Really dirty and not the promised features. Room was much smaller than advertised. We booked a 51 squaremeters deluxe room with spa bath, whirlpool, mosquito net, ps4 and so on, but we got a room at least not taller than 20 squaremetres. Without the promised features and really dirty. See the pictures. We talked to them, they showed us other rooms with exactly the same problems. So we canceled and looked for another hotel.

In April 2015 I stayed for a month in WindMill Beach Hotel, Negombo again. I was surprised, that there has been carried out extensive renovation both internally and externally. The bathrooms were completely renovated. The rooms were equipped with new furniture. There have been new TV with flat screen. As usual, there were well-functioning air conditioner and refrigerator.Lobby and reception area has also received new furniture and nice modern design. In the garden some old plants were replaced with new fresh exotic trees and shrubs. The pool was as usual clean and well maintained. But all these changes could hardly compete with the staff which as usual was friendly and really helpful.This time I met many guests who stayed at the hotel last year, which made the atmosphere even more pleasant. This was a vacation trip combined with the business.

Lovely hotel, good value for money, rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff are friendly and polite, helpful and happy, breakfast 🍳☕🍞 is good..... Filling and plentiful..... I would recommend this hotel, 5 minutes to beach and lots of restaurants close at hand to meet your needs, shops also, excellent stay with the Windmill Hotel...... You won't be disappointed..... Enjoy.... I certainly did 😁😁😁

The room had a nice balcony facing the swimming pool and the pool was clean. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, but the air conditioning was not enough. Furniture in the room should be improved and bathroom amenities didn't include shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel. Food was okay and the portion was big given the charges. Overall the stay was worth the price and the place has the potential to grow bigger and better.

A lovely hotel in all aspects. The staff very friendly especially Jayantha and very customer orientated. The service was excellent. The food was great and breakfast was very good and had something for everyone. A great place to stay whether for an entire vacation for for a few nights after a great tour of the country

Family run lovely hotel. Very flexible, friendly owners and staff. On request owners provided us with very traditional Sri Lankan breakfast with variations every day. Definite choice for our next holiday

Lovely family run small hotel. Great pool, great staff and within easy reach of restsurants and shops . Beach within a 10 minute walk. Would definately recommend.

STRESSFUL HOLIDAY!!!!!!!! Me and my friends decided to spent our weekends here in Windmill Beach and Villa Hotel! But our weekends which was suppose to be fun became a nightmare😞 from the moment we checked in until we checked out. 1. We booked for two family room since we are a group of adults and kids. Before we book the room, one of my friend is already communicating with the owner(by the way the owner and her husband is so amazing) informing how many adults and kids will be coming to each room and the owner says it is fine as long as we were okay and can manage to each room or else they will offer us a extra room with a very less price, which we declined since we were okay in the rooms. But the lady in the counter won’t allow us to stay and saying that the capacity for the family room is only 2 adults and 2 kids, and in front of us that lady were talking to the other staff and they were making comments againsts us which made us very uncomfortable. 2. The staff in the restaurant is very RUDEEEEEEE!!!! The auntie who is always telling us things, not to walk in the hallway, looking at us with full of judgement, and we have bring our speaker and play music and she kept on telling us to volume it down since the owner’s relative just died few days back (if you want a quiet place you shouldn’t have accepted booking) and everytimewe were ordering foods she always complains saying like this like - she was acting like she is the owner of the hotel and really rude. During the lunch time she asked us to transfer to another table so she can clean our table and we told her that we were still eating but did not listen to us and took the plates. That is in the first day of our stay and until the second day of our stay she did not leave us alone she forced us to check out at 12:00 noon when we already spoke to the owner saying we can check out at 2:00 pm but anyways we check out early. The place is perfect actually but the staffs really make the place not quite good only the ladies staff but the other staff they were fine. I hope the management will do something to their staffs like training on how to handle costumers or else you will lost the costumers!!!!!!

Buget hotel and accomodation. Service and food is that good..Very limited set menu..But some food items were not available..The owners should looking to these areas to improve..
