This hike is amazing. It's a little challenging and pretty steep but it's well worth it, for the views. On a clear day you can see a lot of the islands. I was lucky to have the fog clear as I reached the summit. It's very windy at the top so be careful if you plan to stand on the edge of anything. This is the highest mountain in the Faroe islands and if you're an outdoor enthusiast you gotta do this if you're here.

Great view in all directions from the top. It’s a steep walk up and the trail kind of disappeared half way up, so it’s easy to take a wrong turn there and on the last climb towards the top.

Hiked to the top on Feb 22, 2023. No obvious trail, as the ground was covered in a light dusting of fresh snow and patches of ice in higher elevations. Took about an hour ascending, 1.5 hours descending (very carefully) with just hiking boots. Beautiful views all around on a sunny-ish day!

Great free hiking from around 400/500 meters to the top of the mountain (around 880 meters). The first part is quite steep but then it gets more comfortable to go up. Leave the car to the parking space below, the parking is easy to spot it’s on the street. It takes around 1.30/2.00 to go up and down. Very nice view all around from the top, since it’s the tallest mountain.

Highest peak of Faroe Islands. It's not so difficult to reach summit as the total gain is about 500 metres, but if there is snow or fog it's quite challenging because there is steep section and path is not marked at all. It took me about 2 hours to get on the top. There was a lot of mud and the top but visibility was quite good. Right below summit are 2 short sections with steel chain. No worries, it's completely safe and chains are there just to be sure. The hike starts from big enough parking lot right next to main road but be aware that road is opened only from 1.5. til 1.10.

We saw nothing because of the fog, but the hike was totally worth it thanks to its difficulty, it’s a little bit challenging !

This is a very steep climb from 450-600m but, if you are lucky to be here on a cloudless day, you are rewarded by extraordinary views from the 882m summit. However, if you can spare four hours, for views of both Gjogv & Funningir (neither is visible from the summit) head first for the Eastern end of the 700m ridge, then contour back along it to join the summit path. Without trekking poles, the descent is difficult where you cannot walk on grass. (Photos taken [as described] at about 700m).

Slættaratindur is the tallest peak on the Faroe Islands. The hike is not that bad, because the parking lot is already ~300 m high up. Between 10%-50% up the mountain is grueling and steep. The final 50% of the hike is quite easy. It took us 1 hour to go up, and 1 hour to go down. There was no fee. We got a little confused if we made it to the peak or not. The trail sort of gets lost near the top. We found an overlook for ourselves and decided it was the top. For us, it was VERY windy the whole hike. I wish I had a hat for this one, because my hood kept getting blown off my head. Views were "so-so" because it was foggy on the day we did this.

Beautiful view on a clear day. Make sure to wear boots with a solid grip, because on dry days the dust and dirt path is very slippery downhill.

Amazing views! this is the highest point in the Faroe Islands. the hike is a little hard at start, but later it's easier. the view from there is absolutely amazing. there is convenient parking at the start point of the hike.

You have to go here as soon as possible, the better, we arrived at the parking lot at 7 in the morning, it takes about 2 hours to get up, the view is amazing, when we went down, a lot of people were going up, so if you stop early, you will have everything up there to yourself, beautiful a view of the entire Faroe Islands
