Avoid this place at all costs! Very bad experience. Some people have pointed out that you can access the rooftop pool by paying some drinks. However they charge you the ridiculous amount of 250 dirham for that (25€) which is written nowhere. That’s why the pool area is probably almost completely empty. Then I asked if a small bowl of olives was included and the waiter guy on the rooftop that’s there today became very upset and rude. He eventually brought a bowl of small olives but behaved very rude. This is not what you expect after paying 25€ just for access to the pool and especially not the standard of a hotel that wants to charge you the ridiculous amount of 500€ per night. Don’t know where the good ratings come from but as some honest ratings have pointed out: it’s absolutely not at 5 star standard and not worth staying here Edit: the comment of the manager shows you how incompetent the place is: The waiter specifically told me I can sit next to the pool, now the manager says I went without asking 🤦🏻‍♂️ shows you how competent they are. They make it look like as if it was such a nice thing of them to allow you to sit at AN EMPTY POOL and charging you 25€ for it whereas it’s nowhere written. Neither on the website nor by the pool nor the reception tells you, it’s simply a rip off. And the way the manager communicates here to make it look like it was me being unfriendly to a waiter or even “mistreating” him as she called it, thus customer blaming, shows you her whole unprofessional behavior. Imagine this comment comes from a “five star hotel”. Imagine you pay 500€ per night or 25€ for an empty and rather dirty pool and then the manager blames you on google maps. This is incredibly. If I was the owner I would rethink if my decisions on Human Resources would correspond to a five star hotel.

Fabulous hotel in a great location to explore both the old medina and new town. We loved the roof top terrace and pool for when the beach is too windy. Staff very helpful however breakfast service could be better (ie explain that eggs can be ordered, check to refill drinks etc). The deluxe suite is amazing and worth the splurge if staying a few nights

So noisy! Rooms have zero sound proofing! If you stay here bring your earplugs because the structure of the hotel means your room is facing the courtyard and as soon as they start to prepare breakfast you get woken up. They also roll large trolleys past the rooms early in the morning which wakes you. They also allow smoking in the central courtyard which is not good as you are trying to eat. It's a real shame because they hotel is gorgeous and the pool area is so lovely and the location is great and the staff are great and the toiletries and very nice and i really liked the bed as well, although my partner found it too hard. Breakfast wasn't to my taste personally either. I don't know if I would stay again - the noise is a big deal for me but there are not many options around which look as nice inside.

Room is spectacular, best hotel in Essaouira we have visited this city many times and love it first time in this hotel and it's lovely. In a great spot by the walls of the medina. Rooftop pool.

I didn’t stay at this hotel but passed by when suffering from food poisoning. A kind porter called Mammadou helped me and allowed me to use the facilities, despite me explain that I wasn’t staying at the hotel. He was friendly, understanding and professional. The other staff at the hotel were also kind and gave me advice about Essaouira including a map. This high level of service deserves to be commended. The ambience and interior of the hotel and lounge was pleasant.

We had a great stay at Heure Blue Palais. The room was large and comfortable and the staff extremely helpful and friendly; arranging restaurants and activities for us when asked etc. The hotel is in a great location in the Medina but not too central so it is noisy at night. The colonial decoration is impressive and all facilities well looked after. Our only slight grumble was that there isn't a spa for guests to use unless you book a hammam/massage treatment. We feel this could have been made clearer when booking. Aside from that it is an excellent hotel.

The hotel was beautiful. The courtyard looked particularly lovely at night. Rooms were well appointed and very clean. The staff were incredibly helpful nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for the great welcome to Morocco.

This is a beautiful hotel....tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable with large rooms, gorgeous spaces and very attentive and thoughtful staff. We were made welcome from the moment we walked through the door.... The restaurant is first class...every meal we had was delicious and the slight problem we had was dealt with promptly and professionally. The riad is inside the medina and very close to one of the gates....we felt secure and right at home. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.

Beautiful old time colonial style hotel with amazing staff! Beautiful rooms and rooftop terrace as well as pool, great location at the outer edge of the medina. But the staff was what made our stay truly outstanding - house keeping twice a day, little treats here and there and trying to accommodate to every single wish we had (vegetarian menu, transport etc.). Breakfast was also great with a huge selection of both sweet and salty foods. Definitely recommend staying here!

Servers took way too long to deliver our drinks, and made us late for our spa appointment (even though we arrived 30 minutes early). As a result, I was rushed through and they missed certain parts of my manicure. I also asked for targeted messages on my shoulders and neck, and they spent MAYBE 30 seconds on them. I’m not sure why you’d ask for areas to focus on when you’re not going to work on them. Also, be careful with the scrubs — my hands got such a terrible rash that the manicurist was slightly concerned. Lastly watch for the clay they put on you in the sauna, because if it gets in your eyes you’re in for a world of pain. You’d probably be better off spending your money someplace else. They’re all perfectly nice people, but I’m not certain they have their stuff together. EDIT: The manager’s response. “Dear M. Verdibello, Thank you for your comment, I am both sorry to read that we did not meet your expectations and surprised because you and your wife were full of praise when you left and had generously thanked the Spa staff. Please accept our most sincere apologies. Best regards“ EDIT: To add my response and provide context. “We are American tourists visiting a foreign country, and as such we try to be polite and support local businesses by adding gratuities and offering thanks. My wife’s experience was much better than mine, but nevertheless my experience left much to be desired. I hope this feedback serves to help improve the level of service that your business provides. We appreciate your time and apology.”

Just inside the Eastern gate of Essaouira's medina the Huere Blueue provides a tranquil break from the frantic streets and alleyways and was a good choice for lunch. A beautiful courtyard with tall plants and cool shade, wonderful decor and a good menu mix of Moroccan and more international fare. The Palace has an interesting history too which the impeccable staff will happily recount for you.

This place has earned the right to be called a Palais, I had incredible service and time there. Lives up to everything you would expect and more.
