Recently we went to see “The Snow Queen” with our 5th grade class. The fairy tale is familiar to everyone, but the performance is staged according to Schwartz and adapted for young spectators. Yes, some of the characters created by Andersen did not appear on stage, but Andersen himself was not only the storyteller, but also the hero throughout the entire performance. He and other artists repeatedly addressed young spectators, and they answered openly with pleasure. The decorations are simple, do not overload the scenes, the accents were placed correctly on the details: roses, a fireplace stove, windows with a frosty pattern on the glass. Changing scenery is a different story: they move in a circle, almost invisible to the eye. There are few lighting effects, which is even good, because there were a lot of kids in the hall. The smoke created a feeling of winter cold, but at some point there was too much of it and the children began to cough. The Snow Queen's shining outfit was mesmerizing! The acting of all the actors is at a high professional level. Children and adults were delighted! Thank you very much, beloved theater, which once again gave us faith in miracles! Adults, have your passport and QR code ready!

Disappointment of the year! The decoration is Stalinist Empire style, which was also spoiled by later renovations. There is nothing that awes or even pleases the eye. The hall is so small that there is not even an orchestra pit! Accordingly, all the songs and even some of the monologues are “plywood”. I don’t undertake to evaluate the troupe; I don’t come here often. But “Cinderella” is a clear failure, the script was assembled from continuous borrowings, as well as old jokes and reprises. I don't recommend it.

The theater is well situated nearby a few underground stations. The stage is not big, but I deem that it is an advantage. The sound engineer deserves a pat on his back. I like the local sound.

You can book here a table for the break in the performance which is very nice. The theatre is very good. Liked it very much.

Beautiful building, beautiful inside. That's all. We were at the play “It’s not all Maslenitsa for the cat”, absolute boredom, monotonous dialogues without any dynamism. Benoir box, excuse me, of course, but cram 7 chairs into where the best option is 3 seats. In the buffet, the tables are so close together that you have to jostle with your neighbors. Did not like.

The Maly Theater is my favorite theater! Every performance is a masterpiece. Today we watched “It’s not all Maslenitsa for the cat.” All the actors perform incomparably! I would like to mention the actress Irina Zheryakova. Her performance is mesmerizing, it is ironic, fiery, charming!
