Sea Sands Beach Hostel is by far one of the best hostels I've stayed at and the perfect place to start your Sri Lankan holiday/adventure. Amazing views out over the beach, watching fishermen bring in their catches each day, and locals swim and have fun in the water, while having a nice cold beer on the deck and enjoying the beautiful sunset directly in front of you. Yohan is the best host you could possibly have, being friendly, helpful and most of all trustworthy. He ensures his guests are happy and safe and is always on hand to give advice on what to do in Sri Lanka and where to go (and not go). While I was there Yohan organised an incredible boat tour through the lagoon and even took us on a mini Negambo city tour in his car. I had only planned on staying 3 nights, which turned into 3 weeks as I enjoyed the place so much, and met so many amazing people while I was there. Even travelling through Sri Lanka with some of them. There are plenty of restaurants along the strip outside the hostel and places to rent motorcycles, tuk tuk's and cars also for your Sri Lankan adventure. Sea Sands Beach Hostel is the perfect place to start your Sri Lankan holiday. Highly recommended.

Loved this place. Awesome starting and finishing point to your trip in Sri Lanka. After only spending a few nights I would consider the owner, yohan a friend. Him and anjit were the kindest of people and made our stay extra special. Good location and i was one of the first to see the new renovations made on the property. Highly recommend

Hospitality is amazing here. Friendliest and most accomodating staff. Great space to chillout, nice and quiet, overlooking the beach with a beautiful sunset view.

Yolan is an awesome and kind person. Although he was extremely busy, he ensured that I was comfortable and had all the necessities that I required. Location is excellent and neat facilities are basic but what is required. Thank you for Yolan for a wonderful stay.

Best Beach Hostel in Negombo I found this place with a recommendation by restaurant Lucky's. Owner youhan is a very kind person+ helpful. Nice sea view from the hostel.

Forget about this place for the next year or two. They are in between a heavy construction phase and it’s just not pretty. The bathroom has a weird smell. The room is comfortable. The guy at the front is very sweet. But he is not available in the morning. And the other workers do not speak good English.

The best place in the whole of Negombo. Johan is such a generous good person that will help you with everything you need. My intention was to stay for only two days but I ended up being there for a whole week.

The best spot in Negombo for backpackers. First line beach view, friendly atmosphere, clean facilities, comfortable beds and the most helpful host ever! I loved chilling out in the terrace and I enjoyed the common dinners a lot. I cannot express enough my gratitude for taking so good care of us. 🙏

First off, Yohan was a great host, very friendly and informative. The hostel is right on the beach and only 5 minutes from the nearest train station. The room was clean and there is a terrace with view on the sea. In the street were a lot of good restaurants. Only downside were the mosquitoes, but apart from that nothing to complain about.

Definitely the nicest hostel in Negombo! Wanted to stay for 1 night but ended up staying 6 days. Great vibe, directly at the beach with the best sunset view. Food places and supermarkets close by, even a restaurant downstairs that sells proper coffee. The owner is great and so are the people! Came back here several times and will keep coming back ☺️
