Unique aesthetics. Good location for unique pictures. Food is quite on the high side but should be worth it. Lovely reception. I love the ambience.

Local food cooked the right way. Perfect manner to introduce my friend to Rivers delicacies with the periwinkles in shells in the soup(that needs a lot of getting used to). The decor is irregular and simple. I enjoyed reliving my childhood by playing board games which the restaurant provided. We got there too early but we were allowed to sit a while before placing our orders and maybe that’s why it took some time to get us our food and don’t judge me, swallow can be my first meal of the day. The portions were huge and we were filled. The toilet wasn’t much of a looker.

Design and Space ✅✅✅ I LOVE the entirety of the space, its design, the set up, the little games on the table to make you forget the wait time is a big long. Service ✔️ Well I couldn't forget that part. Wait time for food to arrive was a bit long and could be improved. The waiter forget one of our orders. Not cool. Food Quality ✅✅✅ That was my first time eating Onunu. Even though I was told eating with stew didn't do it justice, my taste buds still thanked the ancestors for creating this delicacy. Affordability ✅ The prices of the food and drinks were relatively affordable.

Location ✅ The Restaurant is located on Onne Road (just behind Studio 24), off the very popular Woji Road where half of the night life in Port-Harcourt happens. It's almost impossible to miss. Ambience ✅ I would say great because it stays true to its name 'native'. Has a woody theme with very nice accessories - wooden mortars for serviette holders. Every table has a bell to draw the waiters attention and some local games to keep one busy (Board and Cards). Had these interesting tables that had sewing machine legs/wheels! Has outdoor and indoor sections...cool Food ✅ The best part - very tasty! Had the Onunu and I wasn't disappointed. I fancy that they offer palm wine too. The palm wine was also goooood! I think that the food is reasonably priced, considering the quality of food. Prices range from about 4500 and above. I was a little surprised that they ran out of Croaker Fish for a restaurant in Port-Harcourt 🙄 Waiting Time 🆗 Just prepare to wait sha... Took over 30 minutes to get my food ready and reasonably so, considering the meal I ordered. Improvements could be made to the waiters' professionalism. Found only one toilet.....could do with more!

This is an urban restaurant with local vibes ,a Nigerian traditional themed ambiance that I found quite beautiful. Their forte is Nigerian south south food , so it’s a good place to explore south south traditional dishes. Review Piom Piom: This is Periwinkle (Or Isam as the locals here would call it ) . If you have eaten Nkwobi or Isi Ewu then you would Vividly understand the dish . This dish is basically like periwinkle prepared in the same sauce used to make Isi Ewu/Nkwobi It’s a bit stressful to eat but totally worth it . Onunu : It’s a fusion of Ripe plantain and soft yam pounded together in Palm oil. It was prepared properly and if you are into ripe plantain and yam fussed together you would love this dish. It was paired with sea food stew Sea food stew : As you can see in the picture , this stew was assaulted with a lot of seafood , no space anywhere, the fish in it was delicious . It’s a native stew that goes very well with the onunu. Native fishman soup : This was an in house special soup . It was paired with pounded yam , definitely my highlight of all the meals to be very honest. It was delicious with a lot of seafood and the fish inside was just perfect

I wanted to take my wife to somewhere new in PH and Native tray came to mind as although I had been there before I didn't have the patience at the time to wait for them to prepare the soup. We wanted to go to the Trans-Amadi outlet, but we called in and for some reason they redirected me to GRA outlet. Directed by google maps, We went to the GRA branch and had to ask around as there wasn't an obvious sign post on the major road to direct customers. We were welcomed into the warm, beautiful restaurant space by a very courteous waiter, who was superb at his job describing the meals to us while we went through the menu which I must say is a work of art in and by itself. As we read of tribes and then were introduced to their delicacies. I am big on time and true to their promise, In exactly 30 minutes from when we ordered, our order of Fisherman soup and eba was on our table. My wife thought the soup could be thicker, but we will still score them an A. I'll definitely be back. Till next time

I had my birthday dinner here, and these people really know how to prepare native dishes. 👏🏽 I had Onunu (ripe plantain+yam pounded together) and Fisherman’s soup with beef as the main protein and other obstacles present. It was such a delicious delicacy. They also have board and card games present at each table to keep you and your friends/family entertained while your meal is being prepared. If you ever happen to go there, I strongly recommend you order “Noah’s Ark”. It’s a meal that comes with every protein you can think of: beef, chicken, snails, crabs, prawns etc, all in one dish. The only problem is that this meal is quite seasonal, so if you’re lucky it’ll be available for you. I wasn’t so lucky lol. Also, try their palm wine while you’re at it. Thank me later! 😉

Native Tray has been on my list for some time now & I finally had to pay a visit. Well, I did try Rivers Native soup. The soup was tasty 😋 but for 7k, I was really expecting some holdup....you know 😕 😅 but i guess the economy downturn shattered my expectations. I think Native Tray should improve on that.

Quaint place, we dined in. The food was delicious and the service was warm. The restroom roof was leaky though. All in all, it was a good experience.

Amazing place and very good hosts . Highly recommend any out of town folk to come here. I am out of country and every time I come, I come with my friends and they are blown away. They make all the food fresh as ordered and have games to play as you wait along side good ambience and a very nice educational menu to study up on Nigerian Tribes. 5 star!

I loved the Olugbu soup.I liked the board games that kept us busy till the food arrived. Made us bear the absence of starters on the menu. 😀 Great idea having a sit out.

My first time having fisherman soup and onunu/pounded yam and it was really good. It’s a good place to have a taste of native Nigerian foods. The aesthetics is not so much but it’s perfect for the concept of the restaurant.

African themed restaurant with a touch of an industrial vibe. The food was outstanding and you can get preety much the very best of riverine and southern native soups here. But the star of the show was the look and feel of the place.

I was really looking forward to the meal from here cos a friend recommended them highly and I was highly disappointed. At almost 8k (excluding delivery charges) the food was grossly overpriced and when it arrived, the portion was barely enough for one person (had to order food from somewhere else), and it didn't contain items I was charged for! (I asked for chicken thighs and beef and I received barely half a bowl of soup with chicken wings and no beef!) When I called to complain, I was told the beef 'was cut into pieces in the soup'. (I guess the 'knorr cubes' sized whatever on the spoon are meant to be the beef pieces 🙄) A call in response to the complaint was ended with a promise to rectify the complaint and followed by nothing.

First thing you notice is the unique decor. It has a homely, African feel. Then the food is nice, just don't go there very hungry, else you'd likely faint from hunger, as their food take time to get ready. The service, however, needs to be improved. Overall, its not a bad place to dine out.

It has a lovely ambiance and board games to keep you and your friends busy while you wait for your meal. Additionally, they have a rich and exciting menu to boot.

I liked the ambience, felt like they just fumigated the premise so it smelt funky. It also seems there is a pest and insect control thing happening cause I had some mosquito bites before leaving. It was nice the games to keep you occupied while waiting was a nice strategy. And our food arrived on time as promised.

I had such a good time here, I had the native soup with semo and it was the best I've had! If you're still wondering if you should try the food here, this is a sign that you should (especially the native soup)

The food is nice but the place need regular fumigation & fly catchers dues to the sandflies. Also asking customers to transfer & sending the evidence is a bit low for such classy place. Please you need to upgrade and get a POS machine.

Native Tray is the place, nice setting and customer service. They might not have all the meals on their menu, but the packaging would keep you delighted.

😋🤤Starch and Owo was awesome there, the customer services was very good as well. I came back with my sister to make sure it was real. The food was just too good😋🤤 behind this Studio 24 at 1a Onne Rd, GRA PH. Loved it.
