The hotel was wonderful. I stayed as a single person for one night and the room was the perfect size and space for what I needed. Rooms are spotless, cleaned daily and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful. Better than expected. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice.

Wonderful, relaxing stay. Rooms are spacious and clean. Air conditioner in each room. Food was delicious: Ethiopian dishes and western favorites. Staff are friendly and very helpful. We loved sitting by the pool and watching the sunset with drinks and snacks.

The location is just breathtaking and the environment. The hotel is just beautiful but more than that the stuff! They have one of the most helpful and so friendly stuff I have seen in Awassa. The service is great so is the food! We had an amazing week there and we will definitely visit again!

I had the most unpleasant weekend at haile. We went there to take a wedding photo. So we paid for the package. What they told us and the one we got are completely different. Once they checked us in the wrong room, and we paid for that before hand. Most hotels in hawasa, u can pay after Checking out. Not here though. In the wedding package they said we would have a boat ride which we were told will be decorated and also would contain Champaign. But none were provided. In short don't buy the full wedding package if u want have a good picture day. The spot was amazing though.

Excellent hotel, the services are very good and the customer treatment was amazing. I also found the hotel to have the best view of the lake in Hawassa. It is shaded in the afternoon and the landscaping also adds to the great view.

Loved the traditional dance performance. I’ve lived in Hawassa for about a year, and we often visit the various resorts in town, mainly as recreation for our kids. Haile is definitely a favorite. Nice playground for the kids and beautiful grounds for the parents to enjoy a drink and meal with a view. What it lacks compared to the other resorts is an embrace of Ethiopia’s cultural heritage. If you want traditional music, dancing, ambiance, you will find it at Rori, Ker-Awud, Lewi, but less so at Haile. Or so I thought. Last Saturday I happened to stay a little later (6:00 PM / 12:00 local) and was pleasantly surprised to see an amazing traditional dance performance. We had so much fun with the dancers. They invited us and the kids to join them in one of the dances, and my kids were thrilled. It was a memorable evening for all of us. I asked, and it sounds like they perform the same time every Saturday, so I highly recommend a visit. Sadly they only perform once per week. I really hope Haile starts offering more of these kinds of cultural experiences.

We stopped at their restaurant for lunch while we waited for our room to finish getting ready. when I I went t go wash my hands i was told I have to leave by one of the guards who was extremely rude and unruly he said since I don’t have a room I have to leave the restaurant and couldn’t use the restroom. I had to go get a manager to show him that I had a reservation and apologize.

Great services and meals. So clean and comfortable. Has great offerings. Prices however are way up and so incomparable to similar services around town.

The staff, guards, and everyone I meat is very friendly. The view, the good and most service is great. Most things are very clean but shared bath rooms like in the lobby are not very clean compaired to the standard of the hotel. Be aware this place is very expressive compaired to any hotel in the city. Other that that it's amazing place to stay.

its very open and spacial. the service is great.the interior and outer spaces are inviting. the view to the lake is exceptional. the wine garden looks beautiful. the pool service is nice. the only thing below standard was the cake.

The pool at Haile resort is a haven of tranquility, the birds flying above you on the water, the flowers and huge trees frame this human pond like a canopy, the lake just below, boats of fishermen working to make their daily catch. The rooms are cozy and the view on the Hawassa lake is just magnificent. Sit outside and watch the sunrise on this vast expanse of water. Restaurant and bar completely satisfactory. Bonus is the spa with very good treatments if you have some spare time.

Wow! What an amazing place to stay! I really enjoyed being right on Lake Awasa in this wonderful hotel. The staff were so welcoming, and you are greeted by the beautiful aroma of incense upon arrival. Loved drinking the traditional coffee, and had such a perfect room overlooking the lake. The staff were really accommodating, and helpful. I even had a shuttle to the airport. Clean, comfortable, and so beautiful! Recommend if you are having an adventure in Hawassa.

This is more than a resort the level of hospitality in this Hotel is Absolutely Amazing I have visited so many countries in the world But my entire stay in this particular resort in Ethiopia is beyond my expectations They took care of us !! The sunrise view the sunset view were amazing too

We had a traditional Meles ceremony there and stayed a couple of nights; all the staff members were friendly, professional and made it feel like home. Rooms with lake view are beautiful but overpriced at official rate. The view and location are impressive. The service is well trained. Nevertheless, the food is very common and not up to expected standard, and the wine sunset bar only serves Acacia, which is definitely not the taste I associate with a beautiful sundown. Please add Rift Valley or Gebeta!

Nice and well mannered staff. The hotel rooms are expensive wrt facilities and town standard. Rooms do not provide creamers and neither on demand. One has to pay $140 per night which is not value for money. One should look for better value for money options in town. I am also surprised to see rates in USD for local and resident customers. I am sure Haile resort is not paying salary in dollars to its employees or paying utilities and other expenses in dollars. Administration should look into it. Totally irrational.

Haile Resort Hawassa is a beautiful resort located on the shores of Lake Hawassa. The resort has a stunning view of the lake, and the fresh air is refreshing. The garden is well-maintained and there are plenty of places to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have outdoor swimming pools. There are also a few indoor games available. Overall, Haile Resort Hawassa is a great place if you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable place.

Everything is exceptional here. Just like the legendary Haile G/Slassie (the owner) is the best in the world, the hotel is the best and amazing.

The best resort ever is that it is great, peaceful, and refreshing for a family getaway. My family and I enjoyed our stay. The service is outstanding.I recommend it to anyone who loves nature.

The resort is located by the lake with a great view, food is okay but very limited choice with regard to fish dishes. The staff is amusing starting from the main entrance. The rooms are small and a little pricey, the common wash room is smelly and far away from the restaurant. Surprised also to know that in some location/restorant you can only order a few selected food items.

A top resort with a lovely lake view. We had a good time there when we went for dinner at night. Clean restaurant with great ambiance and excellent friendly service. They are expensive, but they are worth it.

I had an amazing stay at Haile resort in Hawassa. The resort is located by the beautiful Lake Hawassa, which offers a stunning view of the water and the wildlife. The food was so delicious and varied, from traditional Ethiopian dishes to international cuisine. The staff were so friendly and humble, always ready to help and make me feel comfortable. The resort also has an outdoor swimming pool, a playground, a gym, and a bar. I stayed for a week and enjoyed every moment of it. Haile resort is definitely one of the best hotels in Ethiopia and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable vacation.

Very attentive and well trained staff from the guards by the entrance to the resort to the hotel Management. Great location by the lake especially the wine bar at sunset. We will visit again and other Haile Resorts.

Currently on a birthday trip at Haile Resort- Hawassa and incredibly displeased by my stay. Food is mediocre, customer service is terrible, activities are extremely hard to book, house keeping enters rooms without permission and staff only seem to respond with any kind of urgency if you’re foreign/speak English. The one thing I was fully looking forward to was horse back riding. They have one horse available and it’s not trained for riding and they don’t provide helmets. A huge disappointment. I do not recommend. EDIT: After we spoke with management and wrote this review, the Haile team worked together to turn our trip around. They were extremely responsive and went out of their way to ensure that the rest of our trip was to our liking. We did have an issue in the bathroom with the water shutting off then coming back brown which was disconcerting but aside form that, the second half of our trip was much better thanks to the Haile Resort staff.

Nice place especially for the nature lovers. The service and the friendly staffs are amazing. We have been tired and hungry after a long hours trip.The waiter understood our situation, gave us a nice place and quickly served the food. We also loved the fish goulash with french fries. I will definately come back!

Well maintained place. It's not always you see a hotel this functional for the years it's been in service. The location is great, quiet and there is a lot to do if you go there with a team or for business. Comfortable bed and a great atmosphere generally. The staff is super friendly, food isn't bad at all. The only problem I had was the price. It's super expensive staying here.
