Had a great stay at this hostel. It was close (10 minute walk) to the great Christmas market and centre of Essen and it is a 5 minute walk from the station, which makes travelling without a vehicle very convenient. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, the room was modern and comfortible. Will stay here again.

Although on a late notice, the clerk was able to get us rooms for 18 people in the middle of a nationwide strike. The rooms have four beds, are cozy and get very good lighting.

Very neat and clean rooms, warm blankets, good furniture, stable beds. Friendly staff. They had some issues with the lockers in the room (didn't work) but promised to fix those asap😉

Nice hostel overall. There wasn't much of a social scene when we were there but it's rooms were nice and the kitchen was good. I'd recommend it if you need a place to stay while in Essen

My second stay in this hostel, one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed. The location is very good, just several minutes walk to hauptbahnhof. The staff are also very friendly and helpful, they gave me a bed with private bathroom in the room. The room is clean and everything is new. It’s also not crowded. Sometimes I feel like I’m not staying in a dorm but a private bedroom. Highly recommend to stay in this hostel when visiting Essen, best place to save money and enjoy the stay.

super clean, warm rooms which is great in Germany's cold winter, so close to Hauptbahnhof, equipped kitchen, the staff are so lovely and friendly, we made friends only by staying one night there, had great conversations, Next time visiting Essen I would definitely stay again. the price for two ppl, a private room, clean bedsheets and everything only 53 euros.

I was attacked and insulted by boss of hotel. He was arrogant and aggressive. I waiting for reception will be open...try to go inside and he close door behind my nose and start shup to me. I feel not comfortable and not safe there. Woman in reception didn't speak English was very difficult to communicate. I didn't recommend this place

Great Airbnb, super clean. Came to Essen for the Schalke game and host was super friendly. Very cheap great location. Very recommended!

I came just after 16:00 to check in, but there was nobody at the reception, had to wait. Manager did nothing to help, told me to wait and just laid there on a sofa. Bad experience from the start. The rooms are clean and modern. The towels were not properly cleaned - had a ball of dust and hair on one of them.

Reception is open only until 8pm, and when you book from Hostelworld there is just a very tiny notice about it despite the possibility of informing you will arrive at 11pm. So be prepared to sleep in the Essen HBF if you fail to pay attention to this detail or if you don't find a random guest to open the door and allow to sleep at the reception or their room.

Great hostel for the price, 27 euros. Clean rooms, nice sheets and confortable bed, kind staff. I would repeat once again. If you are looking for a live and young hostel maybe it's not your place, but for one night is perfect. Perfect location next to the main train station and city center.

The lockers didn't work. Luckily I didn't lock anything in them before realizing they didn't open again, and thank God, cause the reception is only open 9am-12pm (online and on the doorbell it said from 8am) and from 4-8pm and I was out during the times it was open. I was able to pull the outlet by my bed out of the wall which was concerning, and didn't feel safe climbing in and out of my bed (top bunk). When I did interact with the staff, 2/3 of them were very friendly and helpful, the place was clean, and the location was perfect for my needs. I've stayed at nicer places for that price, though. I was disappointed.

Clean and calm hostel, with well-equipped new kitchen and decent rooms. The shared bathrooms and showers are very clean, although sometimes not enough. The perosnnel also doesn't speak English, which is quite weird in a hostel.

Even though I was late at check in, I was not charged extra. . You have coffee at your discretion even during the night, the rooms are clean and the toilet and showers are in the hallway. The price is totally attractive.

The rooms were very clean, there was very tasty chocolate milk. The common room was very cosy and the hostel is situated in a nice place, with good restaurants. Price quality this is an excellent stay. Thank you for having us!

Everything is super clean. The coffee machine is excellent. It's well designed and it's so comfortable. It's located in the heart of the Essen, near central Bahnhof , the markets and ..... . Great atmosphere and professional staff. the reception is so understanding and cooperative. The best option for staying in the Essen. the best price.

This is the best Germany hostel, the staff are very easy going, friendly and helpful. Common area - clean n tidy. Halid is a very responsible staff who is waiting for the customer till 1-2AM ish. He'd deserved a good rise or a nice training and promotion!
