Not a famous tourist sites but definitely worth to have a visit here. It’s quite surprising to see there’s an arena hidden in the living area just beside a major street. Local people hanged out here and enjoyed the sun, the place is quite spacious so good for a stroll. If you lived in this area, don’t miss this special place, which will give you a different memory of Paris.

Cool spot to stop at. You can tell there were some epic performances in this amphitheater. Safe, and plenty of gardens to explore. Great way to spend 30 mins in Paris!

This is an extremely cool Roman amphitheater, hidden under your nose in the middle of Paris. Anyone who enjoys history would like it. There's no fee, and it's like a park. According to the plaque, the cages once held gladiators and wild animals used to entertain the crowd. Amazing how the old blends with the new in Paris.

A Parisian landmark. A Roman amphitheater hides a stone's throw from Contrescarpe Square, right next to the Monge metro station, Line 7, surrounded by trees. Another Roman legacy, another monument saved by Victor Hugo. That part of Latin Quarter worth a visit. Just a 5-minute walk away, you can admire the Moorish architecture of the Grand Mosque of Paris. A place that's recall Alhambra.

There is some serenity in the place. "Arènes de Lutèce", means "Arenas of Lutetia", Paris was known as Lutetia at some point in history. It is a Roman amphitheatre, and the oldest structure from ancient times in Paris. It was discovered around 150-160 years earlier. Imagine the place and the fact that it is well preserved. I like strolling through the arena and the small steps leading to the sitting area.

If you are on your way to the Jardin de Plantes (highly recommended), definitely stop by this gem. It turns out on May 1st the garden is gorgeous. One issue I have is I can’t tell which part of the ruin is Roman and which part is later added from the signs there

Nice little park to relax on a bench. Fun fact. It gets its name from Lutetia, the ancient name of Paris during Roman times. It can be very easy to miss and is not visible from the street. Look for the sign through a doorway.

Really good place to visit and have a good Time. U can play many games here. Just bring your sports buddy. The flower garden is really unique. It has many types of beautiful flowers which you don't see commonly. The bee's and 🦋 on the flowers makes this place heaven for plant lovers. This place also has a playground for kids. While u watch natural beauty, your kids can also have fun.

Very cool that this has been preserved, and a great space to relax (or play pétanque). More information about the amphitheatre (eg how it was used in Roman times, or how it was rediscovered and restored) would complete the experience.

Very cool ancient arena for gladiatorial combat. Walk ways are slick when wet. There are police patrolling the area which is good because there were also 1-2 homeless people sneaking around. Absolutely worth seeing if you are nearby. You can see the entire place in 5-10 minutes.

This unexpected Roman amphitheater is nestled within a Parisian neighborhood, with apartment buildings overlooking its expanse. Situated on the outskirts of the historic Roman settlement in this notable city from the Roman era. During my visit it was being used by school children enjoying sporting activities and locals just relaxing.

Nice place to hang out with friends or locals and play Pétanque. Very nice buildings all around too and kind of cooler vibe when it’s warm outside. Not too crowded almost at all times it seems. Really worth checking out if you are in the neighborhood.

Amazing hidden gem in the middle of Paris. A lovely park for soccer, benches for picnics with wine and cheese, and be sure to see the gates on the bottom which used to hold Lions!

Beautiful, quaint neighbourhood around the oldest ruins in Paris. People use the old arena to play fotball, boules or to just hang out. The garden around it is lush and soothing, making it a perfect hideaway if you need it.

If you want to avoid the overcrowded touristic places go to the Arenes one of the most old places of Paris built by the Romans. You will get a real Parisians Sunday vibe on the weekend

It's ok to check it out if it's on your way to something else, otherwise I wouldn't put it on a list if you are on a tight schedule

Very cool. One of the oldest places in Paris, if not THE oldest. 1st century AD. It used to be much taller and housed double the population of the city at the time (I snooped in on a guide talking about it). I wish there was more information made available to guests, especially in other languages. Otherwise this is a cool place to visit and see while in Paris. It’s not very aesthetic but you can walk around inside and on the seating benches.

Beautiful hidden place close to the Panthéon. Perfect for reading a book or to make your thoughts wander away. Open and sunny banks 360-degrees so you can turn around along with the sunshine.

One of the few great archeological sites in the area that date back to Roman times. It was fun to visualize actors and gladiators performing for a huge crowd. I would give more stars if there had been more interpretive signage. I had to search online for details.

Beautiful, calm, open space. One of my favorite places in Paris. The streets that wind and thr growth around the arena are, as well, beautiful and calming. Great for walks and exploring. Lots of shade to escape to on a summer's day.

Restored with approximations, les Arènes de Lutece still represent one of the few remaining landmarks of the ancient city.

Not completely still in “ruins” condition due to some repairs for better functionality and a little smaller than I expected after being to Rome. However, a wonderful place for a rest, a picnic, a game of pétanque, or pitching practice.

A nice place to go have your lunch sitting on the gallery and overlooking the locals going at it with their petanque rituals

This old Roman arena is a fine quiet spot in a busy area. Although rebuilt, it gives you a good impression how things were in Roman times.
