Mama Carrie at Twisted is hands down the best in town, have been going to her for three years now. Not just your average cut. What would be going for a normal day at the hair salon is transformed into fun afternoon of positive vibes and fun, have a glass of wine (or 3), a bite to eat, chat with new friends in the cafe. Her prices are very reasonable and never disappoints. 100% recommended :)

Oh my goodness, where to start! Went in to get the hubby's haircut and Carrie is an amazingly talented stylist, for one. Two, the energy/vibe in the salon and restaurant are a place you just want to hang out at all day. And three, THE FOOD! We ate a fantastic breakfast burrito and had some of the best coffee we have had in Antigua. Love, love, love this place and it is going to be a regular hangout now for us, for sure. Marcela did such a fabulous job with my pedicure. Honestly, it was by far the best I've had all year. I have had my nails done in Argentina, Guatemala, México, and the US this year and no one spent as much time and attention as she did. My feet were absolutely pampered.

I felt welcome from the moment I came in. Was offered a drink and had a nice talk before my haircut. Marco cut my hair exactly how I wanted and the overall atmosphere was just great :)

I was surprised by the negative experience I had, having read so many positive reviews on here, which prompted me to go. My haircut lasted 20 minutes, the hairdresser didn’t wash or even wet my hair before cutting, and kept talking about how dry and damaged it was. Not the confidence boost I was expecting after reading the reviews - maybe she was having a bad day? In addition to leaving with a very disappointing haircut, she also tried to overcharge me, asking for more than what she had quoted earlier when I booked the appointment. Safe to say, I didn’t pay the higher price and certainly wouldn’t go back.

Excellent place to get a haircut, have a snack, a few beers and wine. I'd say the best place to get a haircut in Antigua. Also a bonus is Chef's Daughter has moved into the space so you can get an excellent/healthy meal. I highly recommend

Twisted Scissors is the most magical hairdresser I've ever been to! Carrie is such a genius with all things hair-related and does an incredible job of finding the best styles for your hair to look its absolute greatest. Every time I'm in Antigua I can guarantee I'll be paying a visit to Carrie because she makes my hair look PHENOMENAL, and in turn, I feel sexy again. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment ASAP.

I had a wonderful time hanging out with Carrie & crew while getting my hair done. Carrie is very talented and knowledgeable about her craft and I'm very happy with how my cut and color turned out. I appreciate how she asks what you're wanting/looking for and then makes recommendations on what would work best with your hair type, face shape, etc. based on her professional opinion. She also prioritizes the health of your hair, which is very important in a hairdresser! The environment is very relaxed and open. Be prepared to have some fun if you book an appointment here!

Awesome vibe! My daughter loved her highlights & received several compliments already. I got my eyebrows tinted and they turned out FABULOUS! Cool spot-loved the entrepreneurial spirit. There are several booths and displays filled with innovative ideas and products. Will return for sure!

The Market at Twisted Scissors is so awesome. Such unique, interesting items and all at fair prices. I love the Paca and used clothes. A fun place to meet people and share stories. Very inviting place to stop by enjoy.

Carrie did an amazing job, my hair has never looked better or healthier. I loved the fact it was a dry cut and she was able to shape with my natural curls. Loved her complete honesty with how much of my hair needed to go. She was incredibly welcoming and was able to do my hair as I walked in! Her enthusiasm for her son was also absolutely adorable. The receptionist is also stunningly gorgeous with a very cute hat. Couldn’t have loved the staff more! Improved my whole day by 1000%! - one slight sadness in that I booked a lash tint for the morning and the lady was running a little late and I therefore couldn’t get it done. But I met her the day prior and she seemed really lovely and did me a patch test. No complaints as I know everyone has days where they’re behind schedule <3

Carrie is amazing!! It is the first time in my life that I loved my haircut after the very first visit. She knows her trade very well and after I briefly explained what I wanted, she took it from there. I immediately felt comfortable with her and was so pleased with both my haircut and colour. I highly recommend her.

Amazing experience!! Carrie made me feel welcomed and understood for the very beginning of the appointment. I cut my hair from very long to very short and she made the whole experience mega enjoyable. She made it clear that I could be honest with her and even come back if I wasn't satisfied with the results. But I loved my haircut from the very beginning. This place is the absolute best in Antigua. Marcella is so fantastic at what she does. She did my dreadlocks several months ago and just did a touch up today on them. She is so nice and so kind and man does she know her way around dreads. I won’t go anywhere else.

Carrie is AMAZING! I have to say this was one of the best haircuts I have ever received. I have curly/wavy hair and am always super nervous to have it cut, but Carrie knew exactly what she was doing and it came out amazing! I could not have been happier with how it turned out, and Carrie is such an awesome person I instantly fell in love with her vibe. 10/10 recommend if you are in Antigua. I only wish I lived here so she could always cut my hair.
