The gude was able to make small adjustments where needed, we already saw the red square, and since it was closed we did not spend much time there, This made that we had more time to visit the metro system. Perfect. We ended with a visit to a food market, wich was really interesting. It was really nice to taste all the Russian produce. If I could make a small suggestion I would like to have lunch a little earlier on the day, and end with some Russian alcoholic beverages instead of tea (wich we already had in the morning). saw the red square,

Daya showed us Moscow in a way that we could never have otherwise seen. We were the only 2 that day, so it was a really special tour. We visited the main sites in the centre and Red Square but did not spend too much time on these, go there on a typical tourist tour any day. Instead we had the rare opportunity to visit places where only the locals gather, an historic underground eatery, a very private café, a most spectacular historic grocery store. She took lots of photos and emailed them to us after, and provided very useful links to information .

(Translated by Google) Today I saw a lot of interesting places that I passed by before, I learned a bunch of insanely interesting facts. For 3 years I went into the subway almost every day, but I never looked around - and from some historical events, stories, tears welling up today, my emotions filled. Throwing a coin - a separate cool emotion! Guys, Muscovites, and not only, I sincerely advise Sasha Sveshnikova (@fafkin @moscowurbanadventures), which even in cold Moscow weather can bring a special twist to your day and broaden your horizons. Always glad to meet such people! Thanks! It was cool (Original)

A friend & I booked two different tours- the metro station tour & a bicycle tour. Our guides (Valentina & Ekaterina/Katya we’re both very friendly, interesting & knowledgeable. They were fun & took their time but covered a lot of ground, taking great pictures along the way. Both tours ended with local food that was our choice & delectable. Highly recommend!

Thanks to Maria Dayanova, a tour guide, who works for "Urban adventures" for the wonderful programme "Vodka spirit". This short trip allowed us to warm soul. I learnt a lot of new facts about historical buildings in the centre of Moscow. We visited three restaurants with fine Russian cuisine. It was great.

My first excursion and the best I have experienced was in Moscow, Russia! What a memorable day we had. I had visited Moscow for the first time and my trip was short. I must say, within that short space of time, we explored Moscow all day with our tour guide, Valentina. Our quest began at the Pushkin Square, it was a rainy and windy for almost half the day though, but we managed to see so much with the courageous and motivated young lady, Valentina who journeyed with us all day. Soon after, we swinged by the McDonalds cafe, the very first in Moscow. Nearby was the Gastronomia Eliseevsky, in which we were shown the "suggestion box" that people anonymously used to let their views known in the hay-days. I reminisce saying my first Russian sentence to enter the anti-cafe, Ziferblat-Clockface, with help from Valentina, a place where you pay for time, not for food. I even played the piano there, as I have so much love for music! It was a very awesome moment along with my son and the other tourist in our cohort from Singapore. Along the way, down Tverskaya street, we saw the Central Telegraph building, the actual center of Moscow. We emerged out towards the Kremlin area and visited the GUM, a must visit Mall, where we had ice cream. We went closer to the Kremil side and took pictures there as Valentina went into the details enlightening us on the history behind the constructions and meanings behind. As if that was not enough, the Moscow Metro was next to explore. I must say, I had never seen so many chandeliers in all Metros I have come across in my lifetime! In short, we visited Ploshad Revolutsii (Revolution square with sculptures and different legends, deep blue line), Teatralnaya (green line), Mayakovskaya (MY FAVOURITE! located in the green line, where we played game with a coin and whispering game), two Belorusskaya stations (one is on the green line, another circle line), Komsomolskaya (with mosaics on the ceiling, circle line), Novoslobodskaya (with stain glass, circle line), Mendeleevskaya (dedicated to a famous Russian scientist, who created table periodic table of elements and vodka, grey line). There was so much detail that even eyes can't fathom! Our last station was Tulskaya, located in the green line, where we went to the Danilovskiy market to try out some Russian typical cuisines. There we tried some pickled ramps, spiked with garlic; garlic - in beetroot juice, lard or salo as in Russian (salted and smoked), red and black caviar. We tried kvas, a fermented bread drink. We also tasted different types of honey. Lastly, we had borsh (Russian traditional soup), dumplings (in Russian pelmeni), Dagestan traditional food chuda with herbs and pumpkin, black cherries and strawberry, plus some honey beer. The trip would not have been a success had we not have had the best tour guide, Valentina, who is amazingly fluent in English, fueled with a rich historical knowledge to help those in our infancy on Russian history - to catch up in this short quest we had! I highly recommend having such an amazing tour around the capital to anyone thinking or planning to visit Russia. A million thank you Valentina!

We had a fantastic time in Moscow with my Mother visiting Russia for the first time. Valentina, our tour guide, took us in a historical journey sprinkled from the beautiful Metro (the best I have seen globally), the typical Russian cuisines such as the Kvas, Borsch, dumplings etc. Coupled with a well spoken English on our tour, she explained to us in details, history’s subtleties that’s epitomizes a deep Russian culture from where it stems from, the era of the world wars, strategies on the designs of the Metro in the case of security, the first McDonalds, The Kremlin, St Basils Cathedrals design, Tasty ice-cream in the Gum, Anti-cafe, the best part - Russian typical cuisines. The excursion was fun and each time, there was a sense of curiosity instilled in all of us on some questions we raised as we moved from place to place. For all questions even silly ones, I must say, Valentina has a wealth of knowledge! I have no doubt that this was the best tour I have ever had, which I highly recommend when one decides to swing by Moscow!

Our tour with Malvina was wonderful. She did for us whatever we could expect. I felt as if she was one of the family. The contact was very easy. We learned so much about the metro stations and about moscow history. Thanks a lot and we hope all the best for her and for urban adventures to provide us with such guides

Me and my friend from Sweden took the "Moscow Walking Tour Through the Eyes of Locals" on a Saturday morning in November. We were the only guests showing up - so we got a very personal tour it felt :) Our guide Olga was very knowledgeable and sociable to speak with. It was a good mix of historical sites and facts, some "local shopping", café (to warm up!) etc. Very nice tour of 3-4 hours!

I took the Eat Like A Russian tour of Danilovsky market with Elena. I'm not really a foodie, and am vegetarian, so I wasn't sure how it would go, but Elena was great at giving us options of things to try, and it was interesting to hear the background and customs surrounding the food, even if it wasn't something I could eat. Elena also gave a lot more information about Russian culture and history beyond just the food, and was so kind she even took me across the road to look at the nearby abbey after the tour.

Olga guided us through the main street and then quickly in to side alleys telling us about the history of the area around the Pushkin Square. In between we saw other interesting spots and had a chance to sit and eat a Russian treat. It was just us with Olga which that made it even better, we got the full attention. She also sent us photos of us which she made with her phone - for free. 5/5 stars for the tour "Moscow Walking Tour Through the Eyes of Locals" with Olga.

We had an amazing tour with Nikita. It was a Friday night and the city was busy but he was prepared and still took us to some amazing places. The local beer was a real treat but my favorite was definitely the vodka and snacks. It wasn't just about the drinks and food the restaurant was awesome. It was very Soviet inspired with classic memorabilia all over the walls. What a treat! I would highly recommend this tour and specifically Nikita as a guide! He spoke wonderful English and knows the history of this amazing city so well.

We've been on the tour "Moscow Walking Tour Through the Eyes of Locals" with Alexandra. It was a truly unique experience. Societ-style Georgian tavern (cheburechnaja), 1st McDonald's, moving buildings - I've never heard about these before. And Alexandra is easygoing and interesting to talk to, she has many fascinating stories to tell. But don't believe me - try it out yourself, you won't regret)

I have been trying to come to Russia for a long time . It's been on my bucket list. At first I tried to reach out to multiple tourguides to have my month worth of visit to Russia being fully scheduled in details . Many of the tourguides fell short to comply with my request for many reasons . But when I reached out to Olga from ExploRussia , she was already invested in my request , asking the right questions and pointing out the possibilities. I did my own small research of highlighted cities of Russia and she was able to include them and many other things of her own as well . I was trying to keep my expectations low but Russia being a dream country to visit kept me anticipating and Guess what, the outcome is even much more than I expected. I have been to multiple cities and each city has a guide of its own . All of them were knowledgeable and engaging and friendly. I am very thankful for this company making a dream of mine come true . Hopefully there will come a time to book with them again to explore the rest of Russia

Last weekend I joined the "Virtual Home Cooking with Russian Family" experience and had a great time. The recipe was simple enough that it was easy to follow along (and ingredients I mostly had in my fridge) and Olga did a great job of connecting stories of food & culture in Russian to each ingredient. And the salad itself was delicious! It felt like I was in Moscow, cooking with friends :) It was also great to have others on the call from different countries. I would definitely hop on another virtual experience with Olga.

Daya showed me around much of the beautiful Metro and the city including the 7 Sisters as part of the "Moscow Underground tour". She new so much of the history and provenance of each place we visited and the artwork and architecture aswell. I am still thoroughly impressed. This tour is exactly what a first time visitor of Moscow needs, and a useful introduction to using the Metro system. Daya went above and beyond, tailoring the tour to me and my interests and even helping me after the tour had ended to buy a Russian sim card. I cannot thank her enough. Tour groups are small; mine had only 1 other person. Daya took several photos in good spots and even emailed them to me along with all the historic photos she showed of the places we visited. Had an amazing time exploring the underground metro stations & the Stalin skyscrapers with Valentina! Would highly recommend the tour & also suggest to have Valentina take you around - she is a fun person with deep insight & amazing stories to share. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Moscow. Valentina was a great guide, so knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history and sights of Moscow. The meeting place was easy to find and she shared many interesting stories. She showed me many beautiful places and some unique places as well. She had many great photos to share to explain the many buildings that we saw and how things have changed. We spent time visiting several metro stations and always had time for photos along the way. The trip to Danilovskiy market was well worth it and I enjoyed sampling many wonderful Russian foods. This tour really added to my holiday experience and I will definitely seek out more trips from this company again. Thank you Valentina!!

Last week, I had a transit flight in Moscow and had some 24 hours stay in the town. I signed up for the "More than just vodka spirits" tour. The tour started at 7pm, but I was stuck at the Moscow airport passport control and arrived at the meeting point late. Luckily I was the only one in that tour and Malvina the guide was a charming patient angel. She waited for me and then took me to three places for drinking and told me a lot about Russian drinking culture and Soviet Union's alcohol history. What a great evening! I then joined the city tour Malvina guide the next day and visited many culturally rich places in such a short stay.

Urban Adventures as a whole company were a amazing to work with. I couldn't make my original booking due to a flight issue and they changed the day for me with no late fees despite giving them less than 24 hour notice. Tanya my tour guide was spectacular I got to try delicious food from Russia and countries around it and hear about Russia's food history. She even took me to a shopping centre across the street to purchase a bag to carry my goodies in. It being a solo tour I didn't need to share with others this was a blessing because I got my money's worth but also a curse as I ate so much. I was not going to miss out on a dish or waste good. It was a vegetarian food tour so lots of cheese and bread. I usually avoid gluten due to poor symptoms I get but didn't react to any of the food. The food was prepared fresh for you. I ate Daghestanian pastry (chudu) with cheese, red caviar, rye bread 'Borodino', Russian dumplins (vareniki) with cheese, Vinegret sala, Russian pie with mushrooms, cottage cheese, pickles (tomatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, eggplant), Georgian starter pkhali, drinks: Uzbek teasweets: Russian honey cake 'Medovik', churchkhela (a traditional Georgian candle-shaped candy), and cottage cheese pancakes. 10/10 would recommend. But probably if you can do it with a friend to share the food.
