t even that busy!!

Went there for a late dinner. Can't remember the name of our waitress, but she was so patient and friendly. She above and beyond to make sure that we have a great experience.

i ordered the burger with mac and cheese and got the honey bbq sauce as a side, and it completely blew my mind and taste buds! by far the best burger I've had. the menu was so big and varied that it was borderline overwhelming. waitress was super patient and a great sport. i got the hunka chunka lava cake as a dessert and swapped the ice cream with the barking pretzel, and it was truly life changing. the bathrooms were really clean. service was fast. Overall, i really enjoyed my experience here and definitely will come back!

3 strikes you are out. Missing food. Cold food. Kids apple slices were brown. Turkey dinner unappetizing. We will no longer utilize this establishment. I usually do not do reviews so that goes to show how bad this place is.

Updated store, clean, comfortable, well air conditioned, well lit, plenty of space and seats many people. Service was fast. Our waitress, Jackie, was really nice and gave good recommendations. The food was hot, tasted great, wasn't overcooked and came quickly, we only got apps & ice cream. I'm glad to see they didn't close all of their locations. I'll def travel the 15min to come back here.

Food was good. Waitress was very nice and helpful. The only thing is the prices at friendly. The prices are not friendly. To bring a family of two or three children plus two adults you looking at $60 to $70 easy plus tip sad to say that a place we used to go twice a week we only go once every few months now because it became just too expensive more than most other restaurants

I am so at disappointed in my recent visit. I ordered a monster mash which has been on the menu since the early 2000s. I wanted two scoops so they told me it was a medium. Then they shared there wouldn’t be a face although I wanted that for nostalgia I decided no big deal it’ll taste great anyway! $15 later I regret the order. It was good, thought I waited 30 minutes for three simple ice cream orders with only two other occupied tables. My friends got Oreos on top of her ice cream and extra on the side. The check came back with 5 orders of Oreos charged. On my monster mash I asked for an extra cherry and they came with a little side cup of them. Although nice, I didn’t want to be charged $2.99 for “3 cherry” orders. We brought this up to the wait staff and the lady told me the extra Oreo charges were for the monster mash. I informed her politely that the monster mash didn’t have Oreos on it and she told me sternly that it does and completed disregarded the comment about the extra cherry charge. I should’ve asked her for the menu and showed her that it doesn’t to get rid of the charges. Very aggravating as that has been a staple sundae that I have ordered many times and never had this issue, everyone check their checks.

My husband and I stopped by for a bite to eat. We were greeted at the door and told there would be a wait due to a school fund raiser. Honestly, there wasn't much of a wait at all. They all seemed a little burnt out due to how busy they were, but that didn't stop them at all one bit. They kept moving, kept smiling, and kept attending to customer needs while interacting with them. It's what restaurants like these are about, and the team went above and beyond! I just wanted to thank the team last night for making it through their shift, thank you for a great experience, & thank you for all your hard work.

Service is good. Atmosphere is good. Food is good. Dessert is good. Bathroom is clean.

I miss my local Friendly’s and certain discontinued menu items but i am glad i can still visit a Friendly’s within 30 minutes. It was a neighborhood staple we could walk to back in the day. Elmwood Park site is clean, spacious, modern yet retro, with courteous accommodating manager & staff. We liked our server Jazzlyn. Was a rough night to have to work: July 4, our local fireworks were cancelled til the next night so we made the trip but on the way out we could see & hear THEIR fireworks. Staff made our evening pleasant :)

Waitress is smart fast and cheerful, burger is the best and the ice cream most popular you should try 🍔

Absolutely disgusting. I made an order and recieved food that someone ate. Doordash blames the restaurant and the restaurant blames doordash. So both get a review. How do you send food to someone that someone ate. I will never order from here or go here in person.

Thank you Marilyn for the GREAT service. Hi five to the Ice Cream Team. My soup and salad had good temperatures. My husband's fish patties looked like they were frozen and pulled apart. The fish dinner DID NOT look like what he's had at other Friendly's. The bathroom needs some repairs but the floor looks new.

I love Friendly's, they still have amazing food, staff, and ice cream. However, this location does feel a little cold in terms of the vibe.. the interiors feel cheap and although seeming recently renovated, feel very empty and bland. Would reccomend if you're just going for the food though.

If in the area its a nice place to come eat. Typically I'll get a burger or sandwich. There's a lot of new items on the menu. Last couple of times I've had to wait more than usual to actually be acknowledged and seated even though it's not too busy. Also they don't serve breakfast everyday anymore

The service was pretty terrible. Staff, including the Manager way too loud and not very professional. BUT I will say, it is clear the Manager is trying to get things in check. That said, it's FRIENDLY'S DANG IT and it was WORTH the wait! There are only a handful in the NY/NJ area so I absolutely put up with the service to get my crispy chicken salad and my brownie Sunday. Hope they get the service on track but REGARDLESS I will be going back!

This was my first time at a friendly’s in my life and the experience was so/so..As I walked in I had to wait to be seated about 10-12 minutes because there was no host in the front and workers kept walking by us finally the manager came and took me to my table..Me and my fiancé sat down and looked over the whole menu decided what we wanted and it took about 15 minutes before a manager asked us have we been helped we said no and he sent the server over to us and as we waiting him and a another server was arguing..we finally ordered and the food was good the shrimp was amazing and the fries were really good but I’d advise never ever get rice from them so disgusting..my fiancé enjoyed his grilled cheese as well and our server never checked on us at all finally once the food was done she came over we ordered ice cream which was absolutely amazing the sundaes are the best..finally it came time to pay I gave the server my credit card and she was gone for about 20 minutes with my card in this time I witnessed her get into a whole argument with another server because neither wanted to take a table that just got sat finally she gave me my card back…all in all the food was great the service tho definitely needs work they have to many employees who don’t really wanna work oh and cleaning needs to get better 2 tables were sat at sticky tables like come on it’s Covid so clearly cleaning isn’t being taken serious

You can go with friends and acquaintances and have a good time. The location is great. No complaints at all. Just a sea of ​​emotions. A memorable place. You can still come here. I will do so. Maybe next week or next month.
