Staying in Oda's guest house with GoLocal was such a special experience! We stayed here in June 2019. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Faroe Islands that wants to see Mykines island from a unique perspective (and see some ADORABLE PUFFINS!). My husband and I weren't able to get seats on the boat that would take you to Mykines for a day trip (Mykines is accessible from Vagar by boat or helicopter, but in the summer these tickets sell out fast!), so we decided to take the evening boat to Mykines and stay on the island overnight in Oda's guest house. It was really a blessing in disguise that the morning boat tickets sold out; staying with Oda was THE BEST PART OF OUR TRIP TO FAROE and a truly amazing experience! Oda is a wonderful guide who is very passionate about her country and she has so many great stories to tell about the Faroe Islands. She served us a delicious dinner and took us on an AMAZING evening hike around Mykines. It was so special to see the island at such a peaceful time of day. We saw so many adorable puffins, sheep, and even heard some seals calling from the rocks below. The hike was full of gorgeous views and wildlife. In a country surrounded by gorgeous landscapes and precious wildlife, the trail Oda will take you on takes the cake! After the hike, we came back to the guest house to sleep (really comfortable sleeping accommodations too!) and she served us another delicious meal for breakfast. I cannot recommend this enough! If you come to Faroe Islands you HAVE to book a stay with GoLocal and meet Oda! It will be the highlight of your trip. <3

Very highly recommended. Excellent stay with the lovely Oda in a traditional house. Delicious meal and a great walk at sunset in really beautiful weather. The weather in the Faroes can change very quickly! An overnight storm and bad visibility prevented both the morning ferry and helicopter from arriving. We loved having this extra time on Mykines safe in the knowledge that, if needed, we had food and a bed for the night in Oda's home. We visited the cafe, ate there and chatted with local people; it gave a feeling of what life on Mykines could really be like. Fortunately the cloud lifted for an hour and the helicopter arrived at 3pm to take us back to Vagar. A real adventure! We loved it. We have travelled extensively worldwide but the Faroes is as good as travel gets.

Our stay with Oda at GoLocal was the highlight of our trip to the Faroe Islands. Oda is a fantastic host and the sunset and puffins tour is pure magic. It's the only way to visit Mykines in my opinion.

This is the best place I have been for a natural, up-close experience with these photogenic favourites. I only take photos for fun and was so pleased to get some great shots without a zoom lens. Oda is an amazing, knowledgable and welcoming host who cares passionately about her wild, remote island and its nature.

Fantastic place and homely accommodation with Ouda in her small traditional house in the middle of the village. She was a wonderful hostess who gave us good advice, cooked a delicious meal and socialized in a pleasant way. Can really be recommended!

We had so much fun visiting in August! Lisa, Mitch, and I had a fantastic time hiking, trekking and exploring the islands. Oda's hospitality was amazing -- we stuck around for an extra day. We loved talking to and learning from Oda about the islands, the culture, and the history. We had some of the best salmon ever at her home. And let's not forget the amazing puffins!

We had booked the Mykines sunset tour and our stay at Oda's was wonderful. The meal was delicious, the house cozy and the sunset walk was amazing. Oda was very kind and knowledgable. We loved every second of our stay! Thanks Oda :-)

Without doubt the best experience i have had in my home country! I highly recommend the full experience that includes the overnight's stay + dinner. Oda's rich and detailed knowledge about Mykines is intriguing and is highly beneficial for travelers seeking to find beautiful landscapes and good spots to observe puffins. As she so accurately put it: If you only seek to stay one day, it is as if you're only watching the trailer instead of watching the entire movie.
