😠 Good food, beautiful view and good yoga classes and guides. Very expensive. Bad management; talked to us about us coming on WhatsApp and were surprised when we arrived, had a tarot workshop after some yoga and we weren’t told it’s extra (we weren’t the only ones surprised..) they did give us a disco... People often mention yoga, Yoga, Forest, time, staff, experience, retreat, classes, beautiful, amazing,

Good food, beautiful view and good yoga classes and guides. Very expensive. Bad management; talked to us about us coming on WhatsApp and were surprised when we arrived, had a tarot workshop after some yoga and we weren’t told it’s extra (we weren’t the only ones surprised..) they did give us a discount for it but we wouldn’t have taken it if we knew it’s extra.. Showers are mild with a weak stream and were too exposed.. food is only two meals a day (was sufficient for some but we were hungry..) overall a good experience but the hiccups gave it all a bad aftertaste. Edit: forgot to mention during some of the yoga practices we had construction sounds all over the place.. as for the workshop, we were not told in any stage that the workshop had an extra cost but were only told Carlos would tell us more about it. We are very aware of our budget, we made an exception and felt our expectations weren’t met.. the one star review is definitely emotional but i don’t see a reason why a review shouldn’t be based on what we felt. Thank you very much for having us.

I had a good time at The Yoga Forest but it would have been much better as a non vegan. I personally would not return to this retreat. While booking my stay I could choose the option "vegan" in a dropdown which obviously made me very happy. However, actually receiving vegan meals was not as easy unfortunately. EACH meal I was brought a plate with eggs or cheese on it. The first time I even ate half of it before realizing it was not vegan because I trusted the place to be informed about my ethical and dietary status. From the first day on then I had to ask every time "Is this vegan?" to receive the answer "no". They then brought my plate back to the kitchen and I had to wait for another 10 minutes while everyone else already started eating. Unfortunately, this was not everything. For a yoga retreat, I would expect to limit the suffering of other beings to a minimum. But I got disappointed here as well: In one of the rooms there was a cow skin carpet and the covers we used during savasana were (I think) made out of wool. But the worst for me were the candles: Every evening the staff would light candles all over the place and it truly looked beautiful. However, the candles were full of dead insects. Once alight, insects would fly into the flames and die. When I pointed this out I just received a shrug as if this was nothing. This could be so easily fixed my placing the candles into lanterns. I was constantly confronted with death and animal exploitation at this place and could therefore not enjoy my yoga retreat as I would have liked it. As a yogi we should always try to minimize harm, but this place definitely has not understood this yet. In my opinion, the owner is not a real yogi herself and the food is only vegetarian because of the aryuvedic medicine often linked to yoga, but not out of personal beliefs. And on another anecdote: One of the teachers got fired during my stay because she had a dog, a hairless (therefore no issues with allergies) and very well-trained dog, who everyone who met her loved. In my opinion the owner is not even vegetarian and doesn't really like animals. A no-go for any vegan.

Food and yoga classes were both excellent. Nice view from forest cabin 2 and bedding is soft and comfy. Showers are chilly but you warm up quick in the sun after. Composting toilets work fine and I never had to wait long for my turn. Woke up to sounds of chainsaws in the morning. I wish there were 3 meals instead of 2 but they sell sweets and smoothies if you get hungry. Budget time to get up there! It’s a mini trek. Air feels good up there but I’ll probably stay right on the lake next time.

Great views to the lake and volcanos - 10min hike from the main back road (trail starts next to the supermarket, no indication) - beautiful space with all the necessary equipment. Calm and relaxing up there.

After a Yoga Class, we took two pieces of cake. The cake was o.k. but i forgot to ask for the price in advance of ordering. In the end we had to pay 15$u.s. (120q) for two slice of carrot cake. I didn’t expect to have the most expensive cake of my life in the middle of nowhere. Sorry, but those prices just left us feeling scammed.

While we stayed, we stayed in the semi-private room. This room is very disappointing comparing to how much you’re paying😔â˜č we payed just like our friends and they got a private room. We had 10 big spiders in our room, but really big ones that we couldn’t sleep with. Also, the semi private room is right underneath the yoga studio (which we were aware of before getting there), we know that will have noise during the day since 6:30 until the night, but our real issue that one of the guides came to us at 6:30 in the morning, and asked us to be quiet IN OUR OWN ROOM and asked us “kindly” to leave for somewhere else because there’s many common areasđŸ˜ĄđŸ˜€ for us it was really disappointing because we payed a lot to stay there and we were asked to leave the one private place we have. Nevertheless we were in an intimate situation when we came (it’s 6:30 in the morning!) Another thing is that one of the staff (one of the girls) was not nice and it just ruined the “yoga” vibes that this places try to show it has. Other things, the place is basically braking, the floor next to our room was constantly falling, tons of bugs inside and outside the room, and meals which are not enough. In opposite to all of that, the yoga classes are incredible and Elena the teacher is absolutely amazing!!!♄

Amazing views, friendly staff, good yoga classes. Make sure you do a recce the day before the place is not easy to find. Follow the painted flowers left on the trail. It is about 20mins walk from the town center.

Really special place - you’re enveloped in nature and there’s so much beauty and space (the pictures don’t do it justice). I’ve never done a retreat nor really any yoga at all before and the staff was really accommodating and no pressure to push to exceed your limitations/comfort with yoga nor upsell you anything. Food was great and surprisingly two meals was plenty filling. The cabins were very comfortable and cleaned daily, nice mattresses, nice towels, and the shared bathrooms and showers had some of the best views of nature in the entire place. The yoga teachers were all really high quality, they were very helpful to a beginner like me while challenging the more experienced members of the class. Really loved my experience here.

Couldn't have hoped for a better yoga retreat! The location is stunning, nestled higher up along the mountains around lake Atitlan, just 15 minutes above San Marcos. The teachers and hosts are all kind and excellent at what they do, really helping you slow down, disconnect and enjoy your time there with the different ceremonies, treatments, rituals and classes offered. You don't even need to already be familiar with yoga at all, you really just need to be ready to try it out and they'll guide you through the experience. Can't thank the staff enough for our time there! And the food is incredibly delicious too. Highly recommend to anyone looking to take it easy for a bit, would love to return!

LOOK NO FURTHER - THIS IS THE BEST WELLNESS RETREAT My husband and I (married couple from the US in our early 30s) are currently backpacking our way around central and South America. We decided to book one week/ 7 nights in a cabin at the Yoga Forest during our travels in Guatemala - and WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID! This place is absolutely magical - a heaven we feel so lucky to have lived and grown in for a week of our travels. The wellness team/ offerings makes this place way more than a yoga retreat
Wellness- Yoga/ Meditation: If you are considering yoga classes and or a retreat in general look no further than here - the wellness staff/ instructors at the yoga forest are the best in the business. The yoga classes were the most incredible my husband and I have ever taken (including many classes all over the US and Costa Rica). During our stay we were able to try so many different yoga styles and instructors. We absolutely fell in love with Ashtanga yoga (Carlos/ Elena), and were soothed and inspired by the restorative/ hatha classes (Sanne, Robin, Mercedes). The meditation classes were the most incredible we have ever taken. We left the forest invigorated to continue to explore further our yoga and meditation practices. Wellness - Workshops/ Ceremonies: Every day during our stay did we not only have the option of two yoga and one meditation class but also several wellness services and daily afternoon workshops (ranging from womb dance, to breath work, and so much more). We attended an amazing sound bath, unique and beautifully done with a saxophone (Ariel Sax) in which both of us left feeling deeply relaxed and in awe of Ariel’s talents. Wellness - Services: We both took advantage of the Ayurvedic Massage and Reiki Healing sessions on different afternoons and cannot recommend these wellness add ons enough. The Reiki Healing sessions (which begins with massage) with Sanne allowed us to more deeply connect with ourselves and each other and ignited my interest in chakras. While the Ayurvedic Massage (Isabina) worked out our sore Ashtanga muscles and was unique in its inclusion of the traditional Mayan abdominal massage. Wellness - Temezcal/ Cocao Ceremonies: You absolutely cannot miss out of Carlos/ Elena’s Temezcal and Cacao ceremonies. These are two amazing opportunities to immerse yourself in the beautiful Mayan culture, traditions and beliefs and learn deeply about yourself. We will never forget these two experiences, nor what we learned about ourselves because of them. Food: We love to eat and the food at the forest (two hearty vegetarian meals a day) left us beyond satisfied/ full. My husband is not vegetarian and was very happy with all meals despite this. The chefs here are remarkable - they truly make magical vegetarian meals - so much so we asked for the menu/ recipes upon our departure so we could try to replicate them at home. Cabin/ Facilities: Our forest cabin, as well as the shower and toilet, had the most stunning view of the lake and volcanoes. We were able to watch sunset and sunrise from our cabins bed and hammock as we read and wound down for bed or woke up. It’s a view I will remember always. Be sure to make your way to San Marcos and up to the Yoga Forest - say hi to Robin, Carlos, Elena, Sanne, and Mercedes - you will not be sorry!

My stay at the Yoga Forest happened due to the Yoga Teacher Training 200hr with Kula collective. After a little hike up to the forest the entire group of Yogis was received in the most welcoming way. Every day here is a bliss. I was waking up with the most beautiful view over the lake, i did not even have to leave my bed in order to see it. The staff is super sweet and preparing the most delicious food every day. Fire ceremonys, Kirtan, Massage, Reiki, Yoga classes... the list for reasons to come here is endless, and so is my love to this amazing place! Thanks to everyone who participated in this journey here and for all the people helping to make this place to what it is!

A place of Great Spirit, resonance, embodiment, where I feel into my natural state of being, again and again. The accommodations are comfortable and clean, while remaining in touch with their natural surroundings. Delicious and nutritious food, and the staff are friendly and warm. Highly recommend for anyone looking to feel into their natural state of being.

Stayed there for a little over a week for a BreathCamp retreat. Such a beautiful place. Away from town which was really nice and truly in nature. The brunch and dinners the kitchen prepared had a great variety. I stayed in the room below the yoga shala and truly felt like it had the most amazing view and there was an electrical outlet! It was cool to be able to explore the Yoga Forest without an agenda there is a lovely setting at every turn. Cindy the manager was SO accommodating, she helped me arrange so many things. Also Lucas, the Yoga Forest driver drove me from the airport to the Yoga Forest and I requested him again on the way back. He was AMAZING! Safe courteous driver. The yoga instructors Johnny and Virginia were amazing! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!! I highly recommend!

An absolute slice of heaven. I spend 10 days/2 weeks there last May and they were some of the best in my life. When you do the little hike up for the first time you might be in agony, even if you’re fit, because of the altitude. Every time you go to town and get back up, it gets way easier! Their website has all the details, which is really helpful. I was there on an organized retreat but we had a chance to attend some of the Yoga Forest classes and their teachers are great! The food is amazing, though I did get sick once or twice (I believe my stomach wasn’t used to the water around the lake area, for that I recommend you buy Microcosmo, a potent liquid probiotic, from town and I promise it’ll save you). The staff is super friendly, too and they have a great shop where you might spend more money than you thought you would! I did a massage with Robin and that was a phenomenal experience rather than just a massage. She’s extremely intuitive and highly attuned and it wasn’t just her hands that were at work but also her words and her whole being. She did move so much energy for me and I wish I could go back and do it again. Lastly, I was there during the rainy season and the solar-heated showers are only warm around noon, so bedtime shower-takers like myself will not love it but I mean everything else makes it worth changing your shower time! I will definitely be back!

I was at the Yoga Forest in March 2019. I stayed in a private cabin for four nights, and I wish I had booked it for longer. The experience is exactly as advertised, a real off the grid living experience. The daily schedule is exactly what a yogi or aspiring yogi would want. The facility is beautiful, set in the mountain overlooking the lake and volcanoes. I definitely plan on going back the next chance I get. Room accommodations: Bare but very comfortable with gorgeous views of Lake Atitlan Food: All vegetarian and excellent. The staff makes accommodations for special dietary needs like 'vegan' or 'dairy free'. Before arriving I had never eaten vegetarian for longer than a day but I really enjoyed the food. Staff: By far MY FAVORITE part of the experience. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Had excellent yoga classes, massage, and ayurvedic wellness consultations. And they are just great people to be around. Yoga and Activities: The yoga classes are excellent, taught by experienced instructors who are conscious of all skill levels. The yoga studio overlooks the lake, and I cannot think of a better place on earth to practice. I did rock climbing which is on site, just a 5 minute walk to the rock face! I highly recommend that experience. The massages are excellent and cheap relative to the U.S. prices. Responding to bad reviews I've read: Some of the negative reviews from March 2019 were written by people who were guests at the same time I was. I spent time with them during my stay and listened to them complain about the facility and staff, all while I was absolutely loving my experience in the exact same facility. One must understand that this location is not for everyone. It is difficult to reach, off the grid, mostly outdoor living. Think of it as yoga camp. The authors of those reviews clearly came to the Forest with a different expectation of luxury, and were never able to adapt. Many of them were beginner yogis with little interest in actually practicing yoga or journeying toward mindfulness. But, like all negative reviews, they have some merit. If you are someone who does not like practicing yoga and leading a healthy lifestyle in a beautiful outdoor location, you probably shouldn't book a trip to a remote, outdoor yoga retreat.

I recently experienced five incredible days at the Yoga Forest at San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala. The setting was breathtaking--in a tropical mountain forest overlooking beautiful Lake Atitlan, surrounded by volcanoes. The yoga and meditation sessions were transformative and meaningful. The instructors were vastly knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and happy to work with everyone at his or her level, whether a novice like me or experienced. I would like to give a special shout out to Carlos, Elena, and Michael, for bringing warmth, humor, beauty and genuine love for the practice to all they do. Finally, the vegetarian meals were incredibly delicious, healthy and filling. I wish I could eat this way at home. A few words of caution: to visit, you must be able and willing to undertake a somewhat steep 20-minute hike to reach the Yoga Forest (porters are available to carry up luggage), to handle lots of steps and on the short trails between the cabins and other facilities, and to use eco-friendly composting toilets (actually easier to get used to than I expected). It's absolutely worth it. My visit to the Yoga Forest will stay with me for years to come.

I only came to do yoga there The lesson was very nice and for all levels (90min) for my it’s pricy compared to the country we are at
and 30 min is only relaxing They don’t tell you but we have to climb like 20 min to get there! I came sweating!! And there are no signs on the way :)

It was the most beautiful week & exceeded all of my expectations. Peaceful, calm - it provided me with an opportunity to reflect & breath. The yoga was perfect for me - each teacher brought their own personality to the practice & they were knowledgeable & generous. The food is wonderfully fresh & varied. I had no stomach issues! My cabin spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed, lovely bedding & a balcony with hammock that I took advantage of each afternoon. The location is very special & I didn't venture from the place all week - content to look at the views, listen to nature & relax. Other guests were friendly & respectful. Compost toilets & showers worked for me & the shower & loo that I frequented had the most incredible views of the lake. I left feeling recharged & believing that it's a once a year trip from now on. Very special. Thank you to all of the staff for making it a special week.

My best friend and I had the most incredible and tranquil experience at The Yoga Forest. The location is beautiful. We stayed in Cielo, which was beautiful and had a big balcony we enjoyed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I especially connected with Carlos and Elena. I highly recommend attending ceremonies and wellness treatments with them. Their yoga classes were also my favorite. Their energy is so positive and kind. The food was the best vegetarian food I have had. Thank you to the wonderful ladies that prepared it daily. I also loved there were different herbal teas to drink daily. The only part that was a bit uncomfortable were the bugs at night. There were a lot of big bugs we saw in the washrooms and in our room. However, given where we were, it was expected and it did not take away from the amazing experience. Thank you to the entire Yoga Forest team and I hope to visit again.

Beautiful location, fantastic yoga classes and magical accomodation. Food was amazing, but its two meals a day and the snacks available are expensinsive so might be worth bringing your own. I also got food poisoning on the last day which was a bit of a downer.

This was such an incredible retreat, from the yoga to the facilities to staff to food and beyond. The space felt relaxing, spiritual, natural, welcoming and inspiring. Twice daily yoga, meditation, twice daily remarkable meals, and additional services available if you choose. The space itself is dropped into the forest, and allows you necessary ability to step away from the world for a bit. Not only would I highly recommend this to anyone, I plan on returning. A truly special place that exceeded all expectations.

NAMASTAY SOMEWHERE ELSE Review of The Yoga Forest Pending review From the moment we made it to T.YF. it was chaotic, unorganized and on a scale of unprofessional that I have never experienced. I thought of writing a detailed list of my experience but after reading low rating reviews dating back to 2013, I've noticed that the replies from T.Y.F. somehow makes the customer feel it's their fault that their stay was unpleasant. I will say that I left my 7 day retreat with a much better mindset and felt renewed, ONLY because of our retreat leader Jenna Lomazzo and ONLY because of her. She handled everything with such grace. My advice to all who are planning a retreat DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON WHERE YOU ARE STAYING. My advice to The Yoga Forest, you should buck up and buy Emily Post book of The Etiquette Advantage In Business and have your ever revolving staff read it and learn how to just be pleasant to others. The sense of community that was boasted on the website was not there. The entire website is just misleading. Peace in chaos, Maria

THE YOGA FOREST is perfectly situated to hold space for rest, relaxation, communion with Nature, nourishment of body-mind-spirit, creative inspiration, and deep transformational work. Nestled in a permaculture food forest, amidst the volcanoes of Lake Atitlan, with an epic view - The Yoga Forest is built upon integrity, love, and respect for Mother Nature’s rhythms. It is felt in every detail. I’ve been back twice for retreat experiences (Release & Manifest / Sound Ceremony Training), and also spent some days there in personal retreat. While the steep footpath up the hills from San Marcos, compost toilets, outdoor shower, and absence of wifi and electricity in the accommodations may deter some from visiting the Forest - for me it was the perfect opportunity to disconnect from the busyness of modern life, and reconnect with the deep wisdom of the forest. I feel lovingly held here, but not coddled. The perfect blend of cozy comforts and spaciousness to step outside of my comfort zones. Oh, and the food - deliciously plant-powered nutrition! Yum! I can’t wait to return!

The Yoga Forest is very well located in the middle of the jungle and with an amazing view over Lake Atitlan and the volcanos. We stayed in a double cabin which was very cozy and thought fully furnished. The bed was quite comfortable and we spent a lot of time hanging out on the terrace. Our personal pet cat visited us every day to cuddle. We really enjoyed the yoga classes with different teachers. All of them had a special style which helped us to get an insight on the variety of yoga movements. We especially liked the song ceremony which takes place every Tuesday. The food is prepared freshly every day and is tasty and lean. The is always water and tea available. For some extra money you can get coffee, chocolate and other sweets. Showers and toilets are great and open air. There is no internet which is part of the philosophy of the place. We leave this place very relaxed and full of new impressions. We would definitely recommend this retreat and will surely come back.

My review is not a good one for this business, let me start by saying I went on what I expected to be a beautiful relaxing 7 day yoga retreat with 8 wonderful people. However, after making the 4.5 hour car ride that was awful(yoga forest arranged) no AC car fumes in your face, the driver was driving fast and wreckless nearly running people over hugging corners and throwing me all over the car , I had severe back pain I had to get a massage the next day! We Finally made it at the bottom which now was a mile hike up hill-we later found out from a local that a taxi can drive up halfway then drop us off making the hike in half the time, so why wasn’t this told to us?? We finally make it up the steps and we were not greeted offered glass of water basically here is your room and use your headlamp so you don’t fall off the cliff in the compete darkness??!! Seriously!? The host of my yoga retreat Host many retreats around the world, and she is wonderful however, she was treated so poorly she brought 8 people adding a high amount of revenue to this establishment in a short amount of time! There were no accommodations they kicked her out of the room that she was in moved her around because of their mistake & put her in a tent when she rented the private venue for the week to privately teach her yoga and host her group, instead they double booked the space, and kicked her out??!! Why didn’t she stay in the area she already paid for instead she was moved around to end up in a tent!!! Seriously!?!?! There was zero accommodations, when I asked for an extra pillow it was like asking for $1million dollars they were confused why I requested it!? Needless to say this was not the experience that I planned, and paid for to have a wonderful yoga relaxing retreat!! The office girl Michelle was so rude unprofessional they we’re not friendly the yoga instructors were so snotty it was like a 25-year-old click(made me very uncomfortable) it was the most unprofessional situation I have ever been into, and I would never ever recommend nor would I ever go back to this establishment!!! They try to claim free, and natural love nature blah blah blah this is all about $$$$$$ these Guatemala people work so hard and are completely underpaid!!! Positive: clean excellent vegan prepared meals Beautiful views

The Yoga Forest is a beautiful sanctuary in the hills up above San Marcos. The food here is always delicious, vegetarian, and prepared fresh daily by local women. The staff lead classes daily and there are a number of wellness offerings for the guests. Hot herbal tea and water always on the table, and some of the best views in the valley.

❀ My stay here has been divine! I've spent a week at the YF and it's gone by too quickly. It's such a beautiful space and you can see how much love and care goes into it every day. :) this place is great if you need to relax, spend some time in self-reflection, practice some yoga, be in nature, eat incredible vegetarian food, have an incredible view, or be in community! The staff is super helpful and caring and it was a joy to interact with them and practice my Spanish. If you're coming here, definitely consider bringing a power bank and a headlight/flashlight! It's solar powered so energy isn't always available. No wifi either, which was a huge advantage to me :) bug spray is a must too! Basically, as long as you accept that you're really out in nature here, you'll have an amazing time. I have so much love and gratitude for these people and for all that they do here. Thank you for bringing some more beauty into the world :)

i did a 3 night personal retreat here and had a wonderful experience. i bought the wellness revive package and did one massage, one energy work session and one private yoga session. i got to work with 3 different members from the wellness and each one was excellent and truly cared about their work and my well being. the site itself is stunning - when i wasnt attending a yoga class or eating the delicious clean food, i wandered around and relaxed in the hammocks, meditated while gazing over the lake, and simply enjoying the feeling of being in nature. thanks so much guys!

Had the most beautiful experience at Yoga Forest. Woke up each morning to sunrise from bed, beautiful classes and meditation and the most amazing Kirtan experience. Its a short walk out of town which is lovely for peace and tranquility and the sounds of birdlife. Highly recommend. My stay was too short. Go for at least a week! Date of stay: April 2019

The Yoga Forest went above and beyond my expectations! I stayed there for a total of 7 days and I can honestly say that each day was filled with such incredible beauty. It was here that I found my inner strength and peace, and I will forever be grateful for what the gifts and virtues I received from the people at the Yoga Forest. If you are ever lucky enough to make your way to this special and powerful place, your body, heart, mind and soul will forever live in deep, deep gratitude. Thanks for everything YF, I hold you and everyone there, in a special place within my heart. Aho.

I don’t even know how to put this place in words! The retreat I attended at the Yoga Forest was completely life-changing. The accommodations are exquisite and comfortable. The views...STUNNING. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated. Ricardo, especially, assisted our retreat group. He led two potent cacao ceremonies for us as well as a private Voice Activation. These were incredibly healing and left me feeling expansive and connected to myself. Ricardo also helped me to get in touch with a local shaman for a Mayan astrology reading—which was so insightful and helped me a lot. The three shalas are all stunning and magickal in their own special way! The meals were divine, the Mayan women put so much love and care into the food. I felt so nourished and energized. The YF also offers a variety of wellness services, excursions and community events which are all so incredible, unique and healing. This place is truly something special...the views are out of this world amazing, and the energy of the land is infused in every moment spent here. Can’t wait to go back and visit the amazing individuals I connected with so deeply in such a short time.

My time at the Yoga Forest was more incredible than I could have ever imagined. I have been to several retreats around the world and I must say that I was SO impressed by the views of Yoga Forest, the commitment to comfortable sustainability, and the wellness staff. I stayed in Lakshmir Cabina, a hike up the mountain from the main common space of the center and I was comfortable, the space was always clean, and the VIEW was magnificent --- and I really had a great workout from hiking to my room everyday! At night, we could clearly see the volcano across the lake erupting! Truly raw magnificent elemental energy! There were two retreats happening at the same time, which at first I was unsure of how it was going to work with so many people going through different deep experiences all in the same place. In the end, I felt comfortable around the people from the other retreat and also that there was enough space to keep our distance when needed. The wellness support staff that stood out the most for me and my group was Ricardo Mones who was a facilitator for Cacao Ceremonies, a Sound Ceremony Healer in private and group sessions, and the guest relations manager who we could turn to for logistical questions. He is kind, reliable, and a true light in this world. To have this kind of masculine support during a women's retreat was incredibly valuable and influential to our whole group. Thank you Ricardo! We loved that we were able to attend the community events at The Yoga Forest like the Kirtans and the morning meditations. However, sometimes during our big releases during our retreat we felt that the coordination of events could improve. There were a few times our facilitator was leading us through huge releases with our voices and bodies while the community was doing Yoga Nidras in the nearest yoga studio..... haha not really the ideal pairing of events on the same property. But most of the time, all was in alignment. All in all, I have been completely moved by my experience both through participating in the ReWild Retreat with Jessica Roodvoets enhanced by the fact that we were at and supported by the Yoga Forest! I will be actively following the Yoga Forest and I hope to visit for a retreat, Sound Ceremony training, or a Kirtan in the future!!

A really great experience. The food itself is worth the price, and the yoga was all a great mix of styles. The environment is amazing and the beds are super comfy. If you’re 50/50 you should defs do it.

This stunning location is pure, divine magic. I loved every moment at The Yoga Forest. It was lovely being immersed in the forest on the mountain. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the view of the lake and the volcano was incredible! My room was cozy, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly and the yoga/ceremony spaces were perfect. I intend to return again!

The Yoga Forest is an absolute raw jewel in the middle of high mountains in San Marcos. The view is extraordinary. What I ve loved the most is a lovely staff who is so loving and focused to make the place a great paradise. The ambiance is gentle and warm. Not to mention the energy and vibration that is very high and serve the purpose of transformational retreats. It's all about service, peace and magical connection to Nature. The experience helps you to be back to what is essential. I will be back!

(Translated by Google) Yoga Forest has been one of the most special experiences I've had in my life! The rooms, common spaces, food, teachers, stuff, classroom spaces, etc. are totally top. Every detail taken care of to the maximum, which makes for a unique atmosphere. There are two rooms for meditation classes and both are exceptional, totally immersed in nature, which makes it a more authentic experience. Apart from the included classes, there is the possibility of doing other activities among which I could enjoy a ceremony of cocoa and sound (It was something that is difficult to explain but that is one of the most beautiful moments in a long time), and Kirtan. In my case I was in a bedroom, it was clean every day, I had views of the lake and the Acatenango, Fuego, Toliman, Atitlan and San Pedro volcanoes, where I woke up every day with that beauty in front of the eyes and the sound of the birds singing at dawn. Definitivamente voy a volver

The revive package is a true gift to reconnect with yourself, to be in the presence of the most loving people, being treated with heavenly food and blissfull massages in the middle of powerful natural scenery and stunning views. I loved it so much, came back the week after for a full week stay in a private cabin surrounded by birds! The yoga classes are professional guided with so much care on each level of practice. Yin Yoga class at 4 pm is my favourite with Antonia or Nea. Ricardo is a star guiding in savasana with live guitar music and his pure vocals. So worth it to wake up early and start the day with meditation next to the waterfall in shiva shala. Definetly recommend the Kirtan on Tuesdays 3 pm, the repetition of the mantras together and using your voice is such a profound expression and expansion. I love that the Kirtans are created based on donation for a local community. Another must do is the cacao ceremony with Jaya. His humor and art in music is transcending beyond. After we finished the circle we found ourselves watching the volcano errupting, glowing red lava sliding down, and above a natural thunderlight show, one in a life time experience! Also the sauna is a super plus in this rainy season to heat up and profound the detoxing process. Another extra is the mayan astrology reading with Izaias and the paddle boarding with Jonas who can tell you lots about the history of the lake Atitlan. In short, all my gratefullness to the yoga forest tribe for holding such loving space and creating this temple of joy and happiness.

The Yoga Forest is a beautiful space filled with wonderful people: a chance to disconnect while tuning into what's most important. The views of Lake AtitlĂĄn are stunning and the cabins are comfortable and homely. From the moment you arrive, Ricardo, Nia & the entire wellness staff make you feel at home, answering any questions and getting you orienting you with the property. The morning yoga classes are vinyasa style and the afternoon classes are yin & restorative: pairing together for a perfect balance. The lovely kitchen staff prepare three wholesome family-style vegetarian meals per day, all of which were delicious. Highly recommend this space & can't wait to return!

I had an incredible time at the yoga Forrest. The view was breathtaking. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the food was great and I was able to get coffee and chocolate. I had two of the best massages of my life here. Went to my first sound ceremony and cocoa ceremony, which was exceptional. I’d highly recommend going.

I dropped in for a yoga class, and I have to say that Kawoq is miles above anything else in San Marcos. Incredible structures, thoughtful spaces, integration with nature, great-smelling food, and friendly staff are a small indication of what they are trying to do here. It is one of the few spaces in town that feels like an authentic experience instead of the rest of the spiritual profiteering machines churning out top-dollar promises of enlightenment to slews of soulpreneurs. That being said, although the instructor was wonderful, 150 Quetzales is not exactly an affordable price for a once-off yoga class. San Marcos is much more expensive than the rest of Atitlan. Finding Kawoq the first time can be tough. If you are reading this... please update your signs along the way. Something in bamboo and rock to match the experience you offer could be a nice touch.
