Disappointing Experience - Security Issues I recently visited this restaurant bar in Essaouira, excited to enjoy a dinner with entertainment. However, I was deeply disappointed by the experience. Upon arrival, I encountered a security situation that left a negative impression. The security personnel seemed more interested in accepting bribes than in ensuring a smooth and safe entrance for all patrons. As a visitor from Laayoune, I was looking forward to a pleasant evening, but the behavior of the security team tarnished my perception of the establishment. It's disheartening to see such practices in place, especially when seeking a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. I believe that a strong focus on customer service, safety, and integrity should be a priority for any business. Unfortunately, my encounter with the security personnel overshadowed any potential positive aspects of the evening. I hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these concerns to create a more welcoming and respectable environment for all visitors.

We went their for a dinner. It's multilevel space with a cocktail bar, restaurant zone and even a club with upstairs terrace. For the terrace it was too windy, as they are beach front, so we chose a cozy sofa in the restaurant room. Even if the chef is from Morocco, you can feel a French flavour in the dishes starting from the way it served to the amount of ingredients and souses used in each dish. We were met and welcomed. Our waiter spoke really good English. So, he explained all regarding the menu, because it was in French. They could have English version though. So, wine and water were served super fast, and then we waited for our dishes. Took a bit long to bring an appetizer (Crab tartar with avocado on brioche). Then we asked for medium rare steak meat, but got quite well-done, unfortunately. But crystal transparent ravioli from beetroot with tuna and goat cheese made our dinner! As well as Pavlova!!! One of the best Pavlovas we have ever tried. Excellent! All in all our experience in Le Taros restaurant was great, very pleasant and worth the money.

Tourist trap and overpriced bar with no service at all!! Do not go there! Prices are apparently not correct on menu card and they lie to customers. On Sunday during normal opening times 16.30-18.45 O'Clock I was sitting on the rooftop. You had to order your own drink while 8 waiters where standing doing little/nothing. First round of drinks, I could only chose from 3 cocktails. Fine by me. I had to pay directly as the waiter was ending his shift. Strange to tell this to customers making his problem mine, but okay. The prices where more expensive in the computer not same on menu card but okay I paid, can happen that menu is not updated. For the second round of drinks, I ordered again a cocktail. I waited for 55 min and in the meantime the waiter told me 3 different lies. 1. That is was busy and taking time. 2.That the orange juice was finished and that they need to get it at the shop. After this that he was making my cocktail. At the end I wanted to leave. They responded very rude.. Not saying anything. Turns out the new waiter only starts at 19 and nobody knew how to make a classic cocktail. Do not go there! Bad service!

Lovely place, great panoramic view. You have the entrance 150dh, but once you show the bartender the ticket they ask for more money for drinks. It’s either the bouncers are taking money or they are dumb and not able explain what’s included and what’s not. The worst that I didn’t appreciate is that one of the waiters asked me to change the table because it’s a table for 4 not one. However I consider that super rude and discriminating. I felt bad.

More suitable for westerners. There are plenty and variations of typical alcoholic drinks. A great mix between the Occident and the Orient. Original interior with typical Arabic seating and a fantastic view. Live band on site with more techno music. Chilling European young women. Several local room divisions, all open-air with sea view. Pleasantly crazy and rather unusual for what we used to call usual here. It rather meets the needs of western tourists. It is positively original. The waitress tried hard, but didn't know the difference between Aperol and Campari...he was forgiven 😎

I had the pleasure of visiting Taros during my recent trip to Essaouira, and I must say, it was an amazing experience. This rooftop resto bar is truly a hidden gem in the heart of the city, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out. The atmosphere at Taros is just perfect - relaxed and casual, yet still very chic and stylish. The rooftop setting provides a breathtaking view of the city and the ocean, making it a truly magical place to spend an evening. The decor is also very impressive, with lots of interesting details that really add to the overall ambience. But what really sets Taros apart from other places in Essaouira is the music. The DJ is simply fantastic, playing a great selection of tracks that are perfect for a place like this. Whether you want to dance the night away or just enjoy some great tunes while you sip on a cocktail, the music at Taros is always spot on. Of course, no review of Taros would be complete without mentioning the food and drinks. I tried several items on the menu, and I must say, everything was delicious. The cocktails were also expertly made and very refreshing - perfect for a hot summer evening. All in all, I had an amazing time at Taros and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great rooftop resto bar in Essaouira. The atmosphere, music, and food are all top notch, and I can't wait to go back again soon.

Probably THE place to enjoy the sunset. At the bar, you can get alcoholic drinks. I enjoyed the interior & exterior too, cool small details. Staff and Service are average, as expected for such a great spot. We tried the food too - part of it was really good (Potatoes and sauce!)- but the meat quality was unfortunately on the lower end, extremely fatty. I would recommend going to eat somewhere else and go up for a drink at sunset.

Pricey but great views and ok live music. I think the DJ is great and the live band are great when they sing local songs - the English songs are a bit weird.

Nice restaurant. Really delicious food, fast and friendly service. Large stylish terrace with panoramic sunset views. As I understand it, this is the only panoramic restaurant in the city with a view not only of the sea, but also with a good view of the fortress.

The place was full so there was a line outside. Its normal that you can't get in when everything is full, but when two girls arrived wearing short skirts, they payed the bouncer and just got in. Those bouncers didnt want to let us in, although we wanted to go to LE CLUB. This is an other bar, which has the same entrance...

Despite the disappointing service, Taros remains a popular spot among locals and tourists alike. The terrace is undoubtedly one of the best in Essaouira, and the views alone are worth a visit. Additionally, the music and lively atmosphere make it a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a few drinks. Overall, Taros is a restaurant and bar that offers a lot of potential but falls short in terms of service. If you're willing to overlook the pushy staff, it's definitely worth checking out for the amazing views and fun atmosphere. However, if service is a priority for you, it might be better to consider other options.

One of the best spots in town to drink alcohol. Expensive (40MAD for 0.25cl beer), but the rooftop has a great vibe and live music and DJ until 1 am. After 1 AM the downstairs club is open until 1:45 AM for more dancing.

Amazing rooftop place to socialize with one serious no-go: the (already high) prices for non-alcoholic drinks increase after 7 pm. Yes, it is a place where most people drink alcohol and do not bother too much about it. But that's why it is especially important that people who drink a lot of alcohol feel comfortable ordering a non-alcoholic beverage from time to time as well. If the water (MAD 50 after 7 pm for both 0.5 & 1 l) is more expensive than a beer (MAD 35), this is unlikely to happen. The normal price for a water in a restaurant in Essaouira is MAD 5-15 so the price before 7 pm is already remarkably higher. Of course, Taros is free to ask any price for any beverage but if they really care for the health and wellbeing of their visitors they may reconsider the price increases of non-alcoholic beverages after 7 pm or at least remove the unethical increase for water. I communicate my concern here after sharing it personally with the server/manager who said that this is nothing that they intend to change. Stay hydrated!

Great place! Best bar in town! Ignore the poor reviews, they’re likely fake, which is annoying. The roof terrace is absolutely glorious on a sunny day. Perfect pints of local beer. Great local wines and good alcoholic cocktails too. Lots of non-alcoholic cocktails too. Haven’t tried the food yet but it looks really good. Prices are good too. Beer is only 55 for a large, 100 for a litre. Can’t wait to come back!

I was there this evening with a group, and we had a great time. The staff moved us to a covered area when it started to rain. The service was good, the view excellent, and the food seemed good too (I only ate a few homemade chips from someone else's meal and they were excellent). I'll happily return sometime for the sunset.

Nice atmosphere. However I don't understand why prices automatically double after 7 PM,especially the non alcoholic beverages, something to be aware of. The food is Meh but the live music and atmosphere makes up for it

I visited this place two times during visiting Essouira. Every night they have an open air music with not good DJs until 2 AM, which was super annoying to the biggest square of Essouira in my opinion. You can hear the bad music when you are walking around at night. It also makes drunk people to be around. Security allowed everyone to get in and I felt unsecured. One time they had a good local music before starting the club time. Casablanca beer was 45 MAD.

Great place for sundowners. The view is incredible and the atmosphere is nice. Live music was chill. Definitely worth a trip up-to the rooftop and don’t be put off by the bouncers on the door.

The most amazing place to go out in the night in whole essaouira. We spent lot of time and money there 😂 Atmosphere is really nice and dj is good as well. Nice afro/Arab deep house often. Sometimes live music as well. Go there and have fun. Don't forget to scream Luka Modric on the way out and you will get special treatment by the stuff.
