This is one of the Faroes Islands best kept secrets. I was blown away by the location, setting and very friendly vibe at Café Eðge. It is run by a local family who made my time in Mikladalur unforgettable. They were so kind & nice to speak to. In addition, the soup was superb and went back the following day for more! The scenic views from the cafe are nothing short of incredible and it was a special experience. If i could give more stars i would - I highly recommend visting Café Eðge!

A very special place to visit and eat and drink with Jógvan the owner. Situated on the edge of the cliff this place has amazing views out over to the islands. We had the delicious home made soup (spicy chicken) along with their home made warmed bread. We also had coffee. The home made cakes also looked delicious, but given the size of the bowl of soup we were full! We were also treated to Jógvan singing traditional Faroese songs due to his friend (and popular Faroese musical "Rani" happening to be there whilst we were visiting. Such fun. Jógvan also told us about the local traditions and history and stories from the island. We never thought that a simple bowl of soup and coffee would turn into an event for the 5 of us who just happened to visit his cafe.

The soup was worthy of any fine-dining restaurant! I admit I wasn’t expecting such a top notch soup… I was just here to take a break after the hike to the lighthouse. The local beer is also very crisp and refreshing.

We spend some time there, the couple holding this place is really friendly and we enjoy some interesting talk with them about the Faroes. The view and their cake are marvelous.

This place is a joke. They open irregularly, when they simply feel like it. I was in Mikladalur three times, each time Edge was closed. Once there were people inside, yet I was told they cannot let me and my group in.

Such wonderful hosts. Maggie and Jógvan were such delightful hosts, sharing so much insight about the Faroes, that I stopped before the Kallur hike and came back straight after. Huge thanks to them! The location is splendid, right by a waterfall. The homemade soup (ask what the secret ingredient is), the homemade bread, the waffles add to the happiness. Make it an absolute stop. And check their Instagram/Facebook accounts as they will offer tours soon.

A hidden gem. I have no idea what was in that meringue cake but I need more of it! A beautiful cafe overlooking the statue of the Kópakonan (Seal Wife) in Mikladalur. The hosts are very welcoming and the food and atmosphere is lovely. Thank you for a perfect morning break. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Amazing cafe, unlike any other. Tasty and warm soup, homemade bread and beautiful handmade jewelry. All of it topped off with 90s music in the background. If you are in the Faroes, not to be missed. Thanks again for the warm welcome, Maddie and Anna
