The place has a nice vibe and an amazing sea view. Has 2 terraces, one for drinking and one for dining. We were sceptic at first because the menu is quite overpriced for Essaouira, however we decided to stay and it was a good decision. The sea food pizza is absolutely delicious and quite big and big pieces of sea food. The mussels in wine were just OK. The chicken croquettes were good too. The staff is very kind, they will even go to buy you cigarettes if you ask nicely. Overall a good experience but they can improve on the price list.

I had an amazing experience at Il Mar restaurant in Essaouira! This place has an unbeatable location overlooking the beach and the sekkala, and the views are simply stunning. I truly don’t understand all the negative reviews about this restaurant! We went with a group of 9 and we went twice to this restaurant. Not because of the view but because of the kind and friendly staff and the food was very good!! In the evening we had live music and it was truly a nice experience. I DO recommend this restaurant and the beautiful view is just a bonus ;)

Got flagged down in the street by a man suggesting we visit this restaurant. Big terrace, but fully booked when we arrived so we sat inside. There was live music on, almost too loud for us to be honest. But most people were enjoying it and joining in. We had a couple of tagines, they were nice. Overall one of the nicer restaurants we visited in Essaouira

Our small tour group had a sunset dinner and drinks here, and we had a wonderful time! The live music was fabulous and we enjoyed the atmosphere as everyone joined us in celebrating two of our group members' birthdays. If you are looking for a lively, fun place to have dinner and enjoy excellent local live music, this is the place to go! The views from their terrace dining area are amazing too!

Memorable experience thanks to our excellent server Reda! From the moment we arrived he was warm, attentive and has a truly authentic kindness. Overall the restaurant has a great atmosphere with live music, beautiful view, great service and food. Quality of fish and how it was cooked was perfect but could use more spice and seasoning for our taste. They were able to offer some vegan options!

Great views just over sea wall, live music, local and more international dishes, lots of fish. I had a nice beef steak to make a change. Wine and beer. It's high tourists prices but that has to be expected. It takes credit cards. We paid 500dm to reserve an evening table on terrace when passing earlier in afternoon which was reassuring.

The view was beautiful and the service was top notch. The hostess and the waiter (Ali) were very proud of their restaurant and it was evident in their attention. We enjoyed the sea bass and seafood pasta very much.

The worst pizza I've ever had in my life. (I only ate the bread part) We ordered 4 pizzas and they were all bad. The cheese is very very bad, it was clearly not Mozarella. We ordered the 4 cheese gnocchi and it has no real cheese! The view is beautiful, but the quality of the food they served us is very bad.

Music and vibe were incredible at sunset. The food was even better- we had pizza and pasta. Don’t skip the dessert!

The food is ok, but the cocktails are rather awful. I mean they do put alcohol in and sometimes maybe too much, but the cocktails taste bad overall. Also, the tablecloths could be cleaner. But the views are amazing form the roof terrace!
