Great tour and great experience! The historical value of all the artifacts in this house is impressive! The guide was very knowledgeable and took her time with our kids. I think the only thing missing in the tour would be a moment, or sector of the tour, really dedicated to the life of the slaves in themselves, how they lived, what was their days like, etc. So to balance the opulence of the house with the actual reason they could be in such luxury by having slaves working for them. Otherwise I really recommend it it’s a different side of Jamaica different from just the fun beaches and falls.

Fantastic authentic Jamaican history. The house and furniture have been preserved and restored sympathetically. Extremely knowledgeable guides reveal the opulence and violent reality of plantation ownership in the 18th to 19th centuries.

Loved viewing this house. It had many of its original pieces and in particular my favourite was the pink room! The staff were great and it wasn’t busy at all (we went on a Sunday at 2pm) so our tour was personalized as we were the only guests there. It was very well preserved and the tour guide was informative. We also purchase tickets upon arrival which was nice as I was worried we would have to book in advance. Overall 10/10. Beware the car-ride up was very bumpy but still safe.

Marvelous place, guide lady loves what she do, they are wonderful hosts, the house is amazing, this is a hidden gem and a must see place if you love the history and explore how was it like to live back in the days. Very well preserved, each corner of the house provides insights and interesting stories.

We enjoyed this tour of Greenwood Great House quite a lot. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The tour was focused on the many unique artifacts and furnishings of the home, as well as details of the Barret family. We found the instruments particularly interesting. I wish the tour had a bit more focus on the history of slavery in the house. The Barrett's "owned" 2000 slaves. Though there were brief mentions during the tour as well as a small area of the grounds with artifacts, I would have liked to learn more, especially as the Greenwood Great House was one of few great houses to survive the Great Jamaican Slave Revolt.

One of the most intact and well preserved houses of historical importance in Jamaica. It's a must visit place if you want to get a peek into the lives of the 18th century plantation owners.

By far the best great house tour on the island. I'm surprised it's not more popular. The road to get there was a little rough and there weren't any other guests when I visited on a Saturday, but the guides were very friendly and engaging and the tour itself was informative. I loved seeing all the rare musical instruments and unique art from the 1700s.

Greenwood is one is the best preserved examples of the plantation era Jamaican Great House. Magnificent hilltop location, with wide view of the Caribbean sea. Built in late 1700s by Richard Bennett. Most of the items are authentic: furniture, antique china and silverware, crystals, oil paintings and Barrett family memorabilia, rare musical instruments, intact original library (with up to 300 books, some dated as early as 1697.) Worth a visit! Strongly recommended.

It was very informational and a fun experience, heating the music that they had from back then and seeing the portraits made and the story behind them, such a wonderful experience to be honest!

Great experience. Well informed tour guide, she was extremely pleasant. They gave us the foreign tourist version of the tour which I was still happy with. Wish I could have stayed longer and learn more.

Amazing and surprisingly well preserved hidden piece of history. Loved every bit our tour and our tour guide was really knowledgeable (pity I forget her name) but she was cool. The artifacts, history, THE VIEW...totally nice. Special price for locals would be my only wish.

Awesome museum with interesting artifacts & a lovely view. But hefty US$20 entry fee & no local price available which is a little absurd. But all in all a good experience.

Poor service. My family and I are locals who were treated poorly. The tour guide told us that the owners aren’t welcoming to locals, they prefer tourists. The tour is also ridiculously expensive.

Wow! The Green wood great house was an amazing experience, first the view from the great house is phenomenal, it's breathtaking something you want to wake up and see every morning. The great house have furniture's 200 years old, and lots of interesting things, also monuments of the owners, I'm feeling good about the history of the great house.

This tour a property is definitely off of the beaten path but the trip makes the tour extra special. We learned a lot about the house & what is in it. The road getting up to the property is sketchy but is well worth it (don't be frightened off by the drive). The tour guide was fantastic. The property is beautiful & definitely well maintained. Take this tour if you have a chance.

Five stars if you are a history buff. This gives a lot of background in history on this side of the island. A lot of the furniture is from the 1600s. Entrance fee is $25 if you purchase it at the venue.

Beautiful old house with lots of original interior showing the lifestyle of a wealthy British slaveholding family in the 18th/19th century. The 45min private tour (we just showed up without reservation and were the only visitors) was interesting, we especially enjoyed listening to the old music instruments. Given the fact that the house and the interior neee to be maintained, the US$ 20 pp were alright.

I had a very enjoyable solo tour here with guide Thora at 5pm, the last tour of the day. The place has an interesting history, great panoramic view of the landscape and sea, and even fun demonstrations with centuries old musical instruments that still play, convertible furniture, and secret compartments. The free rum punch at the end was nice with it being such a hot day. Stop by and take a tour!

Elegant Old Stately home with many of the original furnishings. Gorgeous ocean views from top floor. A bar is now tucked into the original kitchen. A bit of a walk from where the buses park, might be hard for frail elderly.
